Low FPS - Help for PC configuration
www.twitch.tv/nightmare_clown
upgrade your CPU. AMD is terrible for performance in this game.
If you want more FPS in the zerg content, you need to go Intel. And even then, you are not looking at more then 25FPS with an i5-4670K. On my i3-2120 I can get 18-20FPS in a ‘worst case’.
Just to give you an idea.

Thanks for answering so fast!
So I changing my motherboard and processor to an i5 4 generation, I can now get about 25 fps on a good setup wvw with chart?
www.twitch.tv/nightmare_clown
That’s pretty much it, but it varies though. I have my 4670K overclocked to 4.6 GHz and it drops down to less than 20 fps at times, but it takes quite a big fight for it to happen.
You can try to OC that CPU – maybe is golden and set
character model limit – low
character model – lowest
reflection – sky & terrain
Shaders – low
Shadows – low
everything else is maxed out
Kinda get 18-30 fps in large fights
FX 6300 4.5Ghz – if you get FX 4300 to 5.0Ghz or higher
Lets say that 4th gen is about 50% faster in single core performance than FX.
i5 4th gen at
3.0Ghz = 4.5Ghz FX 4300
3.4Ghz = 5.1 Ghz FX 4300
so if your cpu is great OC-er you may keep this cpu to 2015 … and then get i5 (K)

False info here.
And im going to start demanding screenshots of your AMD systems from this point on.

I can record it if you want
How much faster then?

Intel is 2:1 to AMD in average for single threaded performance. Thats more then 50%.

And thats bullkitten
Look at BF4 – optimized for quad cores – i now that it is stupid comparison no need to tell again
FX 4300 min. 49 – avg.67
i5 4670k min. 72 – avg. 95
- 50% faster should be
min. 73.5 – avg. 100.5

Also going to draw the line here. No screenshot, I will also declare your information as invalid.
Just let him try if he will be happy with performance he can wait for “broadwell” or get more money for K model
My processor has OC. Originally it would have 3.4 ghz and is 4.2GHz, I tried to put more, but failed. I increased the voltage and did not work well.
www.twitch.tv/nightmare_clown
I can help you to OC futher but first i need to know which Motherboard and CPu cooler you have – if you want
also try those settings
My motherboard
MB GigaByte to AMD GA-78LMT-S2P AM3+ Box
Processor
AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 3.6GHZ 12MB AM3 Black Edition FD4100WMGUSBX
Cooler
Cooler Zalman CNPS10X Extreme w/LED (1366/ 1156/ 1155/ 775/ AM3/ AM2+/ AM2)
www.twitch.tv/nightmare_clown
hehe you CPu cooler is almost the most expensive
so you are running 4.2GHz
little hard to get it higher with that MB….
What is your voltage for 4.2ghz?
and did you download win7 fix for bulldozer
(edited by XFlyingBeeX.2836)

You might end up running into issues OC’ing using that Zalman cooler. I have the 5x and It would not keep my 955BE@4.2ghz under 80C’s during prime95 Tests. I had to upgrade to Prolimatech to get my temps down to 60c’s

I have since moved that Cooler over to my i5-4670K, since my Water system’s Pump Died, and it remains a very stable Air HSF. And if you are going to OC, I highly suggest this unit.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
sirsquishy – FX 4100 is easy to OC even with stock cooler you can get it to 4.2Ghz
I was running FX 6300 4.2Ghz on stock – yes it was loud but neveg gone over 62C even under prime 95

yes, the AMD stock coolers are nice.
However that post is NOT running an AMD stock cooler. He is running a Zalman 10X cooler.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
Are you crazy? AMD stock coller is good?
Phenom stock cooler and FX stock cooler is totaly different only FX 8*** has same cooler as phenoms
http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/amd-motherboards-and-cpus/50299-new-build-using-amd-fx-4100-a.html
first thing that is keeping down his OC is MB – vrm and really cheap design but it is OKAY…
like i said use these settings
If i were you i would keep this PC (CPU/GPU) until 2015/2016… your build CPU+MB+Cooler still cheaper than i5 4670K … Then replace it with the best next gen CPU for this game maybe they will optimize this game – you never know
sirsquishy – FX 4100 is easy to OC even with stock cooler you can get it to 4.2Ghz

This is you being quoted saying that the stock AMD coolers are fine to OC with.
I agreed with you…..
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
FX 4/6*** stock cooler is crap – understand that
… mine was so loud so i had to bought new one
Yes i have bad luck with this CPU – so bad overclocker
but still intel stock cooler is better than amd stock cooler (talking about FX 4/6***)
GreenRipper.6432
like i said download win7 fixes for bulldozers and change that settings should run just fine
in large zerg I get 10 FPS – will do same with FX 4300 at 3.4Ghz
Thank you for the feedback
I did not change the voltage, any voltage change that I have tried has failed, it does not accept and does not restart PC anymore, so I have to reset the BIOS.
Currently I’m using windows 8, this fix from AMD for w7 can also be used in this version?
www.twitch.tv/nightmare_clown
No, Windows 8 ships with those ‘fixes’ already.
