I also use the Apple Magic Mouse and still have issues with the camera, which is quite annoying.

Same issue as mentioned by other posters. All I’m getting when trying to purchase gems is a blank page, or the option to redeem a code.

Welp guys, it’s late Friday. Issue has been going since patch launch Tuesday. We haven’t received an update in easily 24 hours.

Also, since the launch i’ve been getting the tgupdate 1.11 download every time i open the game. I’ve tried all the suggested fixes and none have worked so far and nobody seems to have an answer.

Oh and almost every time i log in my camera moves around like it thinks it’s a blender. Usually a restart of the game fixes this, not always, but even then this should not be happening

My issues: I cannot buy gems or redeem the gems I already bought. This has still not been fixed as of 8:45 pm EST patch.
Also, about 20% of the time I visit the trading post, it is completely blank and I cannot buy or sell anything.

I do not have the spinning camera issue at the moment, but I have a few times in the past.

I’d imagine one of the higher ups at ANet would be very annoyed at the lost revenue this gem issue represents. As someone else said, why don’t they just add a place to buy gems on the website? That would be a quick and easy fix to an issue that is apparently very difficult to fix in game.

Have been experiencing the same issues for several days with the inclusion of the warp speed rotation of camera. The latter issue only fixed by running around Lion’s Arch correction: running into things throughout Lion’s Arch for several agonizing minutes.

Still unable to load gemstore.

latest game client having this issue still unresolved.

To fix the camera issue, try CTRL+TAB to switch to desktop then switch back to the game. This fixes the issue for me, until I restart the game (to fix TP not working..another bug) or sometimes traveling to a new map. But it always fixes it, so far.

Sadly still no luck with buying gems. But hey I guess I’m not the one losing money, so maybe I shouldn’t be sad about it.

Oh and still getting tgupdate at every restart. Obviously it’s not updating anything. . .

1) I cannot buy gems most of the time, you can be sure that this is lost revenue. I’m at the point I don’t even bother to open the gem store anymore. All I have been able to purchase is a character expansion slot so far, and it’s only because I got lucky. Wiping your game cache appears to fix this problem temporarily.

2) tgUpdate 1.11 everytime I start up the game

3) sometimes I have the problem that the camera flies around way too fast when trying to change the direction. It doesn’t matter if I change the angle using the trackpad or with a mouse, same result. Only solution is restarting the game and hoping that the problem is fixed.

Well I found a work-around for the gem store problem. I logged into the game using my son’s windows computer and bought gems. It is really annoying that I had to do this because this is an issue that you would think Anet would fix quickly as it is losing them money for every Mac user that can not buy gems.

Please Anet fix the gem store to work with Mac.

1) cannot buy gems as buy gems window is blank, This has been occurring for the last few days. I initially thought it was due to my throttled internet but the issue still exists since my internet was unthrottled overnight. Do not know for certain when this issue started, but it was occurring prior to last update for me however about 2 weeks ago it was fine.

2) tgUpdate 1.11 runs every time I start client, only occurring since last update.

3) Camera issue initially but I resolved initially by doing a full restart of the mac book pro, but after re-occurance I used the suggestion of command+tab and scrolling on a webpage and command+tab back. This issue only occurred with last update.

I think the problem we as Mac users face is Anet doesn’t see the revenue loss from us as we may not actually be that large of a market to them. Either that or they are absolutely clueless and truly just care about the bottom line in which case we will most likely see an update to fix this but doubt we will ever truly see a native client free from beta. I for one am fed up and tired of supporting this company.

everybody using apple computers to play GW2… STOP spending any money in the gem store. I for one would like to play the real mac beta that they said we’d have. NOT this cider port.

Flaming I see you constantly posting in the mac sections do you even run a mac? also we have all been running mavericks since long before this issue came about. I can guarantee that it is not mavericks at the root. Seeing as how the gem store was working perfectly fine prior to patch and mavericks has been out for going on 2-3 months.

Same problems occur on my iMac 27 i5 2,7Ghz (mid 2011), Maverick up to date, GW2 1.0.009112.

ok has anyone even contacted support again about this? because if no one has a second time i’m about to. I know someone did the first time but the issue clearly is not fixed.

Even if somebody else has purdueaustin, you should as well. The more fuss we all make the more chance they’ll actually pay attention.

And this is just the last in a series of bugs that I get…half the time my Trading Post doesn’t work, I can’t access the gem store most of the time, my mouse bugs (i know how to work around this now) and now I can’t buy gems. GG.

Same issue here: gem purchase is blank, redeem code is blank except for promo code use. Running mavericks (up to date) and the update 1.11 loads every time I start the game, as well.

I have a gem card and can’t use it due to this issue!

I can’t even get the gem exchange to show so I can’t even get gems with in game gold

I’ve had the same problems as everyone else; every time I start the client it runs tgupdate, gem purchase doesn’t work at all and comes up with a blank box, Black Lion store intermittently doesn’t work, mouse sometimes has the ridiculously fast scrolling bug.

Logitech Anywhere MX, not using any Logitech software.

I have the exact same issues as everyone else (blank gem store screen, frantic spinning mouse). I usually run the client windowed on my Mac, but whether it’s full screen or windowed what has always helped was to Command-Tab to the desktop, clicking anywhere on the desktop with the mouse and then tabbing back to the client. Changing the focus seemed to help (not just command-tabbing).

Still having the same problem after weeks with the gem store not working and now the warp speed camera rotations preventing me from playing. Ive had the camera rotation happen before but it went away. Starting to think its just time to quit giving my money to gaming… sigh.

Shippu.8540, thx for the workaround, just had the problem of the spinning mouse of motion sickness, that fixed it. Eventually, I guess we should list all workarounds in some thread!

Same issues as others with Redeem,

framerates dropped quite a bit after december patch, game is mostly unplayable really 1-10 fps on lowest detail.

cider keeps updating every times I start the game.

Mouse is haywire every time I start the game so have to tab in and out to “fix” it.

Am still waiting for the gem purchase screen to be anything but blank as I have a mac with the same specs a many listed above. I would also like some gems to buy seaonal items on the TP before they are gone. Rant: I paid full price for a GW2 mac beta version which I thought would NOT remain a beta indefinitely.

I have had a support ticket open for this issue for almost 2 weeks and cant even redeem the gem cards that I have brought as it is only accepting 25 digit codes and the gem cards that I have brought are only 20 digit cards. Please help, I have missed out on a couple of things now and want to get back to finish crafting my ascended gear

Just an update:

I was about to spend 120 dollars on windows so I could play this game, but then I came to my senses. Spend 120 so I can spend more money buying gems? Stupid.

So I took the drastic but free approach of erasing every trace of guild wars from my computer. Redownloading the whole kitten client and then installing again.

Several hours later and I no longer have spinning camera problem. However:

tgupdate still runs.
Gem purchase window still frustratingly blank.

I give up.

Oh yeah and the shaders appear to be messed up. My norn mesmer in her skimpy clothing looks like her breasts were heavily bruised doing Spirits know what.

but, whatever at this point. I’ll go play something else for a while.

Still not working here. Would love to give Anet $50 right now, but ….

I cannot access BLTC at all including the gem store. Occasionally I have mouse issues however a log out and back in seems to fix it. Lastly my screen dims when I close windows and I have to open options menu and adjust the gamma although the bar has not moved and as soon as I move it it comes back to where it was before it dimmed. Additional info below.

“failed to launch task: launch path not accessible

I’m not sure what that means, but I’m looking into it. Can anyone decipher this for us?

I’ve had the tgUpdate 1.11 come every time I have launched in the last few days. Today it extracted and installed. After that I can move for a few seconds but then the camera spines around and around like a carnival ride. When it stops I’m looking either straight down or straight up at my character.
I have tried to log out and log back in on different toons but it’s the same thing. I had this happen before but it would go away with a quick relog. Tonight nothing is working, I have tried all the steps listed in this tread and others. I cannot play the game at all right now.
I did try to purchase Gems tonight from the gem store. I have only been able to this once but it took several tries over an hour to get it to work. Today it comes up blank every time.
While the gem store issue is frustrating not being able to play at all because of the camera issue is worse!
The Camera issue has been an issue since the beta first came out but not this bad.

I replicated this issue of the launcher not showing up after the “update” by removing the Guild Wars 2 folder in the Application Support folder. If you have this folder backed up, try reverting the Guild Wars 2 folder to an earlier version.

Edit: Has anyone tried https://gemstore-live.ncplatform.net/authenticate as an alternative to installing Windows? It is an at your own risk feature to check on gemstore stuff (they have a trading post one too).
