Superior Rune of the <class> Bug
My Superior Rune of the Guardian is doing the same thing. With 6 equipped it is showing (12/6). From what I can tell by my stats, I am getting all the bonuses with only one equipped.
LVL 80 Norn Guardian
LVL 80 Slyvari Ranger
It happens on my Sumperior Runes of Ranger too. I’m equipping just 2 runes, but it shows as if I’m equipping 8 of them, and I don’t get any bonus from the runes, I think.
The (X/6) message counts both your PvE and PvP gear. This is a UI bug. Your PvP gear is by default slotted with six Superior Runes of the <Profession>. You’re only getting the bonuses from the ones you actually have, the tooltip just thinks you have more.
“Come! Break your weapons upon me!”

This. As soon as I removed engineer runes from PvP gear the bug disappeared. Thanks for the info.
The Superior Runes on my armour are showing 12/6 instead of 6/6, they have been showing this for some time but didn’t think to mention on here.
Big Bad Bunny – Necro – FSP [PunK]
The tooltip is including runes on your PvP armor.
When i equip a Superior Rune that matches my class it gives me a 7/6 runes equipped with just one rune. So a Superior Rune of the Necromancer will give my necro a 7/6 stat buff instead of the single buff i should get.
The tooltip adds PvP armor and regular armor together.
I’d just like to say that if this is ever going to get fixed, it should also not add the Helm and Aquabreather together as they are calculated individually, like weapon sets.

I don’t understand this response. Perhaps you could clarify as I have the same problem.
Basically I have six of the Superior Rune of the Dolyak. This is in normal gear, not sPvP gear. For some unknown reason, it shows 7/6 runes equipped, which is incorrect. Screenshot attached.

The (X/6) shows the total number of the rune that you have equipped, between both your PvE and PvP armor. It can go up to 14 at most – 6 + 1 (aqua breather) for both PvE and PvP. So either you have one dolyak rune on your aqua breather, or you have one dolyak rune on your pvp gear.

On my sylvari ranger I have 1 superior rune of the ranger but it is showing that I am using 7/6 runes on my build. I am only getting the stats from my 1 actual rune.
A friend who is also a ranger has this issue as well.

I think he’s saying the counter on the tooltip is bugged. The actual effect is (presumably?) working correctly.
Yes the rune still give the correct stats. It’s just the UI that is showing the wrong number. If it bugs you, you could go into the mists and change the runes on your sPvP armour.
it may go 7/6 because of the rune in the aquatic helm (even if you are on the ground) however runes are working correctly
When i posted this i was talking about equipping a single rune and getting the bonus as if i had 7/6
then you have a whole set of the same rune on your spvp gear (if you haven’t changed the runes on your spvp gear is default to your class rune)
I’ve seen this too where the tooltip thinks I have six of the Superior Rune of the Necromancer equipped on my necro, yet I have none equipped.
I’ve never PvP’d at all…on any character, so I have never created a PvP set with runes.
Could use this to your advantage.. Equip 3 of one type in sPvP 3 of another.. then on your main equip 3 of those types and get 2 full set buffs. Yummy!
@TheagedGnome: read my post right above your own for the answer.
@Clouded: No you can’t is a purely visual bug, the actual effects works only for the part of the game (pve/wvw or spvp) that you have the rune in
I have the same problem with my runes ;/
I don’t do sPvP i haven’t even been in the Mist’s to start PvP so i cant have anything on my sPvP gear.

yes you are given a spvp set with the runes called after your class as soon as you make your character, no matter if you ever enter the mist or not
Ah thanks Gnome that makes sense.
I have 4 Superior Rune of the ranger and it says I have 10/6 in RED.
If I add up the precision points for the armor piece, and then remove the armor, Precision only reduces by the amount of Precision built into the armor, not the precision that I should have with the rune. The RED is probably indicating that there is an error and NOT adding the precision of the runes. After spending 1.9 gold on each one and likely getting zero advantage, this is NOT good. Could someone please verify or fix this problem. I have also submitted an ingame support issue on this.
Retract previous. I removed everything and added one at a time and indeed when I add the 1st piece, an additional 25 precision was added, and on the third piece an additional 50 precision was added, etc.
Sorry for the previous post, but it did get me to recheck. The runes ARE working!!!
