Recently Ive been noticing a bug to do with minion mobs, I am not aware if this has been adressed before but I will anyways. It appears as if mesmer’s illusions do not recognise certain types of minion mobs, with this I mean mobs which have been spawned by a bigger foe, the easiest example: Giganticus Lupicus’ swarms/grubs. As I run a lot of arah and fractals, Ive mostly noticed this with:

Lupi’s swarms/grubs
risen hunter’s eagles
ice elementals spawned by Ice ele boss in dredge fractal.

It is possible to summon illusions to attack these mobs, but the illusion will only stand still and will not attack. Because this also applies to phantasms, it decreases the usefulness of the mesmer a lot in these situations. I hope someone can look into it.

Huh, never noticed this while playing my mesmer. Although that might have more to do with the fact I’m busy melee’ing lupi and dodging kicks, so don’t really have time to pay attention to my illusions other than the “shatter them before he kicks them” reflexes.

This happens way too often with the Mesmer Dueling X trait (Deceptive Evasion).

I have noticed if I am in range for Illusionary Leap/Swap then the summoned clone will almost always attack. If another target is closer than my target my clone will attack the closest target, which is very annoying but not the topic of this thread. If I am outside of range 600 dodging to create a clone is at best 50-50. Sometimes they attack, and sometimes they just stand there. It would appear that at a certain range they don’t get any targeting information and simply stand there as a clone since you are still in combat. Shattering these clones causes them to get killed, I am unsure if they even create the shatter effect since they have no target.

I do not recall any direct experience for the OP’s examples, but I will try to come back with a few screen shots later today.
