I did the event but have not yet received my karka chest via mail. Do I have to delete all my mails first?

Hello… I hear from my guild mates that they all received Karka Chest Items. I did not receive my items yet Is there any reason I did not receive these items? I could not log into the event for anet would not even log me in I was quite dissapointed was so looking forward to it. Thank you for your time…for an old fart I am enjoying the game by the way…thank you.

Could we please be given the criteria for receiving a chest now? I did my absolute best to complete as much of the weekend as possible (including spending a long time trying to stop people from attacking the guy in Caledon to let the bugged event reset), but I live in Europe and wasn’t able to attend the final event due to commitments elsewhere (I have even more sympathy for those in Asia and Australia). I’m glad ANet have put so much effort into fixing this, but we still don’t know who should/shouldn’t have the chest apart from they are the ones who ‘deserve’ or ‘qualify’ for it.

I want to know too… I can’t help that I do not have the resources to get a great gaming rig to enjoy everything the game has to offer… Why should I be punished for trying to even complete as much as possible only to find I can’t go anywhere in South sun cove without lagging up or freezing?

I probably deserve a chest than anyone… and if someone got on and also looted it at the event, maybe you should send me your extra one? It will be the one thing to have me have hope again that people care about others in this game.

If not that, is just fine too. I’ll be getting a job eventually and paying for my gold using gems. 10000-20000 gems only costs me a few 100 dollars in gem cards.

Can we get any kind of confirmation that the new script has completed, and those of us who got nothing are just hosed?

I have a concern,that in my opinion is quite pertinent to some people. I do not feel it is entierly fair that people that did the event and looted the chest to get another mail with another chest. To me, that I did the event and looted the chest I was not expecting to recieve and email, however as other people in the same situation as me, got another chest I would like to point out that makes me wonder to what point this is even fair to me and other players that did not recieve a second chest as others did. I have a question to the arena net team; will this be resolved? or will people with extra chests be seen as lucky, whilst me and others as unlucky which in this situation should not have applied.
Although I have to say that it was an extremely good initiative from Arena Net to reward people that participated during the event to get a chest due to connection problems. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Submitted a ticket some hours ago about not receiving chest, attended the event but had plethora of issues to deal with, majorly d/cing and being put on different overflows, thus not being able to get at the chest after fighting the karka twice.

Hope to get an answer soon. Still nothing.

Still no chest its nearly 2 PM. I hear from others they never got further in the event than setting foot in south sun for the first time as I did and they got a kittening chest? Where is mine?

I can at least give my personal experience…

The one-time “event” was actually a series of events. I believe it started with protecting an NPC demolition squad in Bakestone Caverns. Once done, another event started that led to a different area of the map where there was an Ancient Karka. The overall goal was to get it back to the nesting grounds. There were several steps to doing this: try to bring a tree down on it, defeat the reinforcements it calls, uncover steam vents, trigger a rockslide, defeat reinforcements again, explode the blocked gas vents. Finally, an event started to kill the Ancient Karka itself. Again, there are several steps: destroy the webbing on the explosives, chase the Ancient Karka, destroy the webbing again, kill the Karka! It is after this very last step that there was a chest.

I participated in the event to protect the demolition squad, and in part of the event to get the Ancient Karka back to it’s nest. I never made it to the final event in the series to kill the Ancient Karka.

I received a chest in the mail. So, either there was a bug that let me get the chest, or participating in the initial part of the series the way I did qualifies to get one.

Well I participated in the lost shores stuff, but never received my chest. I wasn’t able to participate in the final event, but participated in near everything else. I’ll wait until 3 and submit my ticket.

A simple answer to my post would be really appreciated. A simple, we don’t care about the extra chests recieved we will now only give them out to rightful people. Or " the extra chest situation is being looked into right now, and an answer will be released shortly". It just shows people like me a bit of hope, or simply know we are not recieving the now deserved chest, and please let be just remark the NOW, not before, but now after all thats happened.

I gotta be honest- and this is just my opinion- I feel like you’re missing the point here. You seem overly concerned about other people, and what they got or didn’t get.

Me, I’m happy for guildmates and other players who got 1, 2, 5, however many chests. Good for them. Personally, at this point, I would just like to get one for my participation in the events of the weekend, and attempted attendance of the final event.

Don’t misunderstand what I’m saying: yes, I see how other people getting multiple chests can and will have an effect on the game’s economy.. I’m not ignorant. But the point is, ANet has already said, “we’re not taking stuff back from people.” So on that front, we already have an answer: what’s done is done. For the people who got 2 or 3 precursors and are about to get crazy rich, good for them.

I think most of the players who are in the forums agree at this point, the solution would be to make a list of anyone who had an active account before the weekend of the event, subtract the people who already received one or more chests, and mail one out to the rest. Gaile said that’s not going to happen, so we’re left to wait and see who ends up with one (rightfully or wrongly, doesn’t matter at this point, IMO).

Those of us who don’t get one will have to submit a ticket if we honestly think we earned one.

It’s a game of wait and see at this point. If I’m reading Gaile’s last posts correctly, ANet is pretty much done with this, aside from taking care of the tickets.

I submitted mine 2 hours and 40 minutes ago, yet it doesn’t matter I quit GW 2 today until I get a better machine to run it. I’m done fighting it.

I suppose “We’re sorry, nothing can be done. Please leave feedback on the forums, Twitter and Facebook.” is certainly a response from support.

I basically have the same opinion on the matter. I should add, though, that the cost of crafting an ancient karka shell and buying a 20 slot bag isn’t trivial (with the current prices on the trading post, we’re talking about an amount of more than 70 gold). While the items in the chest are variable and subject to luck , these items alone already give an unfair advantage to the people who got them without being qualified.

I’m in eu player who was in the same position as all of you yesterday, just annoyed, frustrated and fed up. Wasn’t even about the chest anymore it was about the customer service, and the way in which they handled the entire situation (I was sent the email saying I didn’t qualify too). Today however I was sent a chest in the mail so I’m guessing most of you will too at some point today or tomorrow. It’s taken quite a while, and a lot of fighting but at least they’re doing something about it. Hope you guys get yours too at some point, just try to stay positive.

Sigh, You know what’s annoying? I sent them screenshots of my player AT the event, you can even see me talking in the chat area and somehow after all of this im not in the script?

In a guild I was in until this week I saw people bragging that they got as many as 3 of them though various means. I don’t resent them but its a good idea not to make this a habit. Also the deal with the chest morphing according to the level of the character that opens the chest is really bad. I heard many people sadly say they didn’t realize that it would happen until it was too late when they got excited and opened the chest on lower level toons.

It seems to me that the fix is worse than the problem. I understand I wasn’t able to complete the event, thus I don’t get a chest and life moves on. This business about getting people late rewards seems to have opened up a larger can of worms with some people getting chests while others not, and a few people getting extra chests after they had completed the event. I thought that the one-time events were bad enough, but this fix seems to be doing nothing but opening old wounds. (I know that sounds dramatic, but you hopefully get my point).

It is a little disgusting too see in the other thread in main discussion, the poll, that alot of ppl that looted the chest (some muitply times)also got mail and some ppl still missed out, I would think they really need to rethink this script, as it has now just gone to the insane bin. time to admit a huge stuff up and just hand out 1 to eveyone they haven’t done so too yet.

I’ve done the event and looted the chest at the end, but I haven’t got an email… that’s ok, I wasn’t entitled to get one.
I don’t really care, but why are other people getting the mail after they opened the chest at the end of the event like me?
Why they’re having a second awesome loot and I don’t?

I’ve got over 3900 achievement point, over 120€ bought on the trading post, over 1000 hours of play time.
I was online on all 3 phases of the karka events snd sub-events, drop thousands od items in the mystic forge for lion’s arch donation ecc.
What am I missing?

I have a question.

As an aussie player I was able to attend the first and second events with just a few missed hours of sleep. The third event however required a sick day, which I was more than happy to take to attend.

However, I disconnected from the overflow I was on perhaps 10-20 minutes before event start while I was waiting. Despite a couple hours of screaming at my monitor I was unable to get past the login server.

I’ve put in a ticket, but should I resign myself to not getting the chest? Only reason I even have hope is a couple people I did the first event with, but who never attended and were not online for the second and third events were mailed a chest. Even a few guildies who didn’t attend any of the three events were eligible for the mailed chest.

Receieved the support e-mail stating that all have been sent out and just want to let people know checking here that there are still some who have yet to receive their chest while meeting the criteria stated. E-mail mention replying to the e-mail sent for further help. I’m curious how many still are waiting like I am.

I agree with you this does open an old wound, my account was was terminated in error and I could not even log in, post on the forms, nothing I was DEAD for 5-6 days. My account was restored without a sorry from anyone and now I do not get a chest that could be worth several hundred gold. I have sent in a ticket so I will wait and see.

I am pretty sure, from what I’m reading now, that you not need to kill the boss to get a chest. I believe that you did not need to be in the final event (but that’s sort of speculation on my part, based on player comments and I could be wrong). Again, and as you can see from people who got a chest, the distribution was on the generous side of things.

I can only confirm that from my personal experience. I tried to participate and got to Lost Shore. There I fought with the zerg at the coast and followed it to the interior of the island. But then, before the boss appeared, dcs and lags became so awful that I gave up.

Even so I got a chest. That was on one side very generous, on the other side a decent comparison for the frustration I experienced with the lag fest on my computer. So count me as a satisfied customer

The contents were quite nice, btw. No precursor, but the 20-slot-bag and the Karka shell accessory alone were worth it.

I know you are doing above and beyond what you should be for everyone here and its deeply appreciated, given this really shouldn’t be falling on you as there are other devs that were responsible for this event from the start that have seemingly gone into hiding.
however to solve this after 4 weeks nearly of the threads that have gone on and on with no official word till you started in this thread people are getting frustrated not at you but at the ppl above you for the total lack of clarity on what constitutes receiving the chest .Everyone here knows guildies or friends that have either received a 2nd,3rd or 4th chest, ppl that were not on for the final event receiving chests, and I know with my HC wvw guild of guys that had nothing to do with the event that were on doing wvw only and receiving chests.

Since this has aspired it would be better if the dev in total charge of this whole event makes a statement in regards to the issues they have created without the crap that has been fed to everyone in the other forums by these said devs. the constant run around is not doing anything for this community.

Without you alot of ppl would still be lost at what is going on and we all should be thankful for you. Even when you are here telling us one thing yesterday ,another dev in the main threads was telling a totally different story at the same time so you can understand why everyone has had enough and wants the absolute truth from someone of authority, time for the ceo to earn his money I say

I’m coming up on 20+ Hours on my submitted ticket soon, have not received any reply on it, getting rather disheartened indeed.

A friend of mine who was not even online during the event seems to have recieved a chest, why would the script possibly skip over me in that case? I attempted the event twice, and both times was kicked out with a d/c error and then thrown on to random broken overflows when I tried to rejoin I’m 100% certain I should have met the criteria this so called script just seems 100% Random now from where I’m standing, kinda disappointing.

I wouldn’t be expecting an update until at least Tuesday, and that update probably won’t be what you want to hear.

To be quite blunt its the appearance of the utterly arbitrary nature of the handouts that is infuriating.

I am an Oceanic player, I got up at 6am each day to “try” and participate, despite the problems each day. Day 3 was not an option, it was a Monday morning.

Even so after all this I would have just shrugged and said “Oh well, its the Oceanic lot in life to get shafted by US developers” and moved on. Then we get the mailout to those who lost out during the event. That would burn being excluded due to timezone while everyone else becomes a winner, but OK life goes on.

THEN we look around and see people who got the chest getting 2nd and 3rd chests, see random Oceanics who never attended a single day of the event getting mailed chests while the Oceanic player next to them gets nada.

At this point we just say “Are you trying to make me angry as a customer? Really?” How has this whole system worked? Was it lucky dip? Was it best of intentions but programmed by Robby the Intern With No Clue? I mean c’mon.

No email received……. The first guild wars gave me less disappointment…….

Nice that ppl who wasnt even online during the event got a chest and some ppl who got dced and couldnt get back in didnt..

I did get dced during the final event and didnt get back in, submitted ticket yesterday and havent still received any answer or chest.

Hey Gaile, I attended the evnt and managed to kill the boss but dced (lag -.-’)… My guildie first got the email and i thought i would get mine soon but i still havent 2 days after he received his. One of my friend got a mail even tho he didnt attend any of the event.

Ive put a support message and am hoping that i get a reply soon. Ive empties all my mails. But could u just let us know, would you have to log onto the character than you did the event on to get the mail?

Hey Gaile I had a question about whether or not I should be submitting a ticket for my Karaka Event Issue.

My issue is that during the Ancient Karka event i managed to get to the 2nd to last event in the chain(the one where you use vents to damage the Ancient Karka) before disconnecting. When i got back on i was in a different district that was about 5 or so events back from the district i had just been in, and had to play from that point to the end boss(I made it this time to the end boss and looted the chest).
Now, my question about this is, since i disconnected the first time during the event and ended up having to put at least another 2hrs extra that i would have not had to do had i not disconnected, does that “qualify” me for an Ancient Karka chest to be sent in my mail? Personally, I don’t want to waste the time of the people that have to go through all the support tickets, as well as waste time on false hope on my end, if I’m not qualified to receive the Ancient Karka chest.
