I’m having the same problem as well. I seemed to have a game error during story mode and now I cannot log back in, only the black screen loads

I know someone is going to refute this as soon as I post it, but this happened to my wife and it’s why we bought her a machine with a dedicated GPU.
The Intel HD graphics cards do not have the horsepower or video RAM to run this game properly. While they are listed under the min specs, they just don’t cut it. My wife had an Intel HD 4000 512 in her Toshiba and the game wouldn’t render anything. If it did, it was only for a few minutes and any further rendering would cause black screens or crashes. Bear in mind that you’re also running this game through Transgaming’s cider wrapper, which is an emulation layer (other people will tell you it’s not an emulator, despite that it performs the same functions) and that taxes the system even further.
You need a dedicated GPU to run this game, not an integrated Intel HD graphics family style card.

I dont see why specs would matter since I have been running the game just fine since the release at about 40-60 FPS.
no one has a solution for this problem ? :S

The same is happening to me, please haaaaaallp
One solution we could all do is run the game on vm fusion :/ I would prefer not to though.
Guys Thanks for FlamingFoxx he just saved my life… it worked for me, you should try it !
First of all I notice you have a lot of applications running. I’d recommend quitting them before trying to run GW2, they’re using up resources that the game probably needs.
I would suggest opening Finder and navigating to your user folder>>Hold down Alt/Option and click Go in your menu bar>>Library(it will only show if you hold alt)>> Application Support>>In here there should be a folder called Guild Wars 2, make a copy of it on your desktop, just in case, and then delete it from the folder.
Try running GW2 again and hopefully it will try and rebuild this folder. Potentially solving your issue.(I realise your mac isn’t in English, so the Go option in the menu bar might not be called Go? but you’ll have to figure that out yourself xD).
Let me know if this helped at all!

My girlfriend was having the same issue on her macbook pro. Using the solution provided by FlamingFoxx, we were now able to reach the character select screen but couldn’t being gameplay. We then copied the library files from the desktop back into the library folder, and now everything works fine!
Thanks a lot!
hey this solution worked for a bit, but then I was kicked from the game and back to square 1 again
I tried doing the solution again but it didn’t work the second time around
It now works after I did that.. thank you!!
Worked perfectly, thank you!

I don’t have a folder named GuildWars 2 or anything fo the sort in my Application Support folder. Any suggestions?
I am having the exact some problem. Running the latest version of OSX on a Retina Display MacBook Pro 15". Nothing is working from either what was said earlier or in other posts.
EDIT: okay I just figured it out. “GO” is at the top of the screen.

My bro had the blue flashing screen when he tried to run GW2 on his Mac. We followed the directions from FlamingFox and it works perfectly now!
Thank you for saving game night!

Glad you got it working. Have you had any other problems with the client. We Mac users are sort of collecting incase someone from support ever stops by.
Glad to hear that! And thanks for the update.
I’ll be doing that on my hubs laptop soon due to a new, yet odd ui flashing/glitching issue.
I have a similar problem, when I open the Mac GW2 client and login, I press start but then the screen goes all black. It stays like that for 10 seconds then I return to desktop. I have tried FlamingFoxx.1305 solution and at the first time it worked and I was very happy, but then I it did not work anymore. I tried 10 more times to remove the folder but without success. Everytime I delete the folder and then open the client, an fast update occurs and the client does not remember my account details. Can someone help me please?

Clearing the gw2 folder deletes all settings stored locally on the computer.
I’ll post our full troubleshooting steps, read them completely before using some. It will be long.
1.) run software update to ensure all drivers and os are up to date.
2.) try repairing disk permissions via Disk Utility first. Then…
3.) repair the client install
Open Terminal
Type the following:
/applications/guild\ wars\ 2.app/contents/MacOS/cider —use-dos-cwd C:Gw2 -- C:\\GW2\\GW2.exe -repair
You can copy and paste that in, but (check the dash) you must change the dash before the word USE or this will fail the forum shows an em dash (—), but it is supposed to be 2 consecutive en dashes (-). Run it and let it go until finished. FYI if you type the command yourself or paste it, they are 2 dashes (-) side by side… I’m noticing one sometimes looks like an em dash… It’s 2 en dashes though. (the dash before USE is 2 regular dashes)… Reiterated due to previous confusion about that dash on these forums.
4.)Perhaps after doing that, if it doesn’t work, you can try to delete the contents of the gw2 data folder, it’s a pain to get to the right one: this step is a general fix for many t kitten ues, even without the previous steps
Mine is located under the hidden Library folder (navigate using finder, do not use spotlight to search)
/[yourharddrivename]/users/[yourusername]/library/application support/guild wars 2
You may want to copy/paste this folder to your desktop as a temporary back up, just in case.
Delete the contents of that specific folder (you should see files like this contained within “config, dyndata.dat, user.reg, userdef.reg, and folders p_drive and wineserver…namestuff…loca..[long name]” just to list a few), then re-run the client..
~~Your folder is probably hidden (as is the default). Hidden folders display as greyed out text and icons. I found this after googling:
http://m.wikihow.com/See-Hidden-Folders-on-Mac-OS-X-and-Other-Recent-Models
Others claim alt+clicking a file/folder unhides the contents, but that was never successful for me. At least the link has visuals for you. Hope it helps.
5.) If none of this works, check the sticky and submit a ticket, then please come back here and report the fix that worked for you.
6.) final thought, you may want to check support.mac.com to find out about resetting pram and smc. Worth a shot, right?
If this doesn’t work at all, submit a ticket after viewing the sticky and then come back here to post your solution.
