Hi Michael, a question bout the Community Team – what does that actually mean from the player’s perspective? What does the Community Team do?

Just a note about Gaile, when I was wrongly banned (twice) – Gaile was brilliant in being efficient / effective / patient / professional in helping me out.

Can’t wait to go looking for the frog again!

Gaile was the Jedi Knight of the Support team handling the support problems as human and not as “auto-generated support message” :<

On the other hand her communication and being always human skills will greatly improve the community interaction (as it was in gw1 i guess).

Does Martin leaving have anything to do with this? Is she replacing Martin (thus returning to her previous job before support)?

Most of you know that Gaile has moved from Customer Support to a new (and very awesome) role over at the Community team. She’s still nearby so I think I can still hit her with my trebuchet – I’ll report results soon.

What this means, simply, is that she won’t be handling CS tickets anymore.

It seems like a good opportunity to express my thanks to all of the account issues support team, but Gaile in particular for really having a huge visibility and impact in the support forums – every time I’ve been in there (and I pop my head in often) she’s always updating people and making sure that the SLA promises made are kept to.

I totally wish her all the best in her new role – it’s more than clear that it’s an awesome fit! Congrats!

OMG! I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Gaile to move up the ladder. I’m sure she’ll continue to earn the trust of the players the old fashioned way: Through her integrity and commitment to the player base. She embodies that old saying: “Hire attitude, you can teach everything else.”

She was the best I’ve ever seen in any game community back then.

But GW1 had a bunch of quiet, polite, well-behaved kindergarten kids as players compared with some people GW2 has attracted.

Good luck, Gaile! After being so visible for so long, in a lot of ways, you are the face of Anet. At least, you’re the bit that always makes me smile.

Whenever bad stuff happens to the playerbase (bugs, account issues, craptastic updates, whatever) seeing Gaile Gray show up generally means things are going to be alright.
