Mac OS Native (64-Bit) client users:

Assuming you installed to the default location, the following should work for you as a workaround:

Open Terminal (Launchpad → Other → Terminal), and enter the following at the prompt:

/Applications/Guild\ Wars\ 2\ 64-bit.app/Contents/MacOS/GuildWars2 -authsrv 54.89.152.137 -assetsrv 64.25.41.2

That should get you going.

No, but it would probably be best since Google DNS is more up to date than what your ISP provides.

First you should try flushing your DNS. Open cmd.exe (search the start menu) and enter the following command:
ipconfig /flushdns

Alternatively, you can use the -assetsrv option mentioned throughout this thread.

EU user here. I had the same problem and did did the CMD command, worked perfectly. If you can’t enter, I suggest you try this

Still getting the same old message in England – I restarted the computer, which took 25 minutes as there was the previously-mentioned Windows 10 update to install…

Still not working, it said Download fail, check your internet connection. My internet connection is fine!

Still having issues logging in. (Norway) I tried the DNS flush, and it didn’t help, unfortunately. I am not willing to try anything else because I don’t want to mess something up with a temp fix.

Reset my router and seemed to fix things for a moment, but has since gone back to same connection error.

ipconfig /flushdns worked for me, it seems that we need to do this. I have finally downloaded and I am in the login screen

im on EU (Germany)…still no conection to the server.

Not working here in East Coast, NA.

As at 13.45 gmt time. still unable to sign into gw2. Getting connection error(s) detected, retrying reset dns but to no avail. I wonder how long this will be going on before I can get in

I also have this problem, if it’s of any help, Guilld Wars 1 has this same issue.

I deleted the game, “arena.net” you are the best ….. (I managed to play 1 day after buying the game)

I also tried to reinstall the client because i thought the problem was at my end. now i cannot re-download the game. When will we be able to download the game again?

Found a solution :

Step 1 : Plug OUT your ethernet cable if you are using direct connection to your router.

Step 2 : Connect to your Wifi

The work around worked but now in a data archive repair with no isea if its working or how long till its finished

As stated its a DNS server thats taking some time to update. Simply wait for an hour (yes yes, we all have the patience of a demented goldfish) and try again.

Dont waste time deleting your game, it will simply cause you to download 30+ gigs before you can play…

You can verify your ability to access the asset servers by visiting http://origincdn.101.arenanetworks.com/, which should show “page not found” with a little info.

Is this somehow related now that Net neutrality boycot what most of largest operators and suppliers is doing today. They said that net connections may be very slow and doesn’t work equally, because they want to show how net will work if there is not net neutrality going on.

If it is because of that, we all should give thanks to President Trump and his ideas to take off that net neutrality. This will be result for taking off that equal net connections.

well i can download it now try this on gw2setup *right click,create shorcut, then right click the shorcut you created go to Properties on TARGET on last name of exe(space it )-authsrv 206.127.146.73(Space it)-assetsrv 64.25.41.2

then press OK then double click the shorcut and you are fine to download it again

Roughly my first forum post ever. From Europe and internet is working fine. “ipconfig /flushdns” didn’t work, but adding “-authsrv 206.127.146.73 -assetsrv 64.25.41.2” seems to make it update at least. Now it’s repairing (GW2 prompted me to repair itself). Afterwards it updated and loaded.
