Disconnected 4 times in the past hour with this error code and about 10 times in the past 24 hours.
I have 3 computers, a smartphone, and a tablet. It ONLY happens on the computer I’m playing GW2 on, the other devices are all fine. It’s not my router. My firewall is set to allow all connections from the GW2 application, and I also run it as Administrator. When I get dc’ed or dos’ed or whatever it is, I also can’t visit websites. The quickest solution I have is to immediately disconnect and reconnect from the internet from the toolbar, everything magically works after and I can usually get back into the same instance.
This isn’t on my end. Seems like Anet is sending me bad packets and causing a bandwidth traffic jam on my computer (can’t think of the term). Hopefully Anet will admit that this is their responsibility and fix the problem.

Everything that you describe there is congruent with one of two things, either a communication problem related to your modem, or to the immediate connection between your modem and the ISP network.
GW2 servers are not sending some magically bad packet to you, but instead, you are experiencing something that sounds very much like either the modem slowing to a crawl, or the connection causing the same effect.
There are, in fact, almost no cases where a “bad packet” or “bad connection” could cause the effect described alone — and none of them are part of routine, normal communication. The odds that GW2 accidentally triggered a problem like you describe approximate zero, and deliberately… yeah, no.
I’d strongly encourage you to investigate that issue, rather than waiting for anet to fix a problem that we can pretty confidently say cannot be related to GW2, and so will never be within their power to correct.

What you describe seems to be just the same for me, and occurring at about the same time, so I can understand why you suspected it’s a gw2 problem. But the situation has improved for me now, with disconnects being less frequent for me (not gone away altogether yet though). I haven’t changed anything in my set up, but perhaps my ISP has. I am based in Hong Kong, so it’s probably unlikely that we have the same ISP. I submitted a ticket and they asked me to run a free program called WinMTR to get ping and trace results to them.
Hey guys I’m getting disconnected with this error after killing Mordremoth in Hearts and Minds. It’s extremely frustrating since it takes a lot of time to kill that guy and after I relog I have to do it all over.
Already did it two times, not going to try to waste another half an hour on nothing until it’s solved.
EDIT: Tried for the 3rd time, this time in a party and I’ve also switched from Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen. Not sure if any of those two are connected with the issue but this time it didn’t disconnect me, so, yay.

I’m from the EU and play on NA servers. I often get Error 7 (multiple times per day) since a month ago and my ping went from ~160ms to ~200ms.
I ran the -diag and it looks like packets getting lost.

It continues happening to me too. I’ve been having this issue for a while, than it went away, only to come back again these last few weeks. It doesn’t happen as frequent as before, but when you are in story instances and have to redo the entire thing because of the error, it get really annoying, really quick.

Have you tried following the instructions in a guide like https://www.pingplotter.com/fix-your-network to see if there is a network issue somewhere that can be fixed? If so, what was the result?
I’m disconnecting, guild chat is offline, I’m getting that 40something error without disconnection a lot, tons of lag, seems that the Miami seabone croaked or something, here are my diag results

I’m also getting the same code from yesterday, and cannot get into game except for character select. I have never had this problem before yesterday.
I have this error as well but only during Living story or Personal story cut scenes.

Unfortunately the trace you posted cuts off at that host — but it’s certainly possibly it’s the issue. Without the next hops we can’t tell. (or is it just “nothing at all shows beyond that”? If that’s the case, then yes, that’s the place that broke.
Incidentally, that would be the Maimi landing/transit point of this backbone network — in case you were curious about what level of the internet this was at.
ok willing to bet most of the people having this issue are windows 10 users ran the troubleshooter program for compatibility and gw2 is not very compatible with windows 10 apparently changed the setting to run it in windows 8 mode and it hasnt dumped me since
So I just crashed to desktop 4 times while in Dragonstand and I was not the only one, About half my squad also DCed during the mordi fight or right after the fight. I even got the error prompt for all 4 crashes.
