Reaching mushroom mastery point in TD
I’m not really sure which one you are having issue with, but here are some tips from the Wiki:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tangled_Depths_Insight:_Nuhoch_Lane
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tangled_Depths_Insight:_Northern_Confluence
Also, Dulfy probably has videos on how to reach any and all Mastery Points.
Hope one of those helps. Good luck.

Your point is not helping! Please read items 1~4 at the end again specially item 3 which says
3- distance from any POI or chat link-able point in map! when you say mushroom mastery! people assume it is the one …
So, which one is it? You can find tips for completing all of them in the Wiki or likely videos on Dulfy.
Hardly a ‘bug’.
Good luck.
I think OP means this hero point: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mushroom_Spore_Cloud
While I agree that the distance from that area to the nearest WP is really frustratingly far, nothing about this is bugged. Is it annoying? Heck yes. Is it bugged? No.
Whenever I’ve had to get to that hero point, I do the Beetle Feast adventure to get to it. That way, I don’t have to actually kill anything until I’m at the hero point (just get the blue mushrooms to get the powerups so I can quickly get past everything and burrow under the gates), and I can just start back at the starting flag if I manage to die on the way. Once I get to the two veterans at the end, I’ll either hang back and stealth (if I’m on a stealth class) or just leave the beetle form and prepare to fight the two vets.
Oh, and I find it’s slightly quicker to run up and out of the cave at Teku Nuhoch (not going all the way up the tree to the top) so that you’re on the main ground level. Then run over towards the Beetle Feast marker on the map; there will be a bouncing mushroom on the ground level near there, and you can use that to get up to the starting flag for Beetle Feast.
Ah, well. Mastery Point is a bit different than Hero Challenge. Understandably confusing.
Hope that^ helps.
Good luck.

If you are there as a beetle then you can just use the stealth from the beetle skills.
As for fighting them, the veterans are not linked so they can be pulled separately.
A melee class has trouble separating the vets that one shoots mushrooms at you and other one charging at you and knocking you down!
My point is, the HoT area is not what it was during first months that you could get 20 players to help you with a Hero Point. Anet should reduce them to single vet + 2 normal mobs just like regular areas!
FYI, these HP giving 10 points is not a good excuse to have them as multiple vets or champions with help! those 10 points worth as much as 1 point in Tyria and they are simply 10 points so people cannot use Tyria points to fill up Elite spec.

What GW2 class lacks access to a ranged weapon?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen 20 people at a hero point, aside from during an HP train. And those aren’t hard to find, if you want company.
So I don’t agree that ANet should reduce the difficulty.

I think the reason is that HoT is supposed to be more difficult than core Tyria. (I agree that it shouldn’t have anything to do with “10 points” versus “1 point,” at least not directly.)
One of the issue with this particular thing is that they made the decision to overlay an adventure on top of the HP so those vets are serving a dual purpose.
There is also the typical HoT problem of “lets stick something that spams AoEs in a tiny room design”.
