Before skip: I think it was The Trap. We chose the Order of the Whispers path. After that, we traveled to Lion’s Arch, but I used the asura gate and my friend used a Lion’s waypoint. I got a message called “An Introduction” that seemed sorta random, and after that our storyline quests didn’t match up. I could tag along in my friend’s instance, but I didn’t get credit.
After Skip: My friend’s quest is Stealing Secrets, and mine is Suspicious Activity

I’ve been doing the story quests with a partner from the very start. We finished Trouble at the Roots together, then went to speak with the Order NPCs at the Grove. She began the story instance and I joined her. She chose the support Cai which led to Tangle of Weeds.

The option to end the quest and move on with MY personal story from my friend’s instance then popped up. I accepted it thinking that it would give me the same choice she made. However, I am now on Flower of Death. I did not have any options to choose for myself while doing Trouble at the Roots, so it must have defaulted to the Vigil.

I’d like to be set back to joining the Whispers with my friend if possible

Story step before you skipped content or were put on a different story branch: The Queen’s Justice (shared story, not mine, but the 3 of us all wanted Priory). The owner chose Priory and quest updated and gave us popup to get credit. (But we didn’t get the option to choose).
Story Skip: We had the next step in the chain in our log until we landed on Lion’s Arch Waypoint, then jumped to Red Alert.

Completed the trap and did the quest in Lions Arch whereby Destiny’s Edge meet. We were both placed in the Order of Whispers correctly and protected the queen in ‘The Trap’. We both received rewards for this.

Tag along went straight to ‘Stealing Secrets (30)’ after receiving mail.

We beat the trap…

We both got Stealing Secrets, the cutscene said to go to Lion’s arch. So we both did.

We were walking around Lion’s arch… and I looked up at my screen, and saw I was on level 48 quest. SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. I asked him what he was on, still stealing secrets.

Like I said, I am only level 21… friend is 24.
I missed 28 levels of quests??

Please get this fixed now so I can actually play thekittengame!

Kettri started the mission Stealing Secrets (30). While inside, Kettri selected the Order of Whispers. When exiting to Lion’s Arch, Sohju’s objective changed to Suspicious Activity(48). Kettri’s quest seems unaffected, she’s on the next objective for Stealing Secrets (30).

8. This is not the first time i was given the wrong quest. earlier in the story i was made to do a priory quest when i picked a whispers quest.

This does not just happen on the choice quests mentioned above, I’ve had an issue like this on a lower level quest. After the choice in “Sharpened Thorns” my tag along character advanced to the opposite choice than the one I had chosen (“Blossom of Youth”). I got the Order quest while she got the Priory.

We ignored that one but later there was a bigger skip in the quest line leading me to find this.

8. Any other notes? I believe this only happens to tag-along characters who choose to advance their story upon completion of someone else’s. The quest “Fragile Peace” was showing in her log in the top-right at first, but some time between when we left the Grove and went to Lion’s Arch it got messed up. We were looking for the quest entrance in town and I was standing on it and she was saying it was elsewhere…
