Cannot log in
Unfortunatelly I have the same problem, but I am having this after download patch from server.
I tried it from another computer with no success
I am getting the same problem. Was playing like 2 hours ago now trying to log in getting the same crash report. I tried to reinstall but still no success. some on help!!
Are you both in the UK? might be linked to location server for some reason
I was logged in and suddenly my game crashed. When i tried to enter the menssage appeared :

I tried to log into another computer over my account is still giving the same error.
I would like to know why this error and what procedure should i do to solve this problem
yep same problem for a few of us. Guessing its a problem at their end have tried to repair the client but still getting the same serious error message. If anyone has any luck please post here will help a few of us out!!

Yep same for me. My reinstall didn’t help. I have sent a ticket to see what reply I get. seems to be after wvw reset it started happening. I am from uk where are you?
I am from the Czech Republic and still have no login success. Reinstallation of GW2 did not help me. Reset password did not help me.. and I cannot create a ticket, because after Submit my ticket I have received a blank screen.. not so good kitten

I’m having this problem as well. Was playing fine yesterday, woke up today and can’t play. I’m from the USA if that helps.
Not sure if there’s any other relevant information, but I did send in a crash report. Hopefully this gets noticed soon.
Yep still the same problem for me. Have tried restoring previous computer backups to before the problem but still not working. Have reinstalled the client. Have reset my ip address still nothing. I am guessing it a problem their end. Maybe our accounts are all stored on the same server and it is down? We will have to wait and see. Do any of you have other accounts ? Do they still work?
I have had this issue since this patch also; however, I know that it doesn’t affect everyone, since my brother can log onto his account just fine.
Anyway, I noticed no one posted a bug report, so I’m posting the one I sent to ArenaNet:

Hey, i ran into same problem yesterday, i made a ticked to the support guys they asked for some tests and now i’m waiting for the response. It seams that is not a isolated problem. I guess they introduce a bug in the latest patch. I’m sure that they will fix it is soon as possible. Have a nice day.

Quick update on my end—my brother woke up, so we were able to test some things. He was able to sign in on his account on his computer and I was able to on his account on mine, but we can’t sign in on my account on either of our computers. We have the exact same type of computer and we bought our accounts within the same hour with the same debit card.
The only major difference I can think of when I logged out last night was I did a little bit of EoTM before getting off, while he did not. This was after the server reset, I believe, since I was Overgrowth rather than being Frostreach as I’m used to. (I’m new to the game, I didn’t know team switching was a thing).
The reason I mention this is that other people I’ve seen have mentioned this happening after the server reset, so it may be linked to WvW. What was everyone else doing when you last logged off?
I was in WvW and logged off while still in EB. An hour later I could not get back on.
I dont think this have to do with WvW, i logged out my account at Silverwaste last night.
Same problem over here. Only difference is that I disconnected and when i tried to reconnect the error came up. Tried reinstalling, repairing, etc. Nothing worked.
Wierd thing is, I didn’t had any updates upon restarting the client. Atleast non that I noticed off.

so. I wasn’t on the wvw when it happened.
I was in splintered coast killing the Tequatl when the game crashed.
After the erro i couldn’t log in anymore.
All suffered somehow. some step out of the WvW and others in other parts of the map.

Nope. Not yet, at least. Redownloading the game now, even though from what others have said it won’t help.
I asked on Reddit and a couple people are having problems there as well, but nobody has said what the fix is.
One guy said to delete the local.dat file, but it seems that didn’t help me, so not sure if that’s our answer. =/
Maybe we should try to figure out what else is similar in all of our circumstances? I’ve got no idea what we can do at this point but try to collect more data.
I am having the exact same issues as everyone else – I opened a ticket to Arena who came back with please download and run game advisor and send report back, which i did.
After completely blowing away GW2 and Appdata twice i tried connecting with another account which worked. But still trying to log in with my account on the same machine i get same error:

I tried to connect via VPN into European server but still same issue.
Has anyone tried and just asking a clean install / new OS. Reason i am asking is the only thing i have not done is tweaked by registry.
Keeping fingers crossed this gets fixed soon.

I’m trying clean install right now, but other people have said that it doesn’t work. Don’t think new OS will help but I do have a computer that I recently wiped, could try installing GW2 on there and see, but I’ve tried on two computers with 2 accounts, one works on both and one doesn’t work on both.

I think we just have to hope Arena finds this issue and remediates it soon.

Still cant log in atm. Id already replied to anet’s email, given them game advisor’s report and still waiting for their reply again. I’m a little bit worried for my account which I already invested so much money on it. I hope anet give us on time details regarding this problem or even a statement.
Seem to be lots of people affected by this. Hope they get it fixed very soon. As you say Jay we have all put a lot of time and money into our characters and frustration is definitely building now.
So far status(directions given by support people):
1)I run game adviser twice with service and start up programs enable and without
2)Replace the Gw2.exe with the one on they’re servers and repair.
3)Run the game as Administrator
4)Run repair as administrator
5)Delete local file from app-data and the gw2.tmp from game directory.
6)Run the game on a separate windows account
None of the above worked, same crash error. I’m waiting for the answer from support on the sixth or seventh email. I guess if you guys are impatience you could try these but for my didn’t work.

I can start on the same installation of GW2 with another account (account of my son) and I do not have problem with connection to the game. The problem is only with my account and after download of last patch.
I hope that ArenaNet send us any satisfaction for it I lost 3 daily achievments for example :-D
Try bypassing the launcher:
Right click a shortcut to GW2 and select properties. Under the shortcut tab, you should see a text box with “Target:” in front of it. Edit the path in the text box as follows, entering your own information:
"C:\Example\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe" -email your@email.com -password yourpassword -nopatchui

i guess the problem is in our account database. i have no problem logging in my other account and im using the same game client. if the game client is the problem both of my account wont log in. id also try to fix it by the same methods above but still the problem persists.

Tried to bypass the launcher and still the same message. Thank for the option though. Must be something at their end. Post up if you make any progress missing the game now lol might have to buy another account :-(

If any admins see this… Guys you have to understand we are loosing daily rewards! (Yes They Will Come LATE)… Any chance we get them after you will find a solution for this nonsense? (I mean forwarded for the days we were unable to log in)…
Same issue here. I have tried the following:
1. Repairing the game client
2. Deleting the appdata GW2 folder
3. Reinstalling the game in a different folder
4. Installing the game on my Mac partition
5. Removing and reinstalling my video card drivers
I finally attempted to log in on my friend’s computer and it threw the same error.
Save yourself the time. This seems to be on Arenanet’s end. Need a fix ASAP!

Same issue. Though at first I kept losing the client, then I got the same error as above. Ran repair and was then able to log back in. UK.
Experiencing the same issue. I did a fractal dungeon and logged out in divinities reach, Upon trying to log back in 30 minutes later I got this error.
Things I have tried
- Ran a repair on the game client
- Try and run the game in compatibility WinXP through Windows 8 while in Administrator
- Release/Renew IP
- Set static IP, pull manual DNS from Google DNS at 8.8.8.8 — 4.4.4.4
- Logged on to my account on my laptop, same issue.
Seems more of an account issue that is entirely out of our hands. Hope this helps!
Hadnt noticed this thread before, I was trying to get some commonalities for all of us having problems in another thread. I hadnt heard the account issue thing before. Nice to see Tech responded in this thread at least.
Was at my in-laws today and tried to log into the game on my Surface Pro 3 (which runs the game BEAUTIFULLY btw, and fast) and got this error. Tried all the suggestions above (fix admin, fix read only, repair client, etc. etc.) but still the sam problem. Figured it was a problem with the network at my in-laws, wasn’t worried.
Now home at my own PC and getting the exact same message. So clearly it isn’t the gw.exe file or the game client at my end. Something is going on with my account?
Not panicking because not playing my favorite game tonight isn’t the end of the earth, but I am mildly frustrated, was going to participate in guild missions tonight.

Yeah, it seems it is our accounts, sadly. I can log onto my brother’s account on both of our computers, but my account crashes on both of our computers.
Probably the problem is in our accounts..
I believe that some type of error on the server that stores the information.
unfortunately we have to wait to know that going on and be able to return to play
