it’s a fastweb ( specifically) related issue. Surely we could get some help from aNet, since fasteweb dudes have absolutely no clue about what’s going on.

it seems a routing problem, since it differs from servers to servers ( if we account every map as different virtual servers).

it’s very annoying.

I do not use fastweb.

Issue is within fastweb infrastructure, there nothing Anet can do without changing their server address.

Issue will be either;
Unnoticed since let’s be real, ppl who work at fastweb are incapable to do the thing’s – dunno if you happen to ever see their catalyst.
Or
It will auto-solve once the HOP fry and decommission it’s self.

Also, to who have this issue do a tracert to 206.127.157.102
How: Open CMD and type: tracert 206.127.157.102

Do it few time and you’ll mostly like to notice which hop is the one causing the issue.

Guys, can you pls read whole thread before posting senseless things?

1- It’s not only a fastweb problem, also other ISP have the same problem
2- It won’t affect all char, I’m able to play a new created char
3- It won’t affect all maps, If I try to leave the map with an alt games stuck at loading screen
4- tracert is perfect, no packet loss and all ping <40msec
5- It’s not server related, same problem from different ISP and different server
6- It’s not client related, already done repair dozen times

If you don’t have any problem, pls refrain from posting wrong conjecture without reading all thread.

If you suffer the problem pls do a test with http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor and send results via ticket to anet.

I just got kicked twice with error 7:11:3:189:101. First time I was in Rata Sum and got heavy lag; second time it kicked me after waiting a couple of minutes at the loading screen.

Perhaps you should try and read the whole again.
I’ll recap it for you.
Issue is: PPL who have fastweb are unable to play the game since data is currently routed through some kitteny pos lying into someone cellar. Sure, it could also be and “Inteliquent” issue, altho the first hop exsposing the loss of packet on mine end is “89.97.200.253” aka fastweb.
ISP company usually share-share ad-hoc points what i mean by that? I mean that each company agree to let other’s company share an equivalet amount of thier line in exchange of the same.
Maps act as stand alone server, each of em have it’s own address. Also, not all data is routed through the same hop. Rule: First-come, first-served.
Data loss usually doesn’t show on the first try, hence if you exibit the issue we are discussing nonetheless “loss of packet” <> “ifinite loading screen” try harder and repeat few dozen of time and please post back the result.

Also, it seems like all the traceroute tests executed by Game Advisor end with “→ canceled by GameAdvisor due to timeout(500 sec)”

What’s completely strange is some of my toons have no lag at all: it seems like pve in the world is fine but as soon as i enter an instance (personal story) or the mists i start having BIG problems. I’m no expert but how can this be a provider problem?

Well, while reading the Diablo 3 forum it seems that fastweb users are experiencing high lag spikes that make the game unplayable. Maybe this is a result of the flooding of the last few days.

the problem isn’t only in Italy, there are problems in several countries in Europe and outside ….. just go read forums of other games, wow, sw, Diablo3 etc etc

Hi guys!
I am from Italy and like you i can’t login on my main char, but can play on a new lvl 1 char, still with a lot of lag.
After several tries i can login with my lvl 80 warrior, but still super lag and can’t do anything apart from moving in an empty map and getting kicked out after some seconds.

I have been mad searching for a solution, and i read similar problems related to fastweb are happening for many games ( Wow etc).

Please if anyone ( arenanet also) get to know something new, post here, thank you!

This problem is not related to GW2, it depends by Fastweb and other Italian providers.
North Italy mainly is affected by these issues because of the huge storms and flooding of the last days.
According to Fastweb customer service, these issues should be solved within 13:00 CET (13/11/2012).

By doing the same test, it seems the connection between 89.97.200.54 ( fastweb, or the line sending dates packet, which means it could also be used by other providers, explaining why people using Libero or Wind Infostrada are getting the same problem) can’t send that dates packet to 206-127-157-102 ( aNet server).

This means the problem is in common with both aNet and Fastweb.

All we can hope is aNet to be smarter than Fastweb employers ( most likely) and solve the issue.

Until then, we have simply to wait >_>

I only have this problem on one spvp map.. ahhh the one with the 2 lords (having a brain fart atm). I dont live in Italy but i thought i would chime in here and say it does happen elsewhere (I live in New Zealand btw)

I dont lag at all just get the infinite loading screen on this map only when i die in the middle of the graveyard, even sometimes on my first death which is very strange.

Proof?

i had 2 characters:
1 could play without lag, the other was stuck on loading screen or drop due to connection to login server and had heavy lag… (was able to change 3 areas to test b4 dropping that were Lion s arch, the area above LA and finally WvW).

Ater 2-3 hours when i changed zone with the working character, it ceased to work……

This points that the issue is not related to connection rather than being server side….

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

Also, fastweb here and i can confirm that as for now the hop “89.97.200.253” and it’s block 89.97.0.0/16 is no longer. Traffic to “206.127.157.102” seems routed through 89.96.0.0/15 – the infinite loading screen seems gone, alas.. i’m still lagging.

Been experiencing this problem off an on for the past month. Bout ready to kitten can this game. Im in CA using AT&T. Seems to always happen between 12-2am pst and once it starts im kitten*** for the night. What really pisses me off is that this is such a good game but the backbone is like jello and the customer support is one step short of cups and strings. Feels like one of those fab outdoor malls that they make so glamorous but forget to make adequate parking and it turns out to be so messy you don’t even want to step foot near it. I’m getting that exact feeling from this game cause of this issue.
