“Additional recipes for ascended back-item pieces have been added to the Mystic Forge for players who don’t play the fractals.

All of the ascended back-item pieces that required 1 vial of Condensed Mists Essence can now be forged with Bloodstone Dust instead."

The Mystic Forge does not allow me to craft Quiver of a Thousand Arrows using the following items:
250 Piles of Bloodstone Dust
240 Philosopher’s Stone
50 Glob of Ectoplasm
250 Vicious Claw

According to the recent update and this GW2 wiki article (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quiver_of_a_Thousand_Arrows) I should be able to make the Quiver using these items. Have I missed something or am I doing something wrong? Has the recipe changed? Am I not using enough Dust?

I’m a level 80 human female Warrior using the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch, if that helps at all.

Have the exact same problem. Suspect the two formerly Magic Find Back Items were left out intentionally. There are actually 10 backs that use Condensed Mists but the notes say only 8 new recipes. Another example of sloppy writing by Anet.

Of course this means that non-Fractal Players remain 2nd Class Citizens, as there are a great many Stat combos for Ascended Back items that can ONLY be obtained with the select-your-stats Yakkington and Arrows backs.

If it’s still possible to create the old MF versions the traditional fractals way then it seems perverse in the extreme not to implement the new recipes for just those two versions. Would be interested to hear the rationale……

I really think this should be addressed. There’s no reason to leave out these specific back items. It’s the only way you can get certain stat combinations on a back piece…

Wow. Anet. I would be ashamed of this. really really low blow.

It seems that with every new patch A-net just keeps creating more and more major bugs, and bugs like this are probably much lower on their priority list. It doesn’t seem like A-net is very good at fixing/responding to bugs in general, so I’m going to assume this is a lost cause… Guess I’ll have to join a guild and leech rides in Fractals until I get a vial…

Vials aren’t hard to come by, and neither are globs or shards, which you can simply just downgrade in the Mystic Forge. Without an ascended back, you should be fine in 20s Fractals.

Not saying it shouldn’t be fixed, as it should. But there are ways around it, and if it means I have to run fractals with you guys to get you that vial….

some of us hate fractals. they promised over a year ago that everything would be available outside fractals. seems like a lie to me.

So DO the old Vial recipes for the Thousand Arrows quiver and There with Yakkington still work? Someone was saying yesterday that the old recipes no longer worked either, which I would find very unfair. It would mean there are people in the game with Ascended backpiece stats that are no longer obtainable.

Yeah, been searching through forums and update post and whatnot, and I see nothing of this sort. At all.

Also if u are trying to upgrade your back piece it doesn’t work

So I have just encountered this issue as well, getting stuck on that 1 vial of Condensed Mists Essence, what a pain…

Looking at their patch note back then, while they did say “All of the ascended back-item pieces that required 1 vial of Condensed Mists Essence can now be forged with Bloodstone Dust instead.”, they also clearly stated that only 8 new recipes have been added (there were 10 recipes for the book/quiver), making me think that they left out those two on purpose.

I really hate this.

I’m in the same boat as other posters here. Release notes clearly say all recipes, but not all recipes were added. I want a cleric’s backpiece and don’t want to do fractals.

Has anyone tried this since the 2014 01 21 update?
I’m with Mojo Gris Gris… I have no interest in either fractals or dungeons…
