Hello!
My problem is the following: I had to replace my vga, and my new card does not perform better or at the same level as the old one. Performance dropped from around 30-50 FPS to 7-17 FPS. I tried different in-game settings (no difference between low-high), tried out many catalyst control center settings and drivers, but nothing changed. I even returned the card for an other one, suspecting a faulty vga. I have a pretty old system, but i managed to play with the game comfortably, now I can’t, and that makes me a sad panda.
Can anyone help?
My specs:
Phenom II x4 955 BE cpu
GA-78LMT-S2P motherboard
4GB DDR3 RAM
Asus Radeon r7 260x Directcu II OC 1gb
OS and game runs from a 60gb Kingston SSD

Check GPU-Z, to make sure you have the card properly seated, or you may have the card in the wrong slot. If the bus interface reads anything but x16, you’re having a problem.

what was your old GPU? Did you wipe the old drivers out before installing the new GPU and its drivers?

My GPU-Z. Well, it reads x2, not x16 (under stress test). There is the problem. Motherboard supports x16 though, so I don’t really know how to fix it.

If your motherboard has more than one PCI-E slot, move the card to the top most available slot. Motherboard makers include more than one for dual card purposes, where both cards split the number of lanes, or for using some strange peripheral, not for video card usage

If your motherboard has only one PCI-E slot, then your card has probably come loose. power off the computer, pull the card, maybe clean the contacts with a bit of rubbing alcohol, then put it back in.

What works for me is tipping the computer over on it’s side so the card is straight up.

Check the motherboard manual to make sure but it’s usually the physically closest x16 slot to the CPU.

Except looking at the MB you listed, it only has one x16 slot, so that’s not it. Pull and reseat the card? And as SirSquishy suggests, wipe the graphics drivers and install the lastest, can’t hurt.

The GPU was badly fitted. My PC case had a weird bump, and the GPU could not slide in properly. Thanks for the help everyone!
