Chicago area Comcast now getting “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”

Hopefully fixed by morning.

I can confirm I am being routed through Level 3 servers in Chicago. Probably have a serious problem there. I am sure level 3 is working kitten resolving it… and by working hard I mean pointing the finger at someone else, standard practice in the IT industry. LOL

Man, I just keep trying on a hope it goes through and I get to play so I can drown out the noise here o_o. but yeah it seems like theres a big comcast trend here, It really wouldnt be the first time, I’ve had alot of problems with my comcast so it really wouldnt suprise me.

It’s loading for me now….not super fast, but at least it’s at the screen with the download bar for the patch.

Excellent, its better than nothing, hopefully it will fully patch for you.

I’m in Minneapolis, MN. Comcast as well. same exact problems as the rest of you. Guess I will just play my real life…..

Mines actually downloading now with no proxy server however its bouncing between 32kbs-18kbs

Loading bar is running super slow…about 60kb/sec.

Still better than mine, It actually just stalled out and went to 0

Looked good for a second, then stopped at 1450kb…hovered at 15kb/sec. Suck. I’m trying in the morning.

Worked. I am connected through a London IP via speedify.com’s program .. patched just fine.

I hope there isn’t some kind of dispute between Anet and Comcast because Comcast is kind of ruthless when it comes to that. See Comcast limiting Netflix earlier this year.

Hmmmmm…. just started working.

I got past the initial windows and now its downloading the primary updates.

I’m Comcast in the Chicago area as well. Same issue, although it seems to be getting better. Made it to 5M this time around. Then connection error.

I think their servers are overloaded. It looks like you’re in a queue that is trying to manage a ton of people at once – give a little here, give a little there, then timeout occurs. No fun for me today….

PS – wife just finished the first download, only to be kicked out again for a second download >:-\

I used hotspot shield. Its a free vpn. Just used it to download the patch and now turned it off and got into the game.

Glad to hear proxies are working for folks. I’m now actually downloading the patch, rather than just trying to get to the progress bar, and it’s making progress. It’s slow, and it’s going in spurts, but at least it’s moving.

(And now it’s done! Yay. Only about an hour and twenty minutes after I first tried to get the patch!)

Launcher downloads data dropping to 0KB most of the time but spiking up every now and then before finally switching to “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…”

Can’t even get to the Log-in screen or the loading bar for applying the patch.

Still having problems. Tried Hotspot Shield. Tried flushing DNS.

EDIT: never mind, restarted hotspot and then it worked.

I’m also having this issue and like many others located in the mid west (MN) and have comcast. I’m not certain what’s causing this issue but I do have a ticket in for it. I’ve been trying for an hour and a half to down load the patch and get the “connection issues” error and timed out. Anet please help if possible.

Great idea on the hot spot. Turned my phone’s hot spot on that my kid uses all the time and what do ya know, I’m playing in 5 minutes.

Same here, have been unable to get one for a while.

I also am having this problem. It got to 57 MB before dying once. Now it won’t even get past the bootstrap portion of startup.

Minnesota and Comcast. However, my son-in-law lives 5 miles from me, does NOT have Comcast, and works just fine.

I am having the same problem. I uninstalled the game and then redownloaded the client, thinking the client might have become corrupt. I can’t launch the game. The client is at 148KB and stuck.

I had the same trouble last night, and on a whim this morning, I started my computer and managed to launch the game. This evening, I can’t update the client. Of course, now I’ll have to download the entire game so ugh, another day lost.

I am in Indiana. I have Comcast.

My daughter, same house as me (i.e. with Comcast in MN) is also failing.

Huh, I don’t know if this did anything or if it was just dumb luck or coincidence, but it finally worked for me after starting Guild wars 2 using the Run command.

Use hot spot from mobile device to log in, then switch back to your cable modem. Comcast works after the patch is DL’d with your wireless hotspot…

EDIT: Looks like loging on at 9:00 AM central makes everything work perfectly. Patcher downloaded data, went to log in and applied it. I don’t know if Anet did something, or if it’s just the wee hours of the morning and allot less people logging on and playing.

So…flushed the DNS and no dice. Stuck at 0 kb/s.

Seems to be a running problem lately. Xfinity/Comcast has it in for us Midwesterners.

Man, it sure would be nifty if I didn’t have this problem every patch…

NOT FREAKING AGAIN! Another update and another 0KB/second I cant even get the patcher to finish 2573 kb and it times out. Everytime they patch this happens. This is Horse kitten.

3rd straight day at this time mid-Westerners using Comcast have had trouble connecting I was kicked out of the game to reload and of course download stalls.
