I was just wondering if else knew why these random lag spikes (Rendering the game unplayable) keep happening. It’s the first time it’s happened for me and it’s quite frustrating when they seem to almost randomly occur. A video reference for what happens can be found here

I’m also 99% sure that my internet connection isn’t the issue as it stays live the whole time and this was a recent speed test. This has only started happening since the new Cutthroat Politics event came out, anyone else?

I experience lag spikes everytime they introduce something new. so every two weeks i have to deal with the frustration it causes.

and of course it is my ISP that loves to mess with the server every two weeks.

Yes, it’s clearly your connection that’s laggy.

I also have a connection that randomly lags out when new content is released, must be coincidence.

I personally haven’t had any lag, but maybe thats me. In the video posted, your skill bar is just lit up, can you tell me whats going on there? 1-5 on the bar looks like you are spamming the skills, is that you or the game?

That’s what it looks like when you lag out.

Your client is trying to perform the skills, but the server doesn’t respond, so it just cycles through the animation that usually happens before the skills trigger.

yeah it’s just the server lagging out. Idk, it gets really frustrating that my gameplay experience is so heavily compromised by new content :/ I was just getting back in to the game as well after a few months break from it. It’s also really weird that the guild chat was still functional while this was all happening.

This happened with the Dragon Bash update as well, and all Anet said was “it seems you’re having problems with your ISP blah blah blah it’s not our fault blah blah blah”.

Yes, for some reason my ISP (as well as other ISP’S around the world) decided to change something the SAME DAY an update got released in the game, but, for some reason, GW2 is the only game I’m having problems with. It’s always the same, after every single update my game starts lagging.

It’s such a shame, Anet doesn’t care about us because we’re the minority, a company like this shouldn’t be able to exist. They needed ALMOST TWO MONTHS to fix what they did with the Dragon Bash. I shouldn’t be wasting my time tipping this, because I already know what’s going to happen: nothing.

Shame on you, Anet. I can’t play knowing that the next update will unable me to play.

Yeah I’m having the same issue and it’s only been happening in the last few days and earlier in the week and last week it was a string of crashing. I’ve lost to many winning battles now lol.

I’m having random lag spikes too. It’s very hard to play this way especially when they happen in combat in WvW.

So no one of Anet is going to adress this issue?

after watching the forum for a few weeks, i believe they are, but also after reading a few posts from the developers and in the wvw string, I suspect that the solutions will take time. Had they not wanted to address this, you would have seen more posts deleted and threads locked. It’s just frustrating because they can’t fix it overnight. I have a feeling something happened with the events that caused something bigger than they expected.

It might be a good time to revisit gw1 till this is sorted out ….. which btw ….I’m really upset at the idea that it can take months to years in gw1 just to get enough points to get this dull looking felblade skin, but you can easily purchase a fancy looking legendary …..I’m feeling kind of dissed on that ….makes me feel kinda silly for having been so excited about gw2 considering all these issues. my loyalty was paid with a chicken bone and severe lag :p

Yes me and my partner only bought the game 3 weeks ago and we have been getting kicked out roughly after 10 minutes of playtime, so much so that it is unplayable, Use a MAc and a PC to play. I m currently going through the system but i currently have little faith in it actually working.
