Got this message yesterday right after the patch released. I uninstalled the game, checked firewall, which has no reason whatsoever to do with it since the game worked fine before the patch release. After re-installed the game it finally worked. However, got the same problem again today after AN released that new patch. So…and btw I can’t even download the client yesterday after uninstalled the game and tried to re-installed back again. Not until today morning that the client finally connected to the server and began the download process. >.< so…any solution ^-^?

This is a problem from your end, please verify your Europe delivery network, I’ve had problem downloading the patch since yesterday.
This a problem on ArenaNet’s side. Ive also checked my Firewall. Nothing is blocked. Anti-Virus is also fine. Everything on my computer is accepting, but I also have trouble logging in. I can only log in at certain times of the day and its very frustrating.

I’m experiencing the same issue after the patch on the 19th. I’ve been able to reconnect for short periods at seemingly random intervals. Checked firewalls, connection is still the same, even tried repairing the client. Nothing is wrong on my end anymore and I still have the issue.

Hey ANet can you check your Firewalls and make sure you didnt accidently impliment a blacklist that was to extensive?
I cant imagine 1000+ users (guessing on the number of posts with this same problem) all suddenly adjusted their firewall settings to block GW2

I am having this exact problem for the last 5 days. I doubt its my connection as my browsing is fine and so are my games on steam. Please help ArenaNet this is very frustrating. I attach a guild wars 2 test log I hope this helps.

For any of you receiving this error please submit a ticket. As it stands, I’m not currently seeing anything that would indicate that this is an issue on our end and so in order to further investigate this issue, we’ll need to collect some more information from you guys. If this is in fact an issue on our end, I can then forward this information to the appropriate departments to look into getting this fixed.

Seems that loging in the foruns to complain about it makes it run.

Had the same problem for a week now and no problems with security or firewalls, I can connect to the Internet no problem and able to play EQ2 online so 100% sure that there’s nothing wrong my end, any help with a fix would be appreciated please.

For those of you guys getting this error, please try the following:
1. MSCONFIG
2. Google DNS
3. Router bypass
Beyond this, as mentioned previously, please submit a support ticket. If you would like to know the steps for using the Google Public DNS or Msconfig, please let me know (along with your OS!).

Having same issues since last patch. I cannot log into the client and i couldn’t log into the forums (Login website never loaded). So i changed the DNS server.
Now i can log into the forums again BUT i cannot log into the client. I dont even get to the point where i can type in my login information anymore. Apart from that thanks to the google public dns i cannot access my router anymore so im not gonna stay on that dns.
Im gonna try some other DNS maybe i have more luck then. Noted its only anets login server which gives me trouble every other website works fine on the default dns.

Just in case any of you are from Germany, specifically NRW, then it is most likely Telekom’s fault. They have massive server issues which prohibits some peering with servers located abroad.

Thank you, Veydar. Since 10.00 am I am trying to find out why I can’t access GW2. I had suspected my provider already, but also wrote a support mail to anet, including diagnostic data.
I guess Scarlet increased her defenses and sent her holos off to ensure she can enjoy a free day.

Same here, its clearly a problem on theirs login server.
It take some minutes, sometimes almost an hour but eventually the client connects….
Another option is that some router or backbone is the problem. (internet servers routes, not our personal computer)
/frustrating…

Same problem here…
I don’t see how this problem relates to my ISP. When i boot up Final Fantasy :ARR, it runs perfect withouth any lag at all, same as the rest of my games.
This gives me some bad GW dejavu’s when the servers got down, and Anet still pointing fingers toward the users…

Try Install Spotflux.
I’m keeping have this problem lately. But As soon I run Spotflux, my the game allow me to connect again (It ask me to authenticate login again, but that’s fine).

Also, an advice : This is that sort of program that come together with some “Trash” program. You can avoid the trash program declining when asked to install it. Only need to install the Spotflux itself.

As of 20:38 5/17 I am now having this issue… will not download update, login, etc…
Connection errors detected… retrying
Nothing happens after that.
I played an hour ago… there was an update… nothing works now…
Problem is not MY dns, it’s not MY computer, it’s not MY internet connection. I changed nothing… YOU changed something.
Resolution..? Or will I be another drop in the pond of thousands that have quit the game due to this very error. I have at least 12 friends that completely gave up on GW2 because they encountered this error without a fix provided.

I am having this EXACT same problem and it started yesterday. I have had GW disconnect in the past but very rarely, now I log in and I can only last 2 minutes in game, if I’m lucky, before it kicks me out again. I have tried everything and I’ve never seen this for as long as I’ve been playing. Extremely frustrating as I keep trying over and over in hopes that it will work…I don’t know when I will actually be able to play again. Glad I’m not the only one experiencing this problem :/

This is something ARENANET needs to fix. Not it’s customers.
As far as your suggestions to change hosts and such on OUR computers… That’s fantastic for all the “tech savvy” people. But I’m not all for messing with any hosts or files in any way. This is not something we should have to do in the first place. Arenanet needs to work with Verizon and get this issue fixed. It should not be up to the customer to provide a service your company should supply. If Verizon, as stated, supposedly isn’t answering emails and what not, then I would say Arenanet is responsible for getting THEIR customers back online and working. Customer support should be the #1 priority not laying the responsibility on Verizon or Arenanet customers to find a solution.

I have tried it all…Google DNS, etc. and i find that in the morning (EST) I can patch, login to game and actually play. I also had no problem today whenI logged in around 6pm and entered the game. it wasn’t until the new patch came out, it booted me out of the game for the update and I then had the same problem…downloads some (at sloooow speed), stalls to 0kb/sec…then starts to download a little while later…wash/rinse/repeat. this started happening last wednesday (5/21) so not sure what the heck is happening but it is irritating to say the least…something had to have changed….but not on my end!

I found that flushing your DNS and re-registering your DNS works. To do this, run the following commands in a command prompt with administrative permissions:
1. ipconfig /flushdns
2. ipconfig /registerdns

Hi all, i deactivated Windows Firewall and antivirus (protection file system+ protection mail + protection web) and it worked.
I had the same problem: “Connection error(s) detected retrying….” on last 2 files, deactivating wf and antivirus ( i think the problem was from antivirus, I have Avast) the game installed the last 2 file.
I hope it will work for you!
