Not sure if a bug or intended but quite often Temporal Curtain and Illusionary Wave will ignore defiance on bosses and interrupt their skill. Also, as in case of SEp2’s 1st boss traited Temportal Curtain will ignore defiance while untraited will not.

Ehm… Since Feedback never worked for me on Old Tom, I thought his green projectiles weren’t classified as projectiles in the first place, were they?

Skill: Illusionary Warden
Instance: Fractal, Solid Ocean
Enemy: Veteran Tentacles (excluding first two)
Bug:
If an Illusionary Warden is alive, in melee, and whirling at the time a Veteran Tentacle is killed, it will prevent the spawning of a crystal.

This was reproduced in multiple levels of Fractals.

Then it’s not a Warden bug but a crystal bug. I suggest you create a separate bug thread and say that the crystal may get destroyed because it is classified as a projectile.

Same, since both skills work, it must be a monster skill bug where a specific skill is not tied to the defiance stack. It will be if other classes can reproduce this with their interrupts.

Yeah, you’d have to get a video of this distinction for me to believe it. It seems highly unlikely to me that traiting it has any effect on how it interacts with bosses/defiance, as the control effect it applies isn’t affected by the trait.

Ok, went back in and found out my observation was partially incorrect, probably due to my limited amount of times I actually done SEp2, lol. It was not the traited vs untraited curtain but rather the enemy skill that I was attempting to interrupt. He has 4 skills. [Shock Wave] is interruptable, [Mace Bash][Heal] are not. [Shield Bash] but I believe it to be non interruptable as well but I’m too tired to it bait out for testing (the animation is too kitten short and is used only in melee, which is quite scary).

CoE Advanced golem spin is interruptable by curtain/gs5 and so with warriors mace5 through defiance. Destroyer on the other hand can be interrupted with curtain/gs5 but cannot be interrupted with warriors mace5 through defiance. It seems that every enemy skill when interrupted can ignore defiance depending on the type of interrupts – movement (curtain/gs5), knockdown (mace5), or both.

My guess is it may be not specifically a bug with mesmer skill but rather how enemy skills are coded.

  • No Illusionary Elasticity fix.
  • iWarden broken once more.
  • No promised portal indicator.
  • Phantasmal Haste still not working (I tried my best but saw no difference; anyone to confirm?) Okay, seems to work, simply not countable without a stopwatch.

No gems to you, ANet. (Again).

Phantasmal Haste seems to be fixed.

Illusionary Elasticity isn’t.
iWarden still not reliable.
Portal indicator missing.
Harmonious Mantras and Empowering Mantras traits were swapped.

I am really disappointed here…

Seems like the Phantasmal Disenchanter is bugged too. The tooltip says it clears 2 conditions and 2 boons while having 5 bounces.

With or without IE it bounced only 4 times and it didn’t matter whether it was clones and one enemy or more enemies. Phantasmal Mage and IE is still working though.

19, 20. Illusionists Celerity and Malicious Sorcery traits. (info as of 4 March 2014)

  • If only MS taken: Illusionary Counter CD when triggered is 10s (bug).
  • If only IC taken: Illusionary Counter CD when triggered is 9s (bug).
  • If both MS and IC taken: Illusionary Counter CD when triggered is 9s (bug); Illusionary Counter tootip says 8s (bug); for the sword block, the tooltip is bugged, but all the cooldowns are proper.
  • All other skill-trait combos are fixed.

Confirming none of this has changed as a result of the 4/15 patch.

More importantly, the iWarden needs to be fixed.

  • Portal: This utility was given a skill-fact for range (5000). I personally like the suggestion of mini-map markers, and I’ll bring it up with the team, but I don’t think that was ever planned for this release. Sorry for the confusion.
  • Illusionary Elasticity: I’ll have this looked at again.
  • Illusionary Warden: We made some changes for Illusionary Warden for 4/15. Can you guys elaborate on how its behaving now?
  • Illusionary Counter issues with MS/IC: These issues are still open in our tracker and did not make it into this release.

Focus and Wardens Feedback tested with Warrior Bow:

Focus 4 reflect skill but F1 reflect without dmg. Adrenaline is still full, but cd on F1.
Focus 5 dont reflect. There was a Sound like Blocking. But nothing happened.

We have another issue I’d like an answer. For some reasons the Grand Master Traits Harmonious Mantras and Empowering Mantras were swapped.

Harmonious Mantras was in Domination and Empowering Mantras was in Dueling before the patch, and nothing was said in the patch note about this. Is it intended?

Grouch – thanks for the response. Regarding iWarden, it seems the pre-patch behavior of it spawning and standing there not attacking is still occuring with seemingly the same consistency. In addition, the reflect capability of iWarden when warden’s feedback is traited seems to be impaired, see this thread post:

Thanks for a response. We got excited with the “fixed in feature build” and just a number in the tooltip as a “fix” is, well, a bummer.

Not sure about minimap indicators unless they can show if it will or won’t activate; I would personally be happy if I had:

  • a portal buff icon with a “time left” tooltip similar to ele’s conjured weapons,
  • and
    • either another portal buff icon with “range left” in tooltip or as digits over icon
    • or the skill getting greyed out/marked with red bar as out of range when out of range.

Not sure if buff icons are bad for WvW mesmers though.

A couple of other threads (here, here) mentioned that Warden reflects projectiles upwards unless the trait is reslotted on map reset, or only reflects projectiles from above, as well as still inconsistent in behaviour.

Josh, thanks for the update.

I hate to say this but you guys obviously did not bother to test your changes to the warden. The bug where the warden does not attack is still present, with no noticeable change in behaviour here. In addition to the existing bugs not being fixed, the traited warden no longer reflects projectiles reliably (brand new bug).

The warden worked perfectly fine until you guys added the change to make it chase a few months ago. We never asked for the warden to chase. Since you are clearly not able to fix the moving warden, please just revert it to its previous behaviour: stationary, and working.

Hi Josh, I don’t know how this markers should work but the standard and very common “out of range” red bar under the skill would work perfectly.

I haven’t tested it extensively on mobs yet (will do that today), but I can say that it is still completely bugged for objects, and other mesmers have had trouble getting it to attack anything at all (including mobs).

Tested on Jormag crystals last night – iSwordsman attacked right away as usual, iWarden spawned and did absolutely nothing on any crystal. Inanimate objects had nearly a 100% fail rate with iWarden before this patch, for me at least – seems like that has not changed at all.

i warden is more broken now than before. i used to reflect all projectiles now just the targets projectile and thats an issue for wvw mesmers again! always wvw. we got nothing from u guys in this department at all and are still veilbots, now the iwarden is turned into a 1v1 weird useless phantasm. just revert it to the way it used to be!!!
it was perfect before u guys “fixed” it, i loved it and it was fine, now its so useless i dont even wanna use the focus.
and most of the bugs are not fixed and then we get nothing. seriously, just put some work into this class, help us in wvw (veilbot is sooo boring and annoying), seriously every other class has gotten stuff in the past year and war has become op, engi is now part of wvw too, but since the glamour nerf to the ground, nothing, we have been overlooked and only seen nerfs! we need aoe, we need aoe dmg, we need wvw build, we need groupbuild, we need bugfixes(still cant dmg unbuilt oil), and the gm traits are not even gm trait worthy…just help us already, i wanna play wvw raids with my mesmer without being asked to be a stupid brainless veilbot!!!!!!
is it too much to ask for the devs to put some work into this class? its been way over a year!

I really hope that “Never tell anything in forums” will not be the lesson learned from the mesmer’s discontent about the missing “promised” fixes.

So, anyone tested anything apart from the fixed Phantasmal Haste and (presumably) fixed Illusion of Life? And I haven’t really seen complaints on other bugs listed in the release notes actually.

Didn’t notice anyone mention it yet, but I have experienced my original clones not attacking since last patch, eg GS #2 clone not attacking, same goes if I use mirror images

From what I know this is happening when you are attacking an summoned enemy and the “owner” of that summon is out of your range.
But if the “owner” is in range and are following and attacking you, the clones will attack the summoned enemy if I directly target the summon.

Could also add that the clones don’t play any animations in this state and using a shatter skill will only make them go boom, making me waist skills

Another that you’re missing from your list is that clones do not copy the skins of the outfit. So if you choose to display your outfit, the clones still retain the skin of your equipped armor. Therefore, we can’t use this feature like other classes because it makes it obvious who the real mesmer is.

I get that bugs can be hard to fix but can we at the very least get band aid solutions instead of going 3+ months with nothing only to have something else break again?

I know every class needs attention in this way, but can there be a REAL tune up patch where EVERY skill is looked at and fixed and all resources put towards that before more content?

A new bug I started seeing after the patch on 15th. There are times where the circles above the weapon skills are filled signifying that there are illusions out but I know for a fact that they are not. Have seen this happen both in HotM and Arah. It’s the worst on lupi where I simply can’t tell if I have 3 illusions out or need to quickly generate more to optimize my reflect damage.

Now I can’t even trust my UI while playing which is crucial to mesmers. I’m not an ANet developer so the best solution I can recommend is to hire a real Q/A team. The amount of bugs I’m seeing is beyond my belief.

I don’t know if it’s only on tentacles in FoTM, but dodge Clones spawn idle and dont attack my target. And after target dead they stay idle even if I am out of combat.

Also phantasm bug is still there. Idle good looking phanstasms. I belive its something to do with combat and out of combat. If u are out of combat and spawn phantasm they are idle… same goes for clones you spawn when out of combat…

there is NO excuse for you not fixing the bugs that are destroying entire weapon sets (focus is an abortion right now) in a timely fashion, when you can and do hotfix any bug that benefits a mesmer.

not saying all bugs should or can be fixable as quickly as the Power Block hotfix…..but waiting 6+ months is inexcusable, as it clearly demonstrates where the QA priority is and isn’kittens kittening insulting.

  • Fixed a bug that caused Mesmer clones to receive rune bonuses from their master.
  • Power Block: Fixed an issue that caused this trait to set skills with zero recharge on 10 second recharge; namely auto-attacks from creatures and players, as well as thief initiative abilities. This trait will no longer trigger through stun immunity effects such as Stability and Defiance.

Glad we have our priorities right.

And here’s a couple of attached pictures with yesterday’s useful Wardens standing on nearly flat terrain. I suggest we add a new skill to them when they’re not whirling – Stare to Death, which permanently stuns the target and slowly drains their health.

A new bug I started seeing after the patch on 15th. There are times where the circles above the weapon skills are filled signifying that there are illusions out but I know for a fact that they are not. Have seen this happen both in HotM and Arah. It’s the worst on lupi where I simply can’t tell if I have 3 illusions out or need to quickly generate more to optimize my reflect damage.

Now I can’t even trust my UI while playing which is crucial to mesmers. I’m not an ANet developer so the best solution I can recommend is to hire a real Q/A team. The amount of bugs I’m seeing is beyond my belief.

We’ll need a video or screenshot for that, I think… Will try to take an eye on it.

Didn’t notice anyone mention it yet, but I have experienced my original clones not attacking since last patch, eg GS #2 clone not attacking, same goes if I use mirror images

From what I know this is happening when you are attacking an summoned enemy and the “owner” of that summon is out of your range.
But if the “owner” is in range and are following and attacking you, the clones will attack the summoned enemy if I directly target the summon.

Could also add that the clones don’t play any animations in this state and using a shatter skill will only make them go boom, making me waist skills

Hopefully the attached image will tell a bit more what I mean

Sounds very similar to #10. Phantasms and enemy pets/mobs, but in more details.

God forbid that we had skill bugged in our advantage, even if it’s not op at all, nooo, no sir, they will fix that immediately, no problem, but the skills that are bugged and makes us useless… meh who cares, let’s wait another 6 months for those huh? …

EDIT: talking about “Fixed a bug that caused Mesmer clones to receive rune bonuses from their master”, i agree power block was op in bugged state..

Good morning mesmers,

Going to touch on a few items that are still being reported as issues post 4/15.

  • Portal: This utility was given a skill-fact for range (5000). I personally like the suggestion of mini-map markers, and I’ll bring it up with the team, but I don’t think that was ever planned for this release. Sorry for the confusion.
  • Illusionary Elasticity: I’ll have this looked at again.
  • Illusionary Warden: We made some changes for Illusionary Warden for 4/15. Can you guys elaborate on how its behaving now?
  • Illusionary Counter issues with MS/IC: These issues are still open in our tracker and did not make it into this release.
