It’s happening again with today’s game update. I was playing the game just fine when the text appeared that a build was available and my game would restart in 1 hour. When I tried to waypoint somewhere, the game exited and went to the loader screen where it promptly went to transferring at 0 KB/sec. These loading delays after a build update are released really need to be resolved.
I actually just bought the game and am trying to install it. Having this issue.
New build, and same problem… Also, after finally patching last time, I’m having stuttering issues again, which had been gone for a good long while until that patch…
you know if ANet really is about to release an expansion, this issue right here is the exact reason why i will NOT buy it. if they cant even fix this one issue, which honestly seems like a throttling issue.. then how can they possible hope to release anything worthy of paying for, when we cant even play it because of a 32 file patch.
I should have stayed in game, figured the connection issues would have been fixed. Would love to see some sort of compensation in game for these issues.
Well its good to hear others are still having the same problem but I have been playing theis game for almost a year and and have only had one other problem. This game is worth the money but I did wait till it was half off. but still don’t dog it Keep up the replys all, id like us to figure this one and maybe get the latest GM response.

unlikely. for one, why should they give us anything when they claim its not their fault, its a connection issue that only affects comcast users(AT&T is part of comcast) and second, theres no way to actually prove you’re having the issue i think. images can be shopped after all.

Pre-launch, Colin listed things that make MMOs bad. They are all now in GW2.
I have nothing bad to say about ANet personally, I’ve been with them since before they were called Arena Net… Back when they were part of Battle.net… I’ve played every Guild Wars game so far, and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. I’m only saddened that this issue has come up, as I fear for what it may do to the fan-base for the game.

Yes. This is the second night in a row that I am kicked out of game for the “new build” and not able to get back in. Why are we having all these connection errors? I even tried turning off my firewall but that didn’t help.
Anet! Please fix this problem so we can all enjoy playing again!
1.5hrs and have had to ALT-CTRL-DEL a few times to close out the locked up download client. Never exceeding 1000KB if I’m lucky. This is frustrating in PRIME TIME

Been doing this for 2 1/2 days now.
I made another ticket. I’m sure they are getting overloaded but we really need an update on whats going on
Well night 2 and things were going good until at 99% and 4 files to go, then it was the same thing over again. Someone messaged me a way to reset my IP address, but that made no difference unfortunately. Have seriously spent about 6 hours today trying to get this to work and about 6 hours last night. I also filed a support ticket. Ugh.

So it seems as though I won’t be playing GW2 anymore due to this connection error happening. It’s great though that we got one response(that literally helped with nothing). Thank you ArenaNet! Much appreciated!
Same as everyone else; No game for 2 days (Comcast internet). I wish Anet would at least acknowledge the issue.

precisely what happened to me for the past three days each time they’ve updated.
Ok I found a fix for me. First off, I have no clue how all of this works. I just used a link from some other post in this thread and tried a suggestion, and it fixed it immediately.
I’ll try and explain it in simple man’s terms, because when it comes to computers and tech, that’s how I understand things.
The Fix – (Very simple)
Right click your Guild Wars 2 Shortcut you use to launch the game and select “properties”
You will notice a “target” towards the top with a line of text including GW2.exe. All you have to do is copy and paste this at the end of that text…making sure there is a space between the current line of text, and the text you are adding.

So it should look like this when done:
“C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 62.154.232.128:80
Then hit “Apply” / “OK” and launch the game. if you still have an issue Try running it as Administrator from the shortcut. I didn’t have to do that.
The 62.154.232.128:80 is just one of Arenanet’s download servers from a list to be found here:
You may need to try a different server IP if you are not in NA.

The game has become virtually unplayable. It’s now a constant procession of downloads every time I log on. Apparantly the download servers are powered by gerbils in wheels, and half of them have died !

Glad to hear it.
I removed the “-maploadinfo” line since I didn’t need to see all the numbers in the lower left of screen when loading and it still works perfectly.
I am having trouble downloading on this laptop, and this has been going on for a few days now. Anyone else still having problems on wireless? It works on my other computer but not this one..

I was having the same issues and the best thing I could do was to completely uninstall everything. Then I found myself trying to constantly log in and it would lock up continually. Now just a bit ago I go what I consider to be a suspicious mail that is supposed to be from an Anet GM. Here is the in game mail as follows:

Guillotine — of course it’s a scam. Did you not read the yellow warning below the mail message that states “This message was sent by another GW2 user. This mail did not come from ArenaNet.”
SCAM!!!
You also need to remove that link because it’s a hijack link — which is not wise to post in the forums — otherwise if someone else click on it, their GW account will be compromised as well.
I have not been able to play GW2 since Jan. 13 because of this issue. Glad to see this forum exists since I haven’t heard any updates from the company. Got to 99% and 1 file last night and then the connection died…huge bummer.
Update: Just tried the fix Kyotee suggested, and it worked. Woohoo!

There is probably an internet node down somewhere, because that site is wrong – the North American servers are up. I’m in the US and have no trouble logging in and playing.
Having this problem right now, EU server. Just flashes between this and 0MB uploaded. Then I can’t close the screen as it crashes and I have to shut it down with task manager.
Can’t do anything else as it won’t get past this screen. Random.
It would be really nice if this would get fixed. Been watching the patcher drop down to 0kb/sec, then start back up again later, then drop down again for a while now. Seems like this happens every couple patches or so.
I am getting the same problem mentioned everywhere else on this post, is there a fix for it? should i wipe the game off my pc and do a clean install?
Having this problem atm. I deleted the game and tried to reinstall because I thought I messed some files up tried the repair instructions from the support, didnt work.
What can I do, wait?
edit: Apprently waiting fixed it, it’s downloading now.
