Using Lightning pull in Labyrinthine Cliffs on one of the auto target pillars causes me to overshoot the platforms making it impossible to get to some of the crystals. This seems to be common for anyone in the Oceanic region or anyone with a moderately high ping.

same here, it’s so stupid because i can’t even manually aim before it because lightning rods are auto-target & trigger.

Another bug with it is, it always goes the max distance. So no matter where I aim the lightning pull, it always goes over my target and it doesn’t connect to the lightning cones. Does anyone else have this problem?

Apparently they say it’s a bug that the skill overshoots if you have any speed boost related skills or traits on. But i’ve taken them all off and the problem still persists.

How are we expected to do the platforming sections if the skill is bugged?

From what I’ve seen, it has nothing to do with speed boosts like people have been saying. You can go in naked and untraited and it will still fling you farther than where you’ve placed your cursor. Even the ones that trigger automatically throw you farther than the next platform. Some crystals are impossible to get because of this bug.

Even if your GT skill gets replaced with a direct one, once you stepped in the area, but if you wait there for ~6s then you get your GT skill back. Then you could jump manually.

So, last night after work I had something like 1 hour to play, and explore the new content. Unfortunately, I didn’t get very far.

I watched the livestream video yesterday and the aspect jumps looked super fun when Leif did them, with zero lag. When I try it myself, I see the following effects:

  • #1 (wind): I klick the skill, and then nothing happens for a while. When the animation for the jump kicks in, it is way too late for me to react and try to steer/direct the jump. On my client I’m in the air, on the server I’m already dead. I haven’t been able to make a single successful jump, so I can’t even get to the upper part of the map.
  • #2 (sun): This skill works – I can warp my character through the waterfalls. At the end of the animation, my character jerks back and forth for about a meter 1-3 times, as if client and server can’t make up their mind about which location my character is in. This is not a problem on the bridges, but it is on bamboo sticks. Like with he #1 skill, when I see the animation it is too late for me to react, so I cannot make any of the intricate movemens that require any form of control like adjusting direction or stopping early.
  • #3 (lightning): This is the worst offender. I think I recall Leif calling this “precise jumping”. However, out of all the ground-targeted jumps I made last night, I managed to land on a platform exactly once. The other 40-50 times I either overjumped it, or did a funny spin in the air for several seconds and then plummeted to death a way before the platform. Now I’m pretty sure that that isn’t what ground targeting is supposed to work like. For me, the jump is a completely random one.

I would like to stress that I don’t usually experience lag in the game whatsoever (apart from random lagspikes here and there every now and then, they happen); but some things are 100% guaranteed to trigger lag on my end:

  • jump pads in SAB
  • jump pads and speed boost platforms in Dragonball
  • jump pads in Aetherblade Retreat
  • aspect skills

See a pattern?

I am dreading Sanctum Sprint right now which relies heavily on the aspect skills – everything suggests that I won’t even make it through the finish line – but as it stands, right now I can’t even get to the entrance of it so I haven’t been able to check for myself.

So, in short, I cannot even make it to the Zephyr airship; I cannot make it into Sanctum Sprint, or to the diving platform, or to most of the energy crystals, or many of the NPCs.

Disclaimer: This is not for lack of jumping skills (I have completed all jumping puzzles in game (including all SAB achievements) except for the Aetherblade one (haven’t had time yet) and Skipping Stones, without using swiftness or stability. It should be easy for me to participate in this Living Story chapter.

Fun fact, my lag is <50 – unless I try to use one of the aspect skills (or a jumping pad), then it spikes hard every. single. time.
So fixing ones’ general latency is not fixing this issue. There is a problem with the way these jumps are implemented, and I have no access to it or control over it.

Playing from Asia, I’m having major issues with this too. The skill constantly overshoots by erratic amounts even when I attempt the exact same jump, making it extremely difficult to predict and get to many of the Sky Crystals. I think this bug needs immediate looking at.

This is not a simple annoyance or a matter of trying it a few more times. There are thousands of players who are shut out of this months chapter almost entirely.

First time I tried that yesterday I aimed at the first pylon … too short, plumeth to death.
Maybe I’m not understanding that skill correctly.

Adding my experience here as well. Although I managed to get the 40 crystals with a lot of trial and error, lightning pull is really infuriating and doesn’t work correctly 80% of the time. When I’m lagging harder, the other two skills get jerky, too. I had similar problems with laggy jumping pads in the AB JP.

Sanctum Sprint is unwinnable. No matter how well I perform, I always end up 8th or 9th. Movement skills will lock me in place for several seconds instead of working, for instance.

I’m in South America (Brazil).

Last night i tried to get one of crystals that was on the last platform of a chain that starts near trader’s docks. (One where you need to manually pull on a first platform then assisted pull 4 or 5 more)
I think i tried more then 50 times. That skill always overshoot. Sometimes i got through 2-3 platforms but do all of them was impossible.

Same problem here. Although able to complete the 40 sky crytals, I skipped the crytals which require lightning pull or minimise the skill. That skill always kills me by overshoot/undershoot.

Just adding that LP is also buggy in the Sanctum Sprint race – will often over or undershoot and cause you to respawn at the last checkpoint.
