I started playing the Moa Race mini-game after the patch that mentions fixing it. Here is my experience:

1st race: 3rd place – achievement credit received
2nd race: 2nd place – no achievement credit
3rd race: 5th place – no achievement credit
4th race: 3rd place – no achievement credit
5th race: 2nd place – no achievement credit

I stopped at this point. My achievement bar says 33% complete (1 out of 3 needed). Obviously I never came in first, but I did receive credit for the initial race I bet on and came in 3rd. So something is odd.

Can we confirm that you need to come in first for credit (and therefore my first race credit is a bug)?

Or can we confirm that you can come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for credit (and the event seems bugged overall)?

The better question is why they’d tie an achievement to something as inane as betting on a RNG event.

Moas that placed 2nd or 3rd will still give vouchers but will not progress that achievement.

With due respect, that’s not true. Yesterday, after racing for a while at 66% completion (the first two had been granted from 1st place wins), I finished my achievement after receiving a 3rd place win.

You may need to revisit the code to see where this is going wrong!

I guess the bug is in my favor at the moment since I got it from the 3rd place finish!

While I agree with the general sentiment that making an achievement linked to spending money is somewhat distasteful, if the achievements for Dragon Bash function similarly to Last Stand at Southsun, I imagine you can still progress the achievement for Moa Racing even after Dragon Bash is over, since the activity is a permanent addition to the game. You can thus just drop 50 silver on it when and where you have the savings to do it, and are not compelled to do it now. (Unless you want the exclusive mini.)

I got this entire achievement by only getting 3rd place in races. 2nd place didn’t get me an achievement point and I never got 1st place in a race.

More info on the moa bug: I noticed the same bug as many people who bet on the Mystery moa. After looking closer I realized I got the achievement only after Myxx won three races. Myxx was the mystery moa who gave me my first win at the races. If either Mokk or Muggo won a race it did not count toward the achievement. I’m assuming the wins are counted based on the name of the bird?

I notice the same issue, i check the achievement window for dragon bash, it says i completed the achievement for winner’s circle but it is not counting that is has completed, so i just stopped playing the mini game until it is fixed

On the first day of the event, I got achievement credit only for winning (I won once, and playced 2nd and 3rd place several times) but yesterday I got credit for a #3 AND another #1 placement (and thus finished the achievement).

This isn’t true about the achievement part, I got 1st place, got 1 achievement point, then got 3rd and got another achievement point. Now I’ve landed 3rd and 2nd, and can’t get that last achievement point to finish this out. At no time have I bet on the mystery moa, I’m using the standard ones.

Update: Just got 1st on a different moa, and it finally went thru, yay!

Define “lots of money”?

Ever looked at “The Emperor” achievement? In total, that costs 644g 90s. You are not even required to complete the moa achievement to get your shattered dragon wings.

Your comment adds nothing to this discussion and deters from actually fixing the bugs that lie within.

Guess what, so does this comment, but hey, someone needs to tell people when they’re being pointless.

To the topic at hand, I gained this achievement by betting on 1st place twice, and 3rd place 3 times, despite what Rachael has said.
