I’m confused

Ayrilana, I believe what it means is that the Toxic Field Researcher daily task only advances in percentage upon successful gatherings of pristine spore samples, not from unsuccessful mushed samples or from buying samples from the TP.

Well, yes, it only advances when you succesfully harvest pristine spore samples… 5% advancement at a time, no matter how many samples you harvest in a single go. So in order to get the achievement to 100%, you’ll successfully harvest 20 times and thus end up with way more than 20 samples. You don’t collect 20 samples, you collect 20 times.

In other words… please fix either the mechanism or the description.

1) the description is wrong and should say “Harvest 20 toxic seedlings” or
2) the achievement is bugged and every pristine toxic spore sample should be counted, not just one.

I vote for 1. since its much easier/quicker like it is actually to just harvest 20 seedlings than to get 20 pristine spores

I harvested the same seedling 4 times and got 20 spore samples in one go.

Go to Beetletun Farms, you can easily get the 20 harvests in this spot.

It’s not a matter of it being hard or easy. It’s that the description “Collect 20 spore samples” is wrong.

Mushed Spore Samples are acquired when harvesting Toxic Seedlings for Pristine Toxic Spore Samples and the harvesting fails.

As the ‘harvesting’ fails, you didn’t really collect the Spore sample. /shrug

it doesn’t matter what you get from harvesting from the node, just how many times you harvest.
find a garden of 7 nodes from which you get 0 pristine samples? 35% complete!
finish a spore event and harvest the node that is left behind where you get 5 pristine samples? counts for 5% of that ach.

the highlight of my evening was gathering from a node, got 4 pristine samples, node still there, gathered another 3, node still there, gathered another 5. today was a good day.

Mine advanced even when gathering mushed samples.
