Account Suspended - Name Violation
You did receive notification. You posted it in your message. If this is a first offense, you will probably be able to log back in quite soon, and change the offensive name. If this is not your first offense, then you will probably have to serve out the suspension. If the name is especially offensive, a suspension is sometimes given at the first offense. If, after a few hours, you are still unable to log in, you can contact Customer Support, and they will explain which character’s name is the problem. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. It is my first “offense,” but I just can’t think of what my offense would even be.
By notification, I meant specific verbiage related to my suspension. The name “XXXXX” violates our TOS. Click here to change your name, for example.
A generic message and instant 72 hour ban without any explanation seems a little harsh given none of my names are offensive, resemble historical figures, sexual, etc. I’m interested in finding out what name is even in violation. Hopefully you are right and things will be restored soon, but I have a feeling this one was a mistake on their part.
Well, you could list your character names here, and the forum users could possibly point you in the right direction, or affirm your suspicion. We have seen many, many cases of unacceptable names. Or, you could try googling your character names; sometimes, a name is offensive in another language, and the creator of the name is unaware of the cultural differences. =)
Be my guest
Allucinatius, C H O S E N, Tyr Svallin, Necibus, Baal Samael (i think that’s the spelling, I never play that guy)
I don’t see anything bad in there?
It could be the character named Baal. One of the seven demons of Hell. Lucifer, Satan, etc. are not allowed, being religious references.
Or someone might have felt Allucinatius was close the Hallucinatory, a drug reference, though that one is a bit of a stretch.
I hope it’s the Baal one. That’s a level 8 guy I made a long time ago and never play. I don’t mind dropping that one. I can’t say I agree with it being offensive (or deserving a 72 hour ban), since I was using it with the reference to "is a Northwest Semitic title and honorific meaning “master” or “lord.”
Allucinatius is my main and yeah I think that one is too much of a stretch to be considered offensive and especially a drug reference.
Either way, I’m just confused as to how any of those would constitute an auto-suspension of 72 hours. If it breaks the TOS, it would seem to be more fair to just request I change the name on next log in.
As I said, it isn’t usually a 72-hour suspension for a first offense. It is true that it shows up like that, at first, but it is usually only a short time before you can log back in and change the offending name. Just keep trying to log in. =)
Sounds like a plan. Thanks for the help, I’ll give it a go later and see if I have any luck.
You are most welcome. =)
If you disagree with the GM decission you can always make a support ticket.
I have gone over the names listed here and honestly don’t see anything wrong. Baal is not a purely christian reference but used in many many relgions for the chaos-power (underworldboss, demon, bad guy, etc). It isnt a religious statement at all.
Necibus is a bit tricky as well, but not more as baal. Cause it translates as slaughters or violent deaths. The plural form is indesisive either. One translates roughly as ’ move to violent deaths’ but the other translates as ‘against violent deaths’
Beside a plural form of the latin world Nex I don’t see something wrong with this.
You can always ask support to explain themself.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
