Experiencing this bug also. Sitting at 95% world completion and was hoping to finish today. Working on my first legendary so this is sort of a bummer. I hope it gets fixed soon.
Cmon Anet, still not fixed, almost a week now if not more. This is blocking alot of peoples world completion aswell as mine. It don’t take that long to fix 1 bug on a skillpoint that is blocking progress for everyone.

If it didn’t take that long to fix, it would be fixed already. I very much doubt that ANet would avoid attending to the easiest fixes, because if nothing else, it reduces the number of bug reports they are seeing.
It seems this particular skill is tied to a change in the combat mechanics and is affecting other skills. They are apparently looking for resolving the root cause, rather than applying a temporary work-around.
Of course, knowing the background doesn’t make it any easier to be patient about it; it just explains why stuff like this doesn’t get fixed instantly.

Been bugged for 5 days, they managed to fix the voices but i couldnt care less about the sound fix as i never play with the sound.
I want the skill point fixed.
So Anet how about we focus on gamebreaking bugs instead of bugs that have absolutely no significant effect on the game itself…
Sure it might be annoying to people that do play with sound but it hardly breaks the game for them and it literally means jack squat to me since i dont play the game with sound.
So please take your thumbs out of your kitten and fix the bugs that actually do break the game.

Sorry for my rage but this fix is long overdue and its really starting to annoy me that they havent done anything about it yet.
I would’ve added my reply to one of the existing threads, but since the devs haven’t given us a single response thus far—which is apalling, to say the least, as this issue impedes progress in world completion. It isn’t avoidable—I’m creating my own thread in hopes of spreading some awareness.
The skill challenge on the Stormbluff Beacon in the Stormbluff Isle inside Bloodtide Coast is broken and does not work, as several players have already reported experiencing the same issue.
Anyways:
When attempting to fire the cannons, these will simply refuse to rotate upwards, and thus, aim towards the castle wall, and not hit the intended targets. As such, the skill challenge cannot be completed.

I think it’s game breaking myself, but I for sure know that at least one thing is broken: My Heart.
I have asked a few devs about this bug. all they said was ‘Sorry we can’t do anything,’ wouldn’t even dignify me with a ‘We are aware of the bug and plan on fixing it.’ Also reported the bug in-game and on the site.
It’s a bit ridiculous that I have to wait a week to get the last skill point I need to finish my legendary. I really hope this doesn’t end up like the POI in Plains of Ashford that was broken for several months. :/
It is really something, watching players go there a few times a day, myself included, to see if it is fixed. The Say chat is filled with sorrow and despair, as players realize the cannons are still cursed.
Please, if you have nothing better to do in game, or find yourself with a few extra minutes, go to the cannons and hold vigil with miserable skill point seekers. We can use the moral support while we wait for our bug reports to move up in queue.

Still bugged, please fix this. It’s blocking world completion and is profoundly frustrating. Even an acknowledgment of “hey, yeah, we know it’s broke”, would be better than this silence.
Just turn it into a “Fight this npc for skillpoints” challenge instead, its not like these cannons are amazingly fun in the first place. This skillpoint is ticking me off now at 99% world completion.
This just in…Legendary crafting hits an all time low. Anet to look into the reasons, plans use of advanced metrics to determine the cause. Player base already knows…

Bump, still broken. Would be nice to see a red post at least confirming they’re aware of it and are working on fixing it since many people only need this one thing for map completion.
i will stop saying fix this sp 8days not even a response. ANET at least give us answer that you awere of this bug.. one skill point far from my eternity and it really feels like eternity..
Bumping this thread isn’t going to get it fixed more quickly. The same bug affects other parts of the game (notably the thaumanova reactor maze). I hope all (or most) of us can agree that it’s better for ANet to work on fixing the root cause, rather than diverting resources for a temporary fix.
I know it’s hard to be patient (especially if it’s the last part of map completion), but they will fix it as soon as they can.

I’m not asking for a ‘temporary fix,’ I’m not asking for them to ‘divert resources,’ I’m asking for an official response that says, ‘Yes we are aware of the issue and plan on fixing it when we can.’
They have employees just for replying to the forums and that doesn’t require any ‘resources’ to be diverted for a simple answer of ‘We are aware.’

You obviously have no idea how the real world works. The people who complain the loudest, and have the most numbers behind them get heard.
1 person complains, nothing happens, anet has no clue.
10 people complain, people start to notice.
100 people complain, it becomes a bigger deal.
10,000 people complain, and it gets fixed because if it doesn’t Anet looks to lose players, which is money to them.
It’s just a testament to the lack of support that is provided to the players by Arenanet. 5 days later, and I haven’t even received an email in return regarding the issue.
Play games like League of Legends, and put in a support ticket. You’ll get a response within 24 hours, from the nicest individuals in the gaming company, and they will always do everything in (and out) of their power to make you happy.
