What happened to Oakhearts?
Lol. From the picture, they look like the Ranger spirits. Probably a bug.
Oh okay, so it was a bug. (Topic moved) I thought someone put it in as a joke or there secretly were evil Quaggan Pirates behind the devolution of Oakhearts..
My mistake! I made a tree spirit for the Heart of the Terebinth and must have inadvertently swapped all the normal oakhearts with the spirit version. :P
But they are really cute! (Well you shouldn’t have swapped them all at once.. but it is a cute bug)
o_O does this mean the Champion in Queensdale is also this tiny?
Champs are unaffected, thankfully.

What’s really odd (if you ask me) is that some of the veteran oakhearts in Queensdale got smaller and apparently lost their veteran status. But many of them retained their veteran border and original size. But as far as I can tell, there was no difference with those before the patch — they were all veterans.

Haha, that’s the best mistake ever
It reminds me of the time in GW1 where all the Necro minions were accidentally made larger in size.

I really like them like that….nice change in my opinion.
@Jeffrey Vaughn:
You have my respect for showing, that devs are human beings and for making some of us smile
If there was a “bug of the year” award, you would have my vote for sure. (Actually I like this version of the Oakhearts much better – cute and shiny!)
I like these More “acornhearts” than “oakhearts” but they are cute and I petition for the inclusion of acornhearts in the game.
An Officer and a Gentlewoman
Haha, yes! I really like that. Jeffrey, the Great.

So the little fellow will be the spirit representation for the tree from here on? Nice.
Having a “chat” with a tree was a bit weird, even for a sylvari.
Just here to add that the Veteran Oakhearts in Gendarran Fields are not only small, but no longer veterans. The Daily Achievement does not increment when one is killed.
BTW couldn’t you leave some of these around the world as a normal version?
We don’t have many plants to kill so instead of only having the veterans roaming around they could be accompanied by those saplings.
I prefer the old Oakhearts. They have a “majestic” look about them, fitting for a ancient tree. These little pip-squeeks are ok, but hope they change back to their original appearance.

Hey, even majestic Oakhearts were pipsqueak saplings once.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I actually hope these spirits can be added as rare randomized spawns throughout the world. They’d add a bit more meaning/lore to the Ranger skills knowing that Tyria actually HAS wild nature spirits.
Some sort of fun interaction with the spirits would be a nice touch, but just seeing them once in a while would be good enough for me.
I like it :P

I agree. I would like some of them to remain. It does make the ranger skills feel like they make a bit more sense and it also goes well with the whole plant slayer chievo… we’ve killed so many that some of them are now ghosts… or something like that… which fits perfectly with a dynamic world being affected by player activity.

I’m curious as to why the error of incorrect models being displayed has not been corrected yet, considering there have been 6 updates to the game since the issue was first reported and also since you yourself responded stating you knew exactly what caused it to happen 11 days ago?
- Are you planning to not correct the mistake?
- Is the “inadvertent swapping” of all Oakhearts actually a serious issue to correct instead of simply correcting what model is displayed for that ‘monster’ as it should be?
- Are you now making adjustments to how newly developed content makes changes to the live game without having first been tested to view the impacts on other areas of the game that this content will have? Making these adjustments would better allow this content to be reversed to its previous version, or even disabled, in the live game until the content with the error has been corrected with proper testing to view its effects before reintroduction into the next build.
I also agree with some of the above posters in that I, too, like seeing the small Spirit Oakhearts, but would prefer it to be only a portion of them and not all of them, as I enjoy the majestic nature of the originally designed, larger Oakhearts as well.

I have started to develop the impression that they have reduced the number of yellow veteran mobs spawning, as the number of veteran dolyaks in Wayfarers seems lower than before (or maybe the traffic in the area has been reduced since F&F).
