Guild Wars 2

I’ve been playing GW2 since the start and my comp never really had a problem running the game. My game crashes occasionally, but it would always run again afterwards. The last crash happened as I was exiting the game and now the game won’t run anymore. The game crashes every time when it tries to load 10-15 seconds after I press play and it never reaches the character screen. I tried repairing the game client and it didn’t help. I don’t know why the game keeps crashing. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 notebook
CPU: Intel Core i5 M 460 @ 2.53GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
OS: Windows 7 home premium 64-bit
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

I didn’t check your document, but if it said Fatal Disk Error (23), try this link sent to me when I asked Reddit about it.

No, mine doesn’t say fatal error. I don’t think it has anything to do with my drive.

Update: I uninstalled/reinstalled GW2 and I still get the same crash. I don’t know what else to do to fix this problem.

I am having the same problem as Jaxxer. I reinstalled GW2 and still have the same problem. No problems with any other games.

i am having the same proplem. dont know whats going on. i have windows 7 and event viewer says nothing.

all my game does after. i hit play in minimize and it wont come back up

I have had this issue constantly on multiple computers ever since the last content update. It is probably a bug in that update or something…?

have the same problem as jaxx. so is alot of other’s no1 knows how to fix it

You could try deleting / moving your GW2 “Local.dat” file which is where your game settings are saved. Those kind of settings are Key remaps, sound and graphics settings for the most part.

This file can be found in: “C:\Users\(YourUserName)\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2”

I suggest moving the file first just in case the problem doesn’t go away you can put it back in the folder.

That worked. I just moved the whole folder and launched GW2 and the game created a new folder and dat file. The game started right up. Just had to reset some settings. Thanks.
