Guild Wars 2

So, I just put GW2 on my new computer. My old one was able to run it with no problems at max settings. This computer, should it finish downloading…. will be able to run 4 clients of GW2 at max settings with no problem.

But… there is that dreaded 1 File Remaining for download that is preventing “Play” from being delightfully boisterous and red.

Anyone able to help me out?

Did you try closing the client and then run it again?
Try a disk cleanup and defrag
Another possibility is your modem could be hanging. Can try a restart by unplugging it, wait ten seconds, then plug it in again

Getting the same problem. Just got a new computer, game ran fine on the old one, hangs at 1 file remaining on the new one. Have tried turning off firewall, even reinstalling, no luck. Could it be a windows 8 compatibility issue?

Not sure. Haven’t played it a lot on my windows 8 computer, just windows 7. Could try running it in compatibility mode and see what happens.

I’m having the same issue and I’m running windows 7 so I don’t think that it’s a windows 8 issue.

I actually just let it run… and left my computer and did errands for about an hour, and when I came back, it was ready to play.

Anet recommends waiting 10-20 minutes for the alternate downloader to start, but at one point, several have said it could take up to overnight and a few hours more.

Thanks, whoever revived that month-old thread with the same problem. Leaving the launcher open for about 20 minutes worked for me
