I logged on farmed Skelks in southsun cove for powerful bloods and Vicious fangs, did Shatterer and talked with Guildies then logged out, came back on and got the

“Your guild wars 2 Account has been terminated due to botting, extended unattended play, and using macros, or similar behavior. Attempting to automate gameplay through any means or attempting to circumvent idle-time restritions in any way is in violation of the user agreement and Rules of Conduct. The account closure is permanent.

I have been playing for almost 2800 hours, have farmed my Legendary (working on a second one) and formed a nice guild over the month, I have been buying gems respectably from your store and have been nice to players I’ve come across.

I have absolutely no reason to be botting.. and enjoy this game too much with my hours invested to throw everything away. I have been farming everything legit spending long hours in dungeons and farming other tier 6 material.

So please if you can look into this problem and give me a fair trial I would be grateful.

I recommend submitting a ticket, as folks here on the forums can’t do anything for you. Go to support, and submit a request. If they find the ban was done in error, they will reverse it.

Thank you I did just that. Hopefully they can get this resolved for me.. for the better, if not I’m probably going to have to take a huge break from guild wars and look back at what I’ve done.

This has just happened to my girlfriend’s account. Last night she was killing Trolls in Wayfarer’s (to work on Troll Slayer achievement), today she’s banned for the exact same reason as OP.

She’s submitting a support ticket, but I hope it gets resolved before dailies reset tomorrow. We never miss the dailies! :-(

It’s crazy because I see botters all the time, and I know for a fact when they are. Most are easy to spot, though some are tricky! I report them, yet I see them logged on for day after day, botting away.

My friends same you. He login 2 accs and logout after 30s to play Dota 2 with me. And 1 hours later , he got ban ( He did not play gw2 about 2 mounts , each week only login about 5 minutes ) .
He sent a ticket > 24h and still no reply.

I don’t understand.

Support are the only ones who can help, so tickets are the way to go. Remember to give it 72 hours before posting again if you’ve not heard or you want Gaile to try and review it.

Also, keep in mind that the account may have been suspended/terminated for something that happened some time ago, as they don’t auto-ban and very rarely ban on the same day as receiving a flag on an account.

Yes, but waiting 72 hours (or longer) to get your account back for something you did not do is a pain. My girlfriend is very upset, and I cannot blame her. Also, we’re aware it could have been suspended/terminated for something some time ago, but given she has never done anything against ToS, it is a little heartbreaking. I know none of you really care, and some might even suspect otherwise.

In the end, they will either refuse to give it back, in which we will have to fight them on it (big hassle), or they will give it back and say “Oops, sorry”. The problem is that they really need to refine their methods. Because somewhere somehow, somebody kittened up and couldn’t tell the difference between a real player and a bot. If I seem annoyed or upset, wouldn’t you be as well? To tell me “they do the best they can” I cannot believe it. For the company I work for, when we detect cheaters we at least send them a message detailing what has happened, and why it happened. Rarely we are wrong. In the few cases we have been wrong, we were quick to reverse our mistake without the player losing irreplaceable time.

To be clear – I’m not pleading they remedy it quickly, or calling them out on screwing up. I’m simply detailing the little bit of havoc this mistake can cause. I don’t enjoy seeing my girlfriend sad and upset. I’m also afraid she might not want to return to the game after this problem is resolved.

Three million players. Do you believe that Arenanet has hundreds of support personal?

Three million players, with maybe dozens of tickets created PER hour, and limited support personel.

They will get to it. Believe me. Response is usually 2-7 business days, not including the weekends.

Contrary to the above poster’s assertions, Customer Support is staffed and works 24/7/365. If you have heard nothing about your issue from CS within 72 hours, you may post your ticket number is the appropriate Sticky for a review.

I understand how you and your girlfriend feel, this account was ‘permanently banned’ for Gold-selling, but..as you can see…after much discourse with CS, I convinced them (and rightly so), that a mistake had taken place. Even CS agents are human, and errors can occur. I am sure the outcome to your issue will be what is rightly deserved. Good luck. =)

Oh, and Skeletonwitch, in the future, it might be better to make your own thread, rather than using someone else’s for individual matters such as this.

I waited 3 weeks, with each response from anet being up to 3-4 days per communique. I’m not saying their slow at all. I’m saying that eventually they would get to you.

I am saying that there is a large player base, they have limited personel, and these things will take time.

:) And yes, I was impatient to get BACK into the game, just like everyone else here.

You should have recieved an automatic reply (the only automated reply you would get) shortly after submitting your ticket. If you didn’t, check your spam folders. If you still can’t, read this :

EDIT: And it does say it can take up to 72 hours. If it takes longer than that, and you have a ticket number, post in the sticky thread for such tickets.

I’m a friend and guildie of his, he isn’t able to respond because they deactivated his forum account. Still no response from Anet, I’ll post on the 72 hour thread for him with his ticket number if he doesn’t hear back by tonight.

Make sure the user hacked has changed the password of the associated email account. A hacker that compromises an email account will NOT change the password in hopes that the email will continue to be used and provide info that will allow access to financial resources beyond game accounts (something VERY serious). They will also monitor the email and delete all correspondence with support sites to keep the email owner unaware of their attempt to compromise other sites and accounts.
