Say it isn’t so!

Several threads have reported the bug in previewing transmuted items. They appear in the preview window in their un-transmuted form instead of the form we changed them to. The Forum Moderators have even thanked us for our bug reports, and said they will pass it along to the game developers.

Now I see this under the WIKI Patch Notes for Build: 22,643 August 22: Previewing transmuted equipment will display the icon and skin of the item that provided the stats instead of the item that provided the skin.

Does this mean someone thought there was a good reason to do this?

BAD IDEA!

A) We transmuted the item for a reason! We don’t like the original look, and don’t want to see it.

B) Unlike GW1, the icons don’t really look much like the actual item. Previewing is the only way we know which item is which without having to actually equip it.

If there is some reason we need to preview the un-transmuted form, then add “Preview Untransmuted” to our options. Don’t take away our ability to sort through our own inventories!

you can still preview the skin of the transmuted item if you link the item in any chat and then preview it from chat

the bug where preview the item that was used for the stats only happens when you preview the items out of your inventory/bank

and i dont think it is intended^^

maybe it has something to do with the new special items that will come
with which you can get the 2 items used for the transmutation back from 1 transmuted item

like this you will also be able to make your legendaries “legendary” again
(no idea when it will actually come though)

I saw this, it frustrated me to no end since every single piece of armour I have is transmuted. It’s kinda irksome to be able to sort through my bank with this bug the way it is. It’s like oh, I wonder what this looks like agai… crap.

Doesn’t seem intentional. They’ve acknowledged it, so we’ll just have to wait.
