Hello,
since last patch i can run the game ony with windowed fullscreen mode otherwise i get the screen flashing and is unplayable. Anyone else got the same issue, any solution?

Yes, i have the very same problem I can’t play due to flashing screen after the charatcer is loaded into the game. The screen just blinks with black few times per second. Neither restarting the client nor changing game settings helps. I have even created a shurtcut with -repair flag but it crashes all the time.

i have the same problem on my notebook (nvidia graphic card). the black flickering only appears in fullscreen mode. It worked fine just before the patch.

The problem doesnt appear when i run the game with the onboard intel graphic card. (but the performance sucks then)

Edit: Tried to screenshot the flickering, but the screenshots just looked fine. :S

I have the same problem. NVidia GTX 520MX with newest drivers (362.00). The problem also occurred with previous drivers version. Before installing newest GW2 client update, everything worked fine.

i deactivated the v-sinc option and restarted the client and i solved the problem.
for some reason v-sinc was causing this

edit: i also alt tab to write this post and when i was back in the game i got the issue again. hope restarting the client will help otherwise no alt tab for us

edit2: the problem was solved only in the character selection screen

i had the same problem with nvidia card on windows 10, but solve it by in compatibility changed to execute this program in compatibility of windows 7.

Is any dev looking into this since seems to be preatty common? Also with windowed fullscreen mode i get really low fps dropping from 40 to 14. Is this happening to you too guys?

yes exactly, the reason i didn’t play in windowed full screen was too low fps

Same here. About the bottom 2/3 of the screen flashing black. GT540M Can view things between the quick flashes, but unplayable. Video and window drivers up to date. Help

Do you guys have the newest drivers for your cards? I have a 960, and I’m using older drivers, not the newest but the ones before that, and I have no problems.

I haven’t finished downloading the patch but the client is acting funny ,, however in game so far i don’t have that issue you guys are talking about ,,,yet. however i have a question ,, are you guys with the nvidia cards running the last driver nvidia put out a day ago? if so roll back to the previous driver the latest driver is causing blue screens gaming issues ,,, and other problems and this could be one of them. this driver was just put out so its pretty coincidental. I run a low end card as well ,a GT710 (New card this year yes but still low end). and using the january driver.

the driver Im speaking of thats causing the issues is Driver 364.47 WHQL.

and Im not saying this your issue but might look into that as well

i updated the card with the driver released a day ago indeed. i’ll try to roll back and see what happens.

have this problem too, rerolled my graphics card and turned vsync on and off. Nothing worked so far. I dont have the problem with other games.

Also nvidia And also have this problem, though it was there before I did the nvidia update (so then I tried updating that but made absolutely no difference.)
The flickers are also only in game or on loading screens not char select. I sent a ticket last night but no response yet. Glad I’m not the only one though even though it sucks. Thought my computer was broken and hated gw2 now

Did you guys have any feedback from devs? I didn’t and i wasn’t expecting this lack of comunication from Anet since it never happened…

Have you tried submitting a ticket? I don’t think devs read the forums all that much, you see them more on reddit.

I did everything what could have worked, it works in Full windowd mode but that modus is kitten so I hope they just fix this otherwise I just play BDO, because that does run smoothly.

Same over here. Updating / rollback Nvidia drivers, turning VSync on/off… Nothing works on my Geforce GTX 670M.

I haven’t seen this issue anywhere on the forum so I’m starting a thread.

I can start the client, log in, and get to the character selection screen just fine. After I choose a character and the game loads up, things go wonky.

Most of the screen except the top inch and a half or so starts to flicker between game and black screen at a rapid pace. It only starts after I load up a character and it doesn’t matter what character or area or graphics setting I’m on.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics card drivers. Not sure what else to try, particularly because the top inch or two of screen comes out fine. It does not happen on any other game, video, or website.

When I take a screencap, the entire screencap comes out black.

What do you think?

I deleted a part of Windows Error Reporting in Diagnostics since the errors were related to other apps I use and none of them was caused by GW2 itself. Reproducing the error in game client does not append new error entries to the file so I guess, this part may be omitted.

i have windows 10 and yes both a graphic card and an intel, although if i check it says the game is running under graphic card and not intel

I am having the same issue with a blue flashing screen. I just got a 2nd video card today and am trying to use NVIDIA SLI with a GTX670, but otherwise have the same issue as above on my desktop.

exactly, same for me. Screen is flickering after last update. I’ve installed the newest update for my graphic card but nothing changed. Even after lowering graphic details it’s the same.

Yes. I have Windows 10, both Nvidia 960M and intel HD 4600, running with Fullscreen (not windowed fullscreen), and yes, on a laptop. No problems here.

I do have both integrated intel graphic card and an nvidia one. And Win 10. But i used to play normally up until march 8th

Yep, Windows 10 laptop with nvidia (610m, 2gb) and intel. Hope this is what I’m supposed to be posting.
