i salvaged 50 rares and agen 0nly 1 ecto realy

This is what I dreaded after the ecto fix.

After each patch people will always doubt.

I salvaged 9001 rares and it actually removed ecto from my inventory! Alert the presses, the bug is back!

Salvaged 1 rare, got me 3 ectos.

Are you using the right kits ? Master Salvage kit/BL Salvage kit?
Are you salvaging Rares lvl 70+?

If so, that’s bad luck!

I salvaged 2 rares and got 2 ectos (1 each), so I hardly think they did something
Try using master salvage kits instead of crude ones

Maybe OP is salvaging lvl 50 rares ;p

There was no update, the server just kicked in a new event sequence.

1)there was an update yesterday so the bug could be back…
2)don’t count out bad luck.
3)The bug entailed a change from a 0-3 chance to a 0-1 chance.

Therefore, if anyone can confirm they got more than one ecto from a rare/exotic then the bug is still squashed.

Just got 2 ecto from a rare.

Same here, used Black Lion Salvage Kit and got 1 ecto from 10 lev 80 rares…
It’s not bad luck, it’s the bug that came back for BLSK

I’m still occasionally getting 3 ectos from rares and exotics.

5 rares, 8 ectos with a master salvage kit. Seems to be working ok to me…

I’m having this issue again as well. 19 rares, with master salvage kit, 2 ecto. 13 rares with black lion salvage kit, 1 ecto.

I find it extremely hard to believe this is just bad luck :/ this is worse for me than when it was last bugged just a week or two ago.

Just salvaged a thousand lvl80 rares with the master’s kit:

870 ectos / 1000 rares averaging to 0.87

Had everything from 0 to 3. Everything is absolutely in normal range.

Again: as long as you can’t provide sample sizes of at least a hundred, better some hundred, refrain from assuming any change in any RNG-rate.

I’ve had a proper bad luck streak yesterday with BL kits. But not when I tried the masterwork ones. /shrug

I would really be interested in knowing what they use as the RNG seed. Is it tied to anything dealing with character creation? Some characters seem to have extreme luck with RNG and others horrible. I know someone that just found their 3rd precursor (2 drops and one on 7th try with Mystic Forge).

Why does everybody believe, that different accounts/characters have different rng-chances? Is that just the human desire to make up some explanation if something is beyond ones understanding? Or is it the attempt to blame karma, destiny, the universe or some random developer for just being unlucky? I will never understand…

See post above. Because it has happened. Because it has not happened in your experience, does not mean it never has nor that it couldn’t again.

You say that like people weren’t making threads about that everything single BEFORE that bug. This is not a change this is just how people have been for a long time.
