Gem store error
I got this problem yesterday and I don’t know how to fix it. I also read the forum that said that wait for 15 sec to press confirm but I don’t work for me so I need help please help me.
When you fill in the CC info, make sure the text is all upper or lower case. I’ve run into issues paying with a CC when the info text is mixed (capitalizing the first letter made it fail). Just my 2 cents.

I recently tried to buy gems but I would always get the error ,“error” : parse and “type” : "orderModel : error . I checked the forums but most of them were for mac , I do have a pc that runs microsoft.

And of course as soon as you submit a ticket, it’s ’here’s an email w/ a program to download & run, btw you have to disconnect your router & do this, that, & the other to run it’.
Kitten that. Your gem store is broken. I submitted the details I have, & I shouldn’t have to transform into a tech wiz just to ask a simple question. If it takes that much, you don’t really need my money that badly anyway.
You aren’t alone. Running Windows 8 and getting the same error. Was able to buy gems just fine a few days ago.

Same error. I bought gems Success more times this year but I got the problem from yesterday to now.
Getting the same problem. Glad I am not alone and I HOPE that this doesn’t suddenly go through because I tried 3 times already and got the same error.
I hope the transaction ended there.

Somehow, knowing that the Arenanet system is having kittenfits and not my system is…relaxing.

It is not just the Gem Store, the TP itself is wonky today. I can access everything but if I go to sell something on the TP, the screen comes up blank after I select my inventory item I want to sell. Most likely ANet will patch it today.

Ok, guys — so I can be clear: You are not experiencing the “parse error” that occurred earlier, but you are not able to purchase gems?
What sort of message are you getting at this time?

I just now tried again before responding to the thread, & finally managed to make a purchase.

Well, it wasn’t just a gem purchasing issue. I had been playing the trial since 9/27, and tried all day to purchase the game, and was getting the same error as the folks above. I was finally able to purchase the game about an hour ago.
Edit: …and I think I just fronted myself out as a total GW2 noob.

I tired 3 times to buy gems just after the patch came out, got the same error everyone here is talking about. I reset the game tired again now it tells me approval failed. I’ve used that card many times to buy gems, and it’s saved I have not changed anything about the card.

I’ve tried purchasing gems many times today since the new patch came out. At first I got the error message like everyone above so I waited to give it time. In the last 30 minutes I’ve tried purchasing the gems again via credit card AND paypal. Neither way works. Now I receive “Payment Failure” over and over. GW2 is the only thing not accepting either my card or paypal at the moment. I hope this gets solved soon as I’m really excited for the new hairstyles

The devs looked at a few accounts in this thread, and it appears the attempts were made before the fix, and in one case, the CC number was invalid.
About the “approval fail” thing: That is the system saying “Hold on, maybe that’s not a valid purchase attempt” and a block to prevent misuse of your card. If you’ve tried to purchase and have failed, you should know that several attempts in a single day will cause a security block. Support will need to help you by whitelisting your account. I know that’s a bit of a nuisance, but it really only takes a few minutes. Could you please contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you.

Hi -I’ve contacted support, but just wanted to mention here that I was unable to purchase gems as well. Didn’t get an error, just seemed to give an approval fail. I tried with paypal as well, and it ended up erroring on the guild wars side.
Can we please get an update on this? Support told me the problem is with my bank and my is telling me there is no problem. In fact, I just made a purchase. Please let us know what’s being done and if there is anything customers should do to be able to give you our money.

Told me the same thing, but I bought gas and snacks today with no problem.
Yep I got that too yesterday. And today I brought a gems for 10 dollars and than I try to buy it again it just PAYMENT APPROVAL FAILED

Sometimes folks get that message when they’ve had a few failures, but I know that Support can help you, and it won’t take long for them to do so. If you’d submit a ticket or email Support@GuildWars2.com, they’ll get the straightened out for you!

I am getting the same error as well! I want to support ANet by buying hairkits and gems! Please help us! There is NOT an issue with my card. I have used it earlier in the day for other purchases.
