Guild Wars 2

Before the update yesterday, my custom music for the main menu worked. Now, I can’t change the menu music. This isn’t game breaking but I like to play the Dragon Age Origins theme instead Posting it here in case this is a bug.

We posted about it, too. No response yet. :/

Just something I noticed with the latest patch, I have the main menu song set to something else, but the game is completely ignoring the playlist in the documents/guild wars 2/music folder. Was this intentional or something unexpected. I don’t know how this affects the ambient music or any other, but it at least affects the character select screen (mainmenu.m3u)

Yes, well, the fact that this topic was merged with another most likely shows that they have noticed this issue.

soooooo i didn’t really feel like making a forum post since i already sent in a bug report in-game the day of the patch that it happened
(can’t remember exactly, but i’m pretty sure it was the August 11th patch)
i’m pretty sure i have not changed anything in months since the last time i added music files

but, the Customized Soundtracks have been extremely wonky:

-Main Menu has been playing the ambient playlist
-Ambient and Battle playlists have been using the same songs on repeat excessively
-Death Shroud occasionally has music playing through it, but mostly doesn’t, as it used to

i have a “blank” file at the top of the lists as it says in the guide to using them, i’ve had the playlists up for over 2 years and i haven’t experienced many problems
(except for a few months ago with another bug where battle music wasn’t playing at all, but then it was fixed)
i think i’ve noticed more bugs, but i can’t remember them off the top of my head, these were just a few that have been the most annoying

has anyone else been having any issues with it recently?
or has anyone had the listed problems and know a fix to any of them?

1. So I’ve been using custom playlist for a long time now and I realized a few days ago that MainMenu music has been replaced with Ambient? is there a way around this to it’s original state…? (This is possibly for HoT)
2. Was there any added playlist types that was added with the “presumable” patch and will we be able to customize more area’s in the future?
3. Lastly, is their a way to have a custom playlist playing our songs in addition to Gw2’s tracks? (Without manually downloading every single song)

I dunno if it was replaced with Ambient, I haven’t any custom playlist for it. However, my custom playlist for Main Menu is gone, it plays the default song now.

The MainMenu isn’t working, so Ambient replaces it.

Oh true. I had only custom songs for Main menu, then I had only a MainMenu.wpl file, and after latest patch my custom songs for menu stopped, the default ones played instead. After reading these posts I renamed it to Ambient.wpl and voila, the custom songs played on Main Menu.

So confirmed, MainMenu.wpl is ignored and it uses Ambient.wpl if there is such file. :S

And it seems to be fixed. Main menu now plays custom playlist again. Even better, now it randomizes the first song too (Yup, it played a different song after a relog)

I like the ranomization, however I liked when it played the top song first, then it randomized similar to how ambient “used” to work.

You could also place an empty track for it to always randomize so it’s a win win.

• MainMenu was fixed and now randomizes
• Dungeon Music now plays Ambient?
• Heart of the mists now plays Ambient

I assume these are bugs, but I would really, REALLY like to be able to tweak those in my playlists sepperetly

Also if they could let me tweak some SFX like Death Shroud and the Dodge refill sound
