No, legendary items stay legendary as long as you keep the skin, and if you didn’t you would have wasted about 1500g…. so you keep the skin, change the stats.

There was a bug were, when you transmuted, it would go to exotic quality but was fixed, let the thread die.

Except the problem has NOT been fixed. The forge still reads my transmuted Twilight as an exotic when I try to create Eternity. Everything else about it says it is in fact a legendary, except for when you try to combine it with Sunrise and create Eternity.

This is still not fixed so why should the thread die? People who transmuted their legendaries i.e sunrise or twilight and then try to make Eternity will not work since it still acts as if it’s an “exotic”.

So easy solution for this is that you can go to weapon specialist in LA and trade your legendary for the same legendary with the desired stats ,because transmuting legendary is such a crazy thing to do in first place , I’m running with such a low dps do to my legendary stats but I would never transmuted it because when u do that u get “transmuted” and not “legendary” weapon ,and that would be an easy solution for the people that already transmuted their legendary ,they could trade in transmuted weapon in for the legendary with desired stats and also use it if they wont to make Eternety …sorry for the bad english not my first language

And the issue is a DIFFERENT problem than what this original thread was for. Basically, the thread was revived and hijacked.

The problem to allow transmuted items in recipes is likely not as straight forward to fix, because the recipes are looking for a specific item, and a transmuted item is not that specific item. It may have the name, but it is obviously not exactly the same, therefore it is rejected when it is checked.

edit: Maybe mods decided to merge the 2 issues at some point, I’m not going to try and figure out, but point is, the issue presented in this thread should die and be buried, as it is a different problem and needs it’s own topic and likely has it’s own.

If I had known that I would not be able to make eternity if I transmuted my twilight I never would have transmuted it but it was not common knowledge for me so im just finding this out now and I must say im very disappointed that I can not make eternity. im also very disappointed that my twilight will not get the status boots when the new ascended weapons come out because my twilight is no longer considered a legendary. I really do hope they fix this in the next patch or at a minimum the patch that releases the new ascended weapons. I really don’t fell that players should be penalized for wanting different status on there legendary I mean unless your always playing a pure bunker build OR your trait trees allow you to get the traits you want with out needing the stats form other great swords then the legendary great sword status are just terrible for some perfusions. Is there any update to a coming fix for this Arena net???

Yes, you should not transmute Twilight or Sunrise if you plan to make Eternity. Once you have Eternity, you should be able to transmute it just fine while keeping the purple name. Sure, it says ‘transmuted’ instead of ‘legendary’ in the mouse-over, but it’s not like it stops being a legendary weapon. Maybe it does stop being a legendary to Zommy, but who cares what he thinks? He’s a greedy, mean, RNG demon anyway.

has been 10 month we wait, “transmute” problem still not fix… Zommy really hate Twilight transmute!….sighs Eternity.
