Was getting crashes using 32bit client since last patch and changed to the 64bit client which fixed the crashes, but my in-game ping has doubled, was getting 230ms from Australia and now getting 460ms?
I tried the 32bit client again and still getting 460ms, look’s like it’s reconfigured my entire game now.

Has anyone else had the same problem and is there a fix for this?

It is possible that it is just coincidence in timing and your ping issues are unrelated to the client bit version considering your ping remains high even after returning to the 32-bit client. I say this as others are suddenly experiencing ping/lag issues who previously had no issues (here, maybe here also), so it is possible that it may be related to whatever is causing that and not the client bit version. Sorry I cannot help further. May want to check into that tech thread and add your trace results to see if the problem can be pinpointed.
