currently running win 8.1
i7 3770k 4.4ghz 8gb w/ gtx 580 1.5gb @ 1080p
if i swapped the gtx 580 with a r9 280x sapphire toxic 3gb what kind of performance bump in pve could would i attain just in gw2?

For gw2? I would venture at not too much, gw2 mostly relies on the CPU.

I wouldn’t expect much either. I changed 3 cpus 4 gpus (6970, gtx 580 gtx 680 r9 290) still nothing has changed unless you count avegerage minimum fps going up from 15 to 20 in medicore blobs. still dips to 17ish medium high quality settings. I reckon unless you are going up to higher resolutions like let’s say 1440 or 1600p dont bother because gtx 580is more than capable of maxing gw2 out.

I bought it and it’s installed today. It’s heaps better.
Example: W/ same settings as I had with the gtx 580 a fight with Jormag yielded 50-95ish fps. gtx was around 20-45 at best.
This is not at all unoticeable. Fighting large scale battles with supersampling on was just not a plausible option b4 ever.
