Here is the story about how you can get suspended unfairly !

I and my wife decided to come back to gw 2 with HoT 2-3 weeks ago. So we bought the expansion and started to play again after 1 year break up. We really enjoyed the game again and we were happy for coming back to this game.

Normally we dont like jumping puzzles or such achievements . Just we like to play together some meta events like Auric Basin , Dragon Stand , and fractals. But this time she decided to complete all winterdays achievements and she wanted that shoulder skin.

So she completed jumping puzzle achievement. You need to complete it 15 times for achievement and she completed JP only 20 times or so. Only problem is 10000 drink (Festive Imbiber achievement). So she bought 2000-3000 drinks . but then she knew she cant complete that achievement with 20g earning per day so she gave up. and we didnt go divinity reach again.

We were doing fractals , VB AB DS meta events. and also we got huge lag problem called (Rubber banding). We were disconnecting every 10-15mins in meta events. so i decided to send a ticket(2034376) about this problem . after i sent that ticket a new build available. So we updated the game and went to sleep.

Morning , she logged in and saw that she got suspended for modifying or tampering with the game(6 months ban). We were shocked. then i logged in and there were nothing wrong about my account . She sent a ticket(2035566) about this ban . And also i got an answer for our lag problem ticket. i followed instructions and runned Game Advisor. Sent them reply with Game Advisor results. While we were waiting answer for why she get suspended , i got a new reply for out lag issue. Result is packet loss which is avarage of %70 .

Then she got answer for why she get suspended. They said that she used third party programs. The funny thing is she doesnt know what a third party program is. we thought there were a mistake and they will unban her account. we sent them screenshots of gw2 folder , her game advisor results . they said “the decision to suspend the account is irreversible and we maintain absolute confidence in our conclusion” . Yea of course yea . u can maintain ur confidence but we cant.

How can she get a advantage of 20g earning per day from VB,AB meta events? why the hell i let her to use any program for this game ? we played this game in party with her %100 of time . Why i didnt get suspended ? How can i know that i wont get suspended for nothing? How can i trust your poor detection system ?

Im really tired and sick of sending you replies . We know that she didnt use any third party programs. And we maintain absolute confidence in our conclusion !

She needs to contact support. Posting thread after thread on the issue will not help her or move her forward in the queue.

If it’s been longer than 3 days since she received the automatic reply, you can post in the sticky thread for tickets for review.

no , we want a full investigation about this ban . their automated detection system is broken . Just read whole story and make a full investigation about this ban. i dont want to hear your cheat detection system’s report about her.

Just persist, they tend to say that it’s final to deter people who did cheat. It’s merely a dissuasion for actual cheaters to pester them.

If it’s more than 3 days, you could try the sticky thread.

twice? Let me clarify that for you my white knight.

That was 1 year ago when i bought gw 2 from my credit card for me and my wife , and Digital River refund 2nd game key for security reasons so Anet suspended that account. Then she bought the game again with her credit card. She is still playing with that account.

thats not the point. We just want a full investigation about her ban.

And from what I’ve seen unless it’s a review of a ticket response, Michael doesn’t respond to tickets that haven’t had a response unless 3 days have passed since that’s the time frame support is given to get a response out.

No automated bot ban system is perfect. There will always be a chance an innocent will get caught in the detection. Once she’s discussed things with support, her account will be cleared and the ban overturned, if they find no evidence of wrong doing.

I would advise her to be firm, yet polite. And if she’s understanding of the situation, instead of accusatory like you’ve been. The system isn’t broken. It’s just not perfect. And unfortunately no system will ever be perfect.

Too far to the definitely botting side and you risk too many false negatives. Too close to normal ranges and you risk too many false positives. There’s not a spot where neither false negatives or false positives will be possible (unless you either ban no one or ban everyone).

Could they tweak the algorithm to prevent more false positives than now? Quite possibly.

I am sorry for the fact that she got caught as a false positive.

We are thinkin about anyhing that can happened to her , and we found one . She is playing Revenant (Herald) . While in Dragon Stand meta event , on mid lane , she used her 3rd sword skill ( Unrelenting Assault ) for a mob near the rock , and she stucked in that rock . This happened 2 times to her in Dragon Stand meta.

We will continue to remember any bug that can be the reason for ban.

Luck just isn’t with you when you try to play gw2 is it? Sorry to pry but I was rather surprised to see a similar post a year ago, I’m guessing that’s what led to not playing for a year?
