Guild Wars 2

Ok so, I just bought a Grandmaster’s Training Manual, tried to use it didn’t work, read description; said I needed a Master’s Training Manual, got one, tried to use it: nothing.

So I got a Adept’s Training Manual, It let me use it, then the Master’s worked then the Grandmaster’s worked. Problem is, It still didn’t unlock the use of the level 80 traits. I’m a level 62 Engineer. Did I misread something or is this bugged. I read a few earlier posts but they were outdated to before the Traits got updated.

Anyone having similar issues ?

Trait Manuals are obsolete. You no longer need them. Traits are unlocked by level and/or by Trait Guides and/or Trait tasks.

Actually, out of interest, where did you buy them?

You can still buy them from the trading post.

…oh.

But… Why? o_O

I guess sellers are hoping unsuspecting people might buy them…..

One would hope there would be a clue to their usefulness when one could no longer obtain them from the Trait Master.

Hmm … maybe for characters that were created before the feature patch but didn’t have the GM traits unlocked yet?

They are still useless. Using them does nothing now, whether the character is pre-April Feature Patch or post.

The Traits are automatically unlocked when you reach the appropriate level. (For pre-patch characters. No need for Manuals.)

Sorry you spent the gold. I would recommend contacting support in case there is something they can do. It seems to me that it’s a bug to allow a completely useless item to remain for sale on the TP, without updating the description to say “hey, don’t buy me — I can’t be used for anything anymore.”
