Personality removed?
I was told it’s a temporary measure because the “brute” personality trait was called ferocity.
With ferocity now being the name of the +critical damage stat, they’re having to rename that personality type.
There wasn’t enough time to do this come the 15th, so they’ve disabled it until they do that.
That’s a (fairly solid) rumor, mind you. Take it with a grain of salt. It’s also possible they really did remove the personality system. We don’t have an official word.
Certain NPCs still offer you choices for personality, so everything hasn’t been removed, in that sense. Whether it reappears on the Hero panel, or not, I can’t say.

At least it’s the first time I see some clue about why that and it would make some sense yes. I just had noted it gone from Hero panel but its aspects still are across the game (NPCs dialogs and such) so I don’t think it was completely removed.

The personality system was more likely removed because it was an aborted project and served no purpose at all in the game. At best it provided some alternate dialog options.
It did provide flavor. I know most roleplayers took active care to retain a specific personality on their characters (such as “Scoundrel” or “Diplomat”).
