Guild Wars 2

Hello everyone, I’m currently having an issue where the 5th axe skill, Whirling Defense, does nothing. Pressing the hotkey/clicking on the skill does nothing; skill doesn’t activate nor does it go into cooldown. Also, if you mouse over the skill, it doesn’t have the white outline the other skills do. It’s very much like an empty skill slot with just the image (Can’t link the skill either). The tooltip does show up, but that’s all.

I saw a poster having the same problem about 4 months ago, but it seemed to have been ignored. Hoping that bringing it back up will give it the attention that it needs.

If others could also confirm/refute having this issue, that would help too.

Have you attempted to swap weapons back and forth to see if it corrected the glitched skill?
Or try to un-equip and re-equip the axe to see if that corrected it?
After those have you tried completely closing your game and reopening it to see if the glitch persisted across game sessions?

I have tried weapon swapping/unequip-equipping both before and after restarting the client. Unfortunately it did not resolve the issue.

So the issue is with:

• Class: Ranger
• Weapon: Axe Off-hand
• Skill: #5 Whirling Defense (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Whirling_Defense)

I’ll bring up my ranger and see if I can do anything to reproduce this issue to then see if I can undo it again

A few questions though, if you don’t mind:

1. Are you wearing a back item?
2. Exactly which axe are you using (name, level, upgrade)?
3. What is in your main hand with this axe?
4. Do you have your ?/Axe in the lower weapon set or upper weapon set?
5. What is your alternate weapon set?
6. Have you tried waypointing or zoning to a different area to see if it persists?

Just wanted to see if you’d mind giving a little more info that can possibly help reproduce it.

I’d be glad to (and I appreciate your feedback):
1. Yes I am. I have the Quiver of Swift Flight equipped.
2. I just bought the cheapest one to see if I like the skillset. (Lvl 0, Mighty Axe, unupgraded)
3. Mighty Sword, lvl 0, unupgraded.
4. I have it on my lower weapon set
5. Longbow
6. Yes, unfortunately didn’t fix =<

I just found the answer, and I feel stupid for it.
Axe 5 was not completely unlocked. It was missing a small strip of skill exp? that I could not see. Thank you very much or your help and patience.

No problem! I really don’t like seeing issues go unresponded to, especially ones that a very small minority may be affected with. Any issue that lessens the enjoyment of gameplay for one person is as important as an issue that affects thousands, to me. I’m glad to hear it was only due to that little sliver of experience needed to unlock it. I personally have issues with how skills are unlocked, and this exact situation is reason for one of them.
