Forum Bug still not fixed either

Same issue, huge ping spikes and constantly disconnecting from the game. My TS keeps running, but I keep getting thrown off the game + crazy ping spikes.

I wouldn’t say that yet, but it does say “destination unreachable”, appears you might be pinging a closed map. I would re-run using an open map.

It is same result, regardless which map i pick.

Started since a few days before the patch. Barely played since then. Play a few minutes then lag then dc…

yea the game is basically unplayable right now for me too
i guess thats what you get from a small game company
never had something even close to that kitten in wow

also having this huge lagg spikes, normaly i play with 40ish ping, now it goes from 250 to 4500 :/

Really getting on my t!ts, fix this pls, always really bad from ~20:00 GMT when raids/fractals start. Issues on and off throughout the day too, i guess when more people log on like after school etc.

Edit: Just to say from the UK here, but people in raid atm from Germany having the issue too. I’m on Desolation home server, but seems we’re on Spirit Vale(Riverside [DE])

Just had a ~3500ms ping for about 15 minutes, it is pretty funny though, what’s not funny is getting no response from anet. So…you guys playing anything good?

Got the same issues fro about a month.
Checked with pingplotter and saw pocket losses on ncsoft route.Fix this immediately arena.

Your ping spike occurs between nodes 4 & 5 after that it is pretty much stable. The is minimal packet loss near the end. Together they may be causing your issues, I’m not sure on this one.

You are wrong about it mate.
It is a normal ping that i have in game.Only PL making game unplayable.And its anet thing to fix.

Here is SEA area, also huge delay. Suddenly Lagging.

Normal about 250, now is 300-500 and suddenly jump to 1k – 2k or more.

We playing from different location of the world.

The problem is clearly not about ISP, because “other MMO not effected, only GW2”.

And also some player share their test result to support it, just you cannot understand that what those result mean.

We know that what is normal ping in our area, (SEA about 200-300), and now it is NOT normal.

And the game is unplayable a in such situation, so we come here to point out the issue, I believe here got some IT expert player and same to Guildwar2 team.

I know you mean no harm, but please stop, don’t mess up with unnecessary argument beside the real issue. Thank you.

Same here, it started a couple of days before the patch with my ping going from average 40 to over 1k for around 5-10 minutes then it goes back down, then it spikes again. This has been going on for weeks now and it’s honestly getting on my nerves.

back to unplayable. was good a few days ago but only while it lasts. now back to random ping spikes and dc. VPN don’t work as well either.

want to continue support/playing this game but honestly can’t even get stable connection. needs to have better routing in SEA when other games don’t have this issue.

Same here, game is unplayable since this morning, at first I was blaming my internet provider (UPC, Czech Republic) but it seems that is not the case.

I have this issue 4 days in a row (Czech Republic, UPC provider). Problems starts always around 15:45 GMT and the game is almost unplayable till ~21:00 GMT. Right now I’ve “finished” Tequatl, where lags started during first defense and I even got DC during last phase.

Problems usually starts on 195.16.162.186 node, but during this Tequatl the problems were on ncsoft nodes according to a few tracings. One of it:

The game is not totally unplayable, but I have problems always during “big events” – Tequatl or Triple Trouble. It’s not rare to have lag spikes also out of these fights and on the other maps (especially Lake Doric).

For the whole day its 3000 ping! Yesterday all was smooth but today is unplayable :/

I was playing GW2 since the release i bought it. stopped to play for quite long time and decided to play the new expansion and start from 0 with a new class.

the game is not playable the ping goes to 2k in the evening time. some time in the day it is normal 75-80.

Same here. Only gw2 seems to have ping issues.

I didn’t have any problems until today. Right now I have ping between 3500 – 4500. My ISP is UPC, Poland.

anyone knows why? and also why is anet silent on this?

Happens exactly the same to me, almost constant lag, and peaks up to 4500 ping. I use fiber optic, and i has never had lag so far. And now it suddenly happens to me from the month of february, just before the end of the pvp season. And the truth, playing like this way in pvp is unplayable. By the way, i’m from Spain (Madrid).

Please at least an answer…

I haven’t noticed any difference.

Right now everything is delayed for me. Even logging in is currently a chore. And it’s only GW2, other games I play, like Warframe and BDO, are working just fine.

I was wrong. Ping goes from regular 60ms to 2k, it’s unplayable. Tried repair, switched client ports, reset router, upgraded drivers. Reinstalling game now.

I have had the game hard freeze up my pc multiple times in the past week.

It has been the most rock solid game a good percentage of the time, with no complaints really. It hasn’t occurred in any other circumstances, so I don’t really know what to think.

Ping goes up again to 4000… Its really annoying.

the explanation for the lag:
anet/ncsoft have a contract with a cheap and extremely poor company called Telia which is how we get to their servers.(its “on the way there”)
the company is notorious for being garbage exceptionally awful during peak time with huge % of packet loss.
it will never change and a-net will never comment on this because its out of their control,the higher ups made a contract with the trash can know as telia and they there is nothing the GW2 people can do about it but shut up and hope we somehow forget about it.

basically thats the reason many people here get huge pings to gw2 and yet get perfect connection to other MMOs in eu like wow or pretty much anything else.

@Vikcen : yes pvp is unplayable like this. Never had this since the start of gw2. (or no when the karka’s came we had some similar). Please give us an update ANET.

Also for people using pingplotter or so, data is always send to the end node. Data loss in other nodes means just no response on ttl = o. (could be data loss or not, but if the next node has no dataloss the previous is just not returning on ttl o.

I’m on EU, I’ve noticed no drop except a chat lag which went when I rebooted my router.

Normally I like what they’re doing but now I’m really upset about their ignorance.

I have submit a support ticket yesterday and already 3 different GM’s are on my ticket.

1 requested a game-test with NCSoft software (check and saw there was datapackage loss between my and their network)

Second GM asked me to do a WinMTR test for half an hour to one of the /ip of the game.
It was clear the highest ping was coming from NCSoft.

Third GM is the best one yet.. asked me to test without my hub and connect my PC (top floor) to connect directly to my modem (totally downstairs).
This would be a good troubleshoot if I would have high ping and lag anywhere, which I don’t. It is only in GW2.

Waiting for GM number 4 now lol…

And to exclude your third gm, in the week and weekends i’m on a different location. Total different setup, same issue.

I’m in australia, usually ping hangs around 300 but since two weeks ago it wildly fluctuates between 400~800. Unplayable. :/ Not sure if it’s GW or my house though.

I’ve got the problem too and am contacting support right now. I’d advice everyone to do the same and stay calm. If they see many people bringing up the same stories perhaps they can properly look into this, if it’s a problem from their end, or they can help us find a solution.

I stay calm, only a few % interacts on forum. But still forum is as valid as a ticket to support. A thread staying on top several days means there is a problem, and it is not my problem but theirs as they can lose players. They could also ask for info on forum.

I asked around, and one of my friends with a different provider (netbox) has the same issue, so it’s definitely not upc (which, frankly, I wouldn’t even consider strange at this point, upc tends to be garbage)

There’s nothing you can do that will fix the problem and it has nothing to do with what you’ve done so far. The issue that you many others in EU are experiencing has to do with some servers between your ISP and anet’s servers throttling traffic.

You’d be much better off running Pingplotter or winmtr that will tell you which nodes between your ISP and anet’s servers are problematic. This won’t fix the issue either but at least you’ll have have some info to attach to your ticket.

Thanks for info. Meanwhile, I learned the hard way that defeating the Vale Guardian with ping over 4k is a no-no And also met another guys suffering from the same condition.
