Sanctum Sprint Lightning Pull is Broken
I noticed this happening right after they added the option to set your own camera distance. I sent in a bug, never heard anything more about it.
I’m always falling short, never seen anyone overshoot before.
This has happened to some extent since the skill was first introduced in the Bazaar of the Four Winds, I don’t think awareness of the issue is what’s stopping it from getting fixed.
Long story… this issue has been around for a long time now.. really annoying -_-
While I can’t say over/undershooting with this and similar skills is the norm for me, they are quite unreliable. I haven’t done Sanctum Sprint in a while, but the lightning pull skill in Dry Top and even the launchpads at Tequatl behave the same way. Either of them can over/undershoot the target landing spot by a considerable amount, or just drop you out of the air like a brick mid-flight.
I have noticed that it often accompanies the flight/jump being jerky or having some rubber-banding. Which makes me think that it’s caused by server or network lag, as the wiki suggests. Even with an apparently low ping, server lag can still cause problems. I often have skill lag when my ping is still under 100.

Basically, if you’re prone to server lag, you’re going to have this problem. If you’re not prone to it (like me), you’re not going to have this problem. It really sucks for those who do have lots of the lag problems.
Lag surely can affect it but it’s not directly related to lag. Lag just makes it worse. There have been cases where I wasn’t having any lag at all, ping was low and stuff and even so I kept being overshot, even then when using that tethering thing that should put me in its exact place.
