Your boy friends video card is 180% faster than yours. All I can suggest is you steal his card and put it in your machine.
Boyfriend here!
Anybody who would steal my card.. well.. that person would not have a fun life after that xD haha, but all jokes aside, the problem occurs on both pc’s, not only her’s. And well, even her Specs should be able to run GW2 on high, with ease. (and atleast higher FPS)
So.. any suggestions?
I am having lag spikes since a few weeks. And since two days crazy fps drops….. The game is just unplayable for me atm. I guess i take another break from the game till they fix their kitten.

Lower shadows, reflections, and the character limit and you should be fine

Ye thank you mate,i have character model limit, on medium, shadows on high and reflections on NONE, i know exactly what is eating the performance, still not normal for a gtx 980ti and i7 3770, before the update, my game was perfect, for me and my friends!
Ps: don’t use best texture filtering. :P
You’ll need to submit a support ticket and explain the problem to them.
If you’re getting very different FPS on different accounts on the same computer then obviously something is up.
I will point out that FPS can vary greatly in different areas of the game, so you’ll need to be testing in exactly the same location. (e.g. pick a waypoint and send both characters to that waypoint to test FPS on the two accounts).
Hi,
Are settings staying on the General Options/Camera section for each account too?
Field of View can really affect fps.
Yeah, also that’s the same

Because you need to disable shadows and put character limit to Low.

We tested both accounts on the same places, the fps is always between the 12-15 fps, crowded or not.
I appreciate the remarks about shadow and texture filtering, but it is clearly not a pc-spec issue or in-game-settings issue.
Have you tried deleting the local.dat file? This can get corrupted and cause issues. Its in users/appdata/roaming/ Guild wars 2. Delete the gfx settings files as well. To see this folder you will need to enable the ability to see hidden files and folders in windows.
This will reset ALL keybindings and gpu settings so think about that. When loading the game up again this file will be remade and you will need to adjust gpu settings.
Have to say it makes no sense this problem unless there is an item or something on said account that is bound to the character/account and is causing problems. I take it different chars have been tried too? Odd one. Fps is tied to pc performance and cpu performance especially. Both pcs should be able to run this game fine at double those figures at least. Is this on the 64 bit client or the normal one? Try the other client. Also check security on your account page and make sure there is no unauthorised access going on.
The first fix may help in case it is a keybinding issue or some other account specific problem with settings, but how this has happened I couldnt guess. What Maze said is your best bet; settings are left per account on the keybindings and options side so something is not playing nicely for some reason there and resetting and going from scratch might help.

Hello! I tried doing all your ideas, but none of it is working.
I’ve deleted my files yesterday, when I came back in the game I had 120 fps again, so I thought the problem was solved.
I logged in today, and got the same problem again, deleted the files, but now it stays again around the 15 fps.
- Logging in other characters don’t work.
- Tried both bit clients, don’t work.
Everything you said, I’ve tried doing, but it seems I’m still stuck with this problem

You have to keep deleting the LOCAL.DAT file constantly. I have to do it every day or every other day. Get used to it until they fix it.
Like I said, I deleted it yesterday, but it didn’t work anymore FPS stayed 15. ( I started up GW2 after I deleted the Local.dat file, didn’t work.)

Are you using the same profile on windows to log into both accounts or do you both have different windows profiles? as for different accounts on the same machine having different performance issues, how exactly are you launching her game? Do you use a direct gw2.exe launcher with stored Login info? or are you launching through the launcher where you manually enter your username/password?
Do you have both the 32bit and 64bit game clients installed? If so are you sure you both are using the same Game client? If you only have the 32bit client, download the 64bit client and see if that helps.

Next time you log in and see low FPS, try just exiting to desktop and logging back in. Don’t change any settings, just run the game again.
The first time I log in each day I get stuck at ~25 FPS, but if I relaunch the game I am back to 60, and stay at 60 the rest of my play session.
