Sigh, still lagging, was really close to not bother to post about it because hope has nearly run out.
The fact that this has been going on for so long and you still haven’t been able to fix it is frustrating for us players and surely must be embarrassing for you…
Some of us only really get to play during the late evenings since you know, got work during the day then family time in the afternoon so I pretty much get to log on exactly when the lag kicks in then stand around in LA since there’s not much else that can be done.
Fix it please, I have no interest in playing other games either but soon might not have any other choice.

this has been going on for me ever since i put in the sky pilot patch and what not on june 25th, ive done so many different things in hope of fixing it, but i constantly drop to character selection. lots of lag spikes where people run into walls and skills take forever to fire off, while guild chat runs perfectly fine. this is getting to the point where the game is becoming impossible to play, which is quite sad because i quite enjoy it.

A day after sky pirates I found the game unplayable, laggy and for the most part pretty unresponsive when it comes to combat.
sigh A-net fix your game.. I can’t even get gathering dailies done
I don’t have all the time in the world to sit here watching loading and error screens
no reason why this should be happening when i can play other online games that connect to Japan half the world away

Well, I’ve had a lag issue before (6 months ago), I was in touch with customer support and they told me it was my ISP. The problem was suddenly gone from one day to the other though (before I even contacted anyone).
But now the problem came back.The lag is only there at certain hours of the day, usually from 16:00-0:00. Just now I got disconnected, after having played for hours without any problems, and when reconnecting the usual lag issues are back (seconds delay on abilities, animations getting stuck, etc). It’s almost the exact same problem I had all these months ago, and I’m quite sure it’s on Arenanet’s end rather than my ISP. Especially considering that a lot of different people are having these issues (several guildies of mine had it), all with different ISPs.
I’m not even going to bother to contact customer support, because I know they’ll tell me to use pingplotter again and I am sure it’s going to show high amounts of packet loss, just like last time. And I think my problems will ago away within the week or so anyway, just like last time and like my guildmates who’s problems were also only temporary.
This problem still needs solving though, and I think the excuse of ISPs being at fault is not an excuse they can make anymore.
Time to add my 2 cents worth.
I’ve had this same problem for over 3 months. Every patch, update, or change ANet makes just makes the problem worse.
Yesterday, I was after the Troll in Queensdale, along with about 30 to 40 other players, and my screen froze and froze and froze….. etc.
Note: this wasn’t even a dungeon… it was a noob zone. A place ANet DESIGNED for new players to the game to be playing at around lvl 10 to 15.
I wonder how many new players paid for the game, played to around lvl 15 and then quit?
Quit with bad memories of their experiences at ANET. Any Dev brave enough to give an honest guess to answer that question?
If any Dev actually reads this, just remember that this hurts me, ANet, and everyone still playing GW2. We loose too, whenever someone leaves the game, especially if they’ve had a very bad experience and warns all their friends away.
So ANet, if you can’t fix the game for your own paycheck, then fix it for our (the game players that are still around) good.
Also, please stop adding things to the game that make the problem worse, instead of better. For example, the new AOE loot, while an excellent idea, totally adds another blow to the lag issue. (I used AOE Loot for a couple hours and turned it off.)
I wonder what the situation would be if my PC weren’t powered well above the games “recommended PC requrements” to be able to play the game? ….. lol
Game has been completely unplayable for me since my initial post on June 25. I was able to log in for about 4 minutes to complain to my guild, but then I was booted again. Enclosed the error message. It’s not the usual one that starts with a 7. (Should I make a new post concerning this one?)

@raze ,been getting that error as well. along with others of course. love when the patches make things even worse, and that it takes forever to get a fix for a fix?
Well, I’ll add to this post but doesn’t seem to help atm when there are 364 posts in this thread and its been viewed 10,473 times (when I made this post).
Anet you really need to keep in contact with your customers, this isn’t good business behaviour or practice! You have countless peoples with problems and yet you’ve really done nothing apart from sat on your kitten and done nothing for the majority of your time. There hasn’t been any response really about what has been going on, no apology for the delays or anything which is completely unacceptable!
Also the few threads I’ve made about diagnosing the problems have been deleted!
So come on Anet, get your act together, inform your customers what the hell is going on because if this keeps going on I’m not going to have any members left in my guild and me and my friends are going to abandon this game for something that doesn’t have this problem!

Constant disconnects from USA – Georgia – AT&T UVerse. Works fine when not during peak times. The rest of the internet works fine. Every other online game works fine. The kitten Playstation works fine. Guild Wars 2 is literally the only problem.

Completely unplayable after 20:00 CET on Piken Square.
Another evening another lags / disconnects every night since dragon bash patch. Can’t play for 2-3 hours then everything back to normal….

Same here, about an hour of ok game time, then lag city and the game is unplayable for me. Its really starting to annoy me that we get these updates and I am barely able to play. Some of us cannot afford to constantly take time off work to play in off peak times just so we can see the new content.

And today evening is the same, lags and disconnects. Sometime help gesting another low populate server, but is a half-way solution. I want to play my home server (underworld), I want to play wvw, but I can’t. Confusing is that I have this problems since last path, but my girlfriend don’t, she playing normally whenever she want in the same server. Why some people have this problems, some people not? It’s funny…
Anet you seriously NEED to sort out this LAG and SKILL DELAY, Do you think we as a player base are going to wait around forever for you to pull your finger out of your anus?
There are other games being released in the near future you know!.

However, the lag is better for me at the moment. I still get a 1 second delay most the time and a good spike now and then. But at least I can play some now. Game hasn’t crashed again yet for me either. knocks on wood
Too bad my free time is almost up. Hopefully it will be fully back to normal next time I play.

It’s not playable at the moment. I played the whole evening (EU prime) without any problems but since 17:30 server time (Jade Quarry) I have 60+ seconds lag in every fight on wvw. It’s not the skill lag you get in big zerg fights. My character doesn’t move, uses no skills, map chat responds after 1 minute.

It is really getting unbearable. All kind of lags: skill lags, character not moving or getting bounced / not able to pass e.g. portals, huge loading screens, salvaging items with items getting in bags 1 minute later, etc.
And this at the moment almost anywhere, LA, WvW, in the mists, on high-pop home server, on low-pop guest server (EU) no matter …
Only thing that seems not to lag is the main chat.
Please fix urgently or if not possible, rollback this aether thingy which seemed to have screwed it up.
i’m having the same issues as everyone who’s posted here..except mine issues seem to have started with the dragon bash event starting.. please help!
As of today’s patch (Thurs, 27 June), I started experiencing horrible lag. After logging in (if I even could) I could move around somewhat freely, but would occasionally freeze in place and find myself unable to move. If I tried to interact with any object or use an attack, I would “lag” out; chat still worked fine, but my abilities would simply flash without activating and I would be unable to move until an error came up and I was disconnected.
After several hours of this, including scanning the forums for some information, I tried something that worked for me.
Step 1) Download the GW2 launcher from the account management page
Step 2) Begin installing GW2 to a different location than your current install path
Step 3) Close the launcher and cancel the game download, and copy or cut/paste the GW2.dat file from your previous installation into the new install path, replacing the partially downloaded one. Run GW2 from this location.
I don’t know why this worked, or what the implications are as to the source of the lag. However, it’s a simple, fast, and harmless way that may or may not help (but fixed the game-breaking lag that I was experiencing 100%). I figured if this helps anyone, I might as well share.
I’ve decided that I’m going to post on this thread every day that I have a problem. I think that the more attention (although there already is quite a lot) we bring to this problem, the sooner it will get addressed. So, today I was able to log in for approximately 5 minutes, chat and then proceeded to be disconnected almost immediately thereafter and every other attempt I made to log in again. I think I’ll personally submit a ticket for support soon if this there is no general response made by an ArenaNet official concerning this issue. I think it is something that is a higher priority than world updates and dynamic events. How are we, the paying customers, supposed to enjoy these aspects if we can not even expect a stable server to host our playing?
I live in Australia, Sydney and have one of the fastest broadband in the country (100Mbps connection with 5ms latency on local servers). I find that GW2 gets very laggy, esp when on Tournaments/sPvP. It’s frustrating as hell when your keys don’t respond and your opponents dissapear and reappear at random.
Hope this gets fixed as it’s really frustrating!
I used to run this game at 45 or 50 FPS on the highest settings, now with the latest patch from yesterday (6/27) I am running the game at 5-10 FPS on these same settings. Getting horribly long load screens, overall lag, etc. Changing the game to the lowest possible settings results in 40 FPS. This is completely unacceptable. I just bought this computer solely so I could play GW2 on the highest settings – it is the only PC game I play. I’ve tested other internet applications and online games and they run just fine. What the hell is going on over there, ANet?

I’ve posted about this before , and Anet’s technical support was gracious enough to give me the friendly generic advice of “using MSCONFIG to turn off unnecessary applications”.
Well, no, it’s not working. Why? Because since then, I now have a brand-new laptop with better specs, a fresh installation of Windows 7 Ultimate, with barely anything installed in it but what came in the OS and Guild Wars 2, AND I’M STILL EXPERIENCING ISSUES.
Try to do the Aetherblade dungeon when the client freezes up randomly. Especially during the laser walls and cannon fire dodge fests that should be easy to do with a more responsive system. It’s impossible.
No, the ISP’s not the problem, since this lag and login error messages popping up randomly only happen in GW2, not in anything else I’ve run through our network, even with the old computers.
I am really frustrated at this.

started to get this problem from time to time a few weeks ago. Now it happens more and more. Huge lag spike happens randomly, but quite frequently. Just ran a FotM. Was just unplayable. My internet connection is optic fiber 100 Mb/s and other online games are working fine.
Seems fine when playing really late in the night…
I am now having the same problem. I have done everything from opening ports to disabling all firewalls. Heck I had just bought a new computer about two weeks ago and thought that it was the computer. I took it back and still have the same problem. Please Anet! Fix this! I love this game but I may have to move on!
I just started having this same issue after the last update. Sometimes I can’t login. When I can it takes forever to load, and is completely unplayable once I’m in the game. The fact that they have not answered anyone on the thread for over a week is more than a little scary. This is very upsetting since I do love this game, but as it is now it’s just a $60 icon on my PC.

I have been getting lag, disconnects and long loading screens intermittently ever since starting playing the game (at launch). Recently it has got much MUCH worse. My 2 favorite chars are pretty much impossible to get to heart of the mists or Lions Arch. Only way i sometimes get it to work is to guest on a lower populated server.
I cannot see why it is my PC (high spec), or ISP (person using exact same connection has less problems) plus I have encountered exactly the same issues playing on a completely different PC on a different connection.
Problem seems to get worse and worse after every update. Instead of being excited about new content my first reaction is..oh no, I’m going to get even worse lag/disconnects.
This is NOT GOOD ENOUGH ANet.
I have lodged a support ticket, but I don’t hold out much hope given my previous experiences.

lol i get quite a few disconnects every hour, the worst was being sent to character select (sometimes out of the game completely) 4 times within 10 minutes. I get lucky if i can finsih any type of dungeon without bugging out. even simple 1 on 1 fights with a mob can turn into a lagfest. ive run tests with my ISP several times to know its not ENTIRELY their fault (they suck in general). fix this!! now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am getting 1~2sec delay. its been going on for a while. I’ve checked with my isp and ran other games I dont get any delays from other games. its nearly unplayable at this point. its sad to see there’s no answer to this yet.
I think people here are reporting different types of lag. But for those experiecing rubberbanding and skill lag at only specific times of the day- if you send a ticket, after running the diagnostic test and pingpotter, they will just tell you that it’s your ISP. I think they have given up on finding a solution and just accept the risk of people leaving the game instead of investing money and time into getting it fixed. You bought the game already, so they likely have the most of the money that you would spend on the game anyway.

I’ve been reading this post for days. Right now I’m so kitten ed off I have to comment. I keep get kicked out of the game either to character select or completely out. This happens every few minutes, in the last two days I’ve tried approx 5 times to get my instance done immediately after entering the game, and each time I get kicked out. The only time I’ve had any success in playing the game is at night, when it should be peak hours, however when I play from 9-12 in the morning I’m lucky if I can be on for more than 5 minutes. This makes no sense to me. I’ve put in a ticket and I did everything they told me to, until disabling everything at start up, which to me sounds like a dumb idea of a fix. I play the game on any computer in the house, and so does my mom. The desktop are gaming caliber running Windows 7 and my laptop I just bought in Feb. is running Windows 8. If it was just the new laptop I would conclude it was the operating system but that is not the case. All I want to do is play the game, but they are making it hard with this constant DCing I haven’t had before this week.
Idk if this helps, but I’m on NSP server, and this happens no matter where in Tyria I am, so it isn’t happening only on one map. The code I get is the same except the 189 is a 191 (Idk the difference those numbers make).
I’m a big mmporg player, have been since the year dot. Love PvP. Never gave GW a shot. I stupidly preordered GW2 which I played briefly before life commitments saw to that.
I’ve tried and tried to come back, but I can’t play. My lag issues started at the same time as op. I’m still having the same problem on a NEW ISP and a NEW rig. It’s YOUR end AN.
I’ve forced myself up to level 17, took ages, many deaths and in game currency a noob cannot afford on repairs. I’m not spending on currency, just to buy myself out of lag repairs.
Today I’ve uninstalled the game. Anytime AN release a game or the guild wars series is plugged. I’ll be sure to voice my diabolical experiences on the forums I use. NEVER again.

I can’t believe I paid for this game. World of Warcraft, for all it’s annoyances, was at least stable. I crash out on this error 7 every few minutes. I’ve tried going through everything on the troubleshooting list given, and the few things I am unable to do are because I have other software installed that I will not disable or uninstall. Seriously, testing should be using computers full of games, and other third party software so it simulates a realistic end user environment. Programmers by now should have figured out how to bypass the need for us to do port forwarding, and the installation should configure the computer well enough that things actually work on startup without me having to spend days trying to troubleshoot a configuration error. I haven’t played more than any 10 minute stretch without getting this error 7, and it’s just not realistic to essentially tell us to use a vanilla machine with nothing but what is necessary to run the software and nothing more. At thing point I’m ticked off that I was duped into spending the money to buy this game and if I thought I could get my money back I would. If I weren’t so insanely bored of WoW, I would just go back to Blizzard, at least they know what they’re doing.

Yup same here same code that pops up GW2 code=7:11:3:191:101 Can’t even log in. 7 Trials now and none of them are successful. My Internet is working GREAT. Yet in Gw2 it won’t let me log in.
Today the lag has become worse now, I used to get it now and then since the update but now it’s returning to what it used to be and I can’t play the game for more than ten seconds till it disconnects.

Same problem here, I haven’t error code but only about 10-15 sec lag. Every game or program works fine without lags but not Gw2. I have lags since Juni 11th patch, rarerly before
Just got error 7:11:3:189:101 yet again in WvW. I dont experience the lag others do, for me it is an instant quick connect. I could be standing around or in a battle.
I keep getting error 7 once a day. I don’t experience any kind of lag during the game, but I suddenly got everything frozen on screen then I end up kicked from the game with an error 7 message.
