I was playing, fighting the two elemental hands for “Defense of Shaemore” the hands died, then the game booted me out to patch. After it finished patching, I tried to load in, and it has now been sitting on the “Defense of Shaemore” screen for 11 minutes… and just now it said it lost the client server.

Is this a common occurance?

Stuck on Wayfarer Foothills loading screen here.

My Mesmer is stuck loading in Sparkfly Fen since the patch just now, my Ranger and others load up just fine elsewhere!

Also all my friends are stuck.

Ah ok so then its a server issue then most likely?

I logged out to patch the new build, but now I can’t get back in.

Jade Quarry, Wayfarer Foothills.

My other characters can log in fine, but this one sits at the Wayfarer Foothills loading screen. My daughter was playing with me in the same zone at the time, patched at the same time, and is also unable to log in to that character on her account.

So, is Wayfarer foothills FUBAR’d? How do I get my character back?

Yeah me too, only on the toon I was using, others still work.

Same here. Won’t load after restart. Same thing happened with yesterday’s patch when I was in Caledon Forest. I doubt this is a zone issue but rather an issue after patch notifications/restarts are made.

Same as Pearl… toon in use is stuck between heart of the mists and LA load screens, can log onto others

Help! Me too, my alt just finished lv 10 story quest, it booted me to do the patch, I can’t log in now, stuck in loading screen!

We have two stuck loading into Wayfarer Foothills on Jade Quarry.

It’s not just you, and it’s not just Sparkfly Fen.

Ouch :X sounds like the DB got messed up. Seems like Anet will be getting a flood of these error messages soon (saw another thread with this reported)… [Wasn’t on at the time, but will shortly check my last-used char]

Same issue for Black Citadel. Other character loads fine in Southsun Cove.

Right before the patch, I was in heart of the mists. I logged out, patched the game, and try to get back in there. Now it’s stuck at the HotM loading screen. Restarted 3 times already. There is no hard drive activity. Seems like other people have similar problem with that characters stuck in other zones?

I tried my alt characters and they seem to be fine. It was the character I’m using before the patch that is stuck.

Me too, unable to load my character.

Also having this issue, infinite loading loop while trying to enter Tixx’s Infinirarium.

I logged out in Sparkfly Fen and now I can’t log back in with that character. It just hangs at the loading screen. I was able to log in to LA with another character.

EDIT: Wanted to add that I logged out when I saw the message about the game client being restarted in 3 min for a new build.

Me. I had a character in Hoelbrak when i relogged, went to Wayfarer Foothills, and…

Well that’s where i’m still at. In zone limbo.

I got the same issue loading into Eternal Battleground map. Stuck there and that character is unplayable.

Eventually errors out with code=7:0:0:783:101.

But trying again just gets stuck again on the loading screen (until another eventual error screen).

Once I select a character, I get stuck on a loading screen as well. Tried a few other characters with no luck. Just adding my 2 bits.

just now I got a hang while trying to load into LA on my server

after rebooting the game it says that LA’s portal waypoint has become contested and it redirected me back to black citadel.

The toon I was using just before the patch (my main toon) is stuck on loading. My other lvl 2-ish toons can get beyond the loading screen no problem. >.<

Only my main is stuck it was the toon I was using prior to the patch (checked 4 others and they were all OK). I also manually logged off before I was kicked by the patch so no connection there.

Same loading screen problem for me at Wayfarer Foothills. My other character can enter The Grove just fine.

Here’s an update for myself. I alt-tabbed away from the game and let it sit on the loading screen. Eventually it DID get into the game. It just took approx 5 minutes.

This is an information gathering thread, and would also help Anet by keeping info in one thread since already there are a food of these threads appearing.

Post where you were when the patch occurred (zone, main menu, logged out), what loading screen you got stuck on with your last used character (if any – it would also help to know what happened even if you did NOT have this problem; the more info, the better).

As for myself:
I was offline, loading main menu crashed the client once (became unresponsive, prompted windows error message)*, restarting it worked, was then able to access last used character.

*This may be entirely unrelated, based on the symptoms I’ve been hearing, which involve the actual zone w/ only the last used character

Just got back on to my mes.

Try logging on another character then log off and try again. Fixed problem for me (both chars were in the same area tho)

My necromancer cannot log in, but my ranger can.. interesting “First day” of the game for me.. o.O

As the title says it’s stuck on the checking for updates screen(3kb) and has been for the last 20mins. Have tried restarting it twice and even running the repair command, doesn’t do anything.
