Cannot log in
All I really want is to be able to play again. Compensation would be nice, but isn’t absolutely necessary.
When is support going to realize that this isn’t an issue with anyone’s computer? Please redirect any support replies to this thread. Per everyone’s response who have received a reply from support, they have asked each of you to run a diagnostic. This will do nothing as it seems to be a non-hardware issue. I have tried logging in on 3 different computers to no avail which run GW2 flawlessly when using a different account.

No, I’m saying that when you submit your reply to support, also send a link to this thread so they can see commonalities between us.

Support did reply to my ticket and I did the steps they suggested knowing it wasn’t going to solve the issue.
When I replied back I did indeed include a link to this thread. They replied with yet another step to resolve. Which did not work. I replied again with a link to this thread
just logged in a few hours ago, then my game crashed, tried logging in but error code: 42:0:9001:4409 keeps popping out. does anyone has the same issue?
I have sent another ticket today including this thread. Hopefully they will begin to listen.
Actually I thought it was interesting that when I completed the Web form to register this problem, Aneta has a link to this thread under “common isues”.
I am more concerned than I was initially about this issue because:
1. No one has come here and said their problem has gone away. It seems that once the log in bug strikes it is permanent.
2. Nobody has posted here that Support has solved their issue. So Aneta does not seem to have a solution yet.
If I am wrong about either of these observations please post here and correct me.

No you are absolutely right. Nothing support tells us to do works, because it isn’t our PCS. Anet has not even provided us with a status update. They aren’t responding on Twitter or Reddit either.
Day 5, still can’t log in, no email reply and no status report? Atleast give us assurance that you’re doing everything to fix this unprecedented problem, you add to our frustration and worries just by not updating us. We are desperate to hear from you.
I guess they are to busy showing off Heart of Thorns to the press, then to acknowledge and fix our problem.

Doesn’t hurt to post on there anyway. I posted my ticket there just now. I am sure they are well aware of what is going on, they just haven’t communicated much to us. That is the most frustrating and or annoying part.

New build soon, hopefully we’ll be able to get on. Doubtful, with the lack of a response, though.
EDIT: No luck, at least on my end. Guess we’ll just have to wait for a response.

This whole thing is rather unfortunate. I have a couple friends who are in this thread and have the log on error. I’ve tried to log on to their accounts from my computer. Sadly it was a no go. I can log onto my account with no issues, thankfully. They both were using LFG at one point close to the log on error happening, and it seems a lot of people in here have had the similar symptom. What I’ve decided is that if this issue is not looked into promptly I’ll be sacrificing 100 Moa Birds across Tyria for all of you who cannot play until the issue is resolved. I know there is a new build that is supposed to come out today so hopefully this will help, and hopefully we can spare the Moa Birds. But, I mean business.

It had nothing to do with the build. We had a capable player stand up for what is right. Even willing to make sacrifices. Everyone loves a moa.

Just opening the launcher and leaving it there started it for me. If that doesn’t work, you may want to retry downloading the client entirely.
If THAT doesn’t work, we may still have a problem here…

Hey man! You can try deliting the GW2 settings located at:
C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
This might start patching the game and you should be good to go!
If it doesn’t work you can check the DNS but I don’t rly think that is an issue here…

Still suffering with this problem. A download started briefly but the applet disappeared as it was initializing and the error reporting window popped again.
Whatever you ‘tweaked’ a few days ago, please ‘un-tweak’ it. In some ways I hope others are still stuck with this problem, otherwise it will get forgotten and we will be left in limbo.

I’m glad I’m back in the game after 6 days !!!! , but I’m disappointed that ArenaNet did not send any compensation for the mistakes they made nor any apologies..

Pretty sure this is an ongoing account database corruption issue. Happened to me today. Sent in an error report, please fix asap and look into preventing further occurrences with other players.
Has anyone had this affect them recently or heard any news on its fix? I’ve not being playing regularly for a while but over the past week trying to log in this has occurred. Still unable to play.
Has anyone had a fix to this? my friend just got the game and is having this issue when downloading the game. he makes it to the bar that will eventually let you play the game once you hit playable.

So I haven’t been able to play this game since the start of summer 2013 now, but yesterday was my first time after all this time. I got to play for two minutes before the bug logged me out again. In the summer 2013, i got to the character selection, and when i pressed the ’’Play’’ button, the button froze and nothing happened. I waited about thirty seconds before the game closed entirely down and I had to re-open it. At this point I didn’t really worry. But then it happened again and again for about one and a half year. I gave up, because I had NO idea what to do, I’m not a computer nerd who can fix bugs like this at my own, and nobody could help me. So I just gave up. Like i mentioned earlier; yesterday I managed to get online. I was so happy! I played for about two minutes, discovered new Lion’s Arch. BOOM! The game crashes, and a split second I see a tiny message on my screen saying this:
1. I may be using a campus network to login

3. My router settings may be blocking access
4. Security Applications may be blocking access
Yeah, I get to play two minutes around every fifth time I try to login, but four out of five times, I don’t even get to the character selection.
If YOU know what I can do to fix this, please do tell me! I’m considering buying a new account, which I’m very sad about, at the same time happy because it’s been such a long time since I last played!
My main character’s name is Sangu, just in case this might help in any way (probably not) but I’m desperate. I know it’s only a game, but it’s the best game.

I had not been LFG. At the time of my Log Out I had just ran an instance with guild mates (which I did not use LFG for) and then logged out afterwards. I do not think it is related to LFG, if so I believe hundreds of more people would be posting about this. I believe it is connect to our account and permissions. (But I am not computer genius of any sorts)
I do agree with a previous post I read about “Compensation”. I would like to have the reward log ins that I would have had returned to me along with some type of Gem compensation due to the the missed Instances, World Bosses, and Farming.
I think the max you can expect is to gain the daily rewards back or a pick of primeval, profane or krytan armor skins.
Yeah, I haven’t been able to login, if you look for it, you can maybe find this big as book I just wrote in the reply’s. Yesterday I tried logging back in after 3 years, and I got online. I was very happy, until I got disconnected after two minutes. So that way, I found at that I can only play for two minutes after trying to login to my account after about five minutes.. I have this same problem in my mom house from about 2 weeks, but i can log perfectly fine at my dad house o.o
I still have the same problem though I guess not as bad. See, I can get the launcher going but if I just leave that up i get the crash like 30sec-5min in with it downloading updates from like a few months im sure (currently at 172,289 files remaining) but it is playable. If im fast enough to login and “play” it works fine for about an hour or so. Not to bad i guess. All in all though after and hour or so the crash comes on and boots me out. i dont know if maybe my “patch” is still in that 172k files or not but needless to say its still crashing on me.
Just patched, logged out shortly after and can’t log back in………….
