I’ve noticed that each of my characters receive a login reward of their own, rather than one per account. I’m wondering if this is a new feature of the patch – or if it’s a bug that’s going to be fixed? I noticed they disabled character creation, and am wondering if this is because of this feature?

I’ve purposefully not opened any of my reward bags, just in case this was indeed not intended, because I don’t want to get my account terminated in case this is a non-intended effect of the new patch.

Is there any official word on this, yet?

Certainly sounds like a bug – if that was something they intended to change, there would have been a note of it in the patch notes, and they would have likely mentioned it at TwitchCon.

so far people are saying its a bug, im assuming also its a bug. other wise whats the point of daily chests if you get many per day :P

Won’t happen. The most they’d do is ban anyone that created hundreds of characters prior to them disabling it. Anyone that did collect multiple chests may find that they’ve taken out a loan and won’t be receiving them for however many days they’ve taken.

Might be the reason that Character Creation is disabled to stop people from creating and deleting chars to get chests.

That would be a nice solution for this bug. I was debating myself if I should log onto my Daily rotation through lvl 25 alts parked at JPs etc and decided that I shouldn’t have to avoid my alts just because Anet made this bug. Just as OP I didn’t open the chests but I doubt there is an easy way for Anet to remove them.

A suspended Daily for the X-Days to come makes sense to me.

I doubt they will ban players over this or stop players from receiving them for however many days they’ve taken. (Since Anet disabled this very quickly)

When we got the wardrobe update patch players made new toons over and over to unlock all the starter skins and due to a bug or unforeseen event. Players where rewarded with several thousands and even 10’s of thousands of WXP rank up chest and Anet was nice enough to let players keep 999 of them and put 99 WXP chest account limit into effect. No one was banned!!

Definitely a bug since it also fully resets all dailies completed.

In LA folks were chatting about hearing of people abusing it to get extra laurels for T6 mats. Folks doing that kind of thing must know they are exploiting a bug…

So… what are we supposed to do with this as players? I’m not going to avoid my alts just because they messed up.

I’m not sure. Once I logged on with my second character and saw the bug, I got a bit apprehensive that if I logged into other toons I might get flagged for abuse so I just logged out of the game until the issue is fixed.

So people got a bit of a daily boost. It will not effect things in the long run. People with the full character limit are going to get a big boost. But I think the people with 64 character limit is probably a small percentage of players.

Or, they’re just abiding by ANet’s mantra from the launch of the game and ‘Playing Their Way’.

It does make sense, but is that how A-net has handled things in the past?
