Can't update game
This could be related to security software AKA Anti-virus, firewall etc.
I would configure Antivirus and firewall settings
and I would also turn of UAC or
Run Gw2 as Administrator
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder.
2. Right click on GW2.exe and select properties.
3. Once the properties window is open you will then choose the compatibility tab.
4. Place a check in the last option labeled “Run this program as an administrator.”
5. Click “Ok.”
6. Run the game
Corsair Pro AX1200 / SoundBlaster ZxR/ Windows 8 Pro x64 (+WMC) EFI Instal
Disabling my firewall as well as my antivirus did not change anything. I always have UAC disabled and I also tried running it as Admin but that didn’t help either. The problem persists.
Hi Dedalus – If you’re still having this problem I’d like to collect a Game Advisor report so I can look into why you might be experiencing this issue. You can download the Game Advisor application at the link below:
http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor/
Please note that you will be automatically prompted to install Game Advisor upon clicking the link. Once you’ve generated the report, you can attach it to this thread by clicking “More posting & formatting options…”
Attached is the requested file.

Should I try reinstalling or do I have other options?
I tried reinstalling it, but I still have the same problem. I would really appreciate some help here.
I have the same exact problem.
Found the problem after uninstalling GW2, then tried to reinstall, said my drive was dirty. Error check fixed the drive and now able to reinstall. Looks like the patch causes an error on the drive.
Hi Dedalus. – I saw your reply in another thread. Sorry I missed this one – sometimes threads can get lost and I just can’t quite catch them all, so again, I apologize.
One thing I’d suggest is to try moving your client out of the default directory and running as Admin this way. To do this, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder, which by default should be C:\Program Files(x86)\Guild Wars 2.
2. Move this folder to a new location like C:\Games\Guild Wars 2. The location doesn’t matter specifically, as long as it’s outside of Program Files and Program Files(x86).
3. Navigate to this new location and “Right-click” on “GW2.exe” selecting “Create Shortcut.”
4. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode.”
5. “Right-click” on “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode” and select “Properties.”
6. Click the “Compatibility” tab.
7. Checkmark “Run this program as an Administrator.”
8. Click “Ok.”
Once completed, please double click “Guild Wars 2 Admin Mode” and try playing Guild Wars 2 again.
Hope this helps. If I miss your response again feel free to send me a PM so I can take another look at your thread so I can be of further assistance
