I am unable to use the trading post since the last update (4th June). Is anyone else also having this problem? The only part of it working is the pick up tab…

Try this: (read completely before attempting)

Delete the contents of the gw2 data folder, it’s a pain to get to the right one: this step is a general fix for many tp issues, even without the previous steps

Mine is located under the hidden Library folder (navigate using finder, do not use spotlight to search)

/[yourharddrivename]/users/[yourusername]/library/application support/guild wars 2

You may want to copy/paste this folder to your desktop as a temporary back up, just in case.

Delete the contents of that specific folder (you should see files like this contained within “config, dyndata.dat, user.reg, userdef.reg, and folders p_drive and wineserver…namestuff…loca..[long name]” just to list a few), then re-run the client..

~~Your folder is probably hidden (as is the default). Hidden folders display as greyed out text and icons. I found this after googling:

Others claim alt+clicking a file/folder unhides the contents, but that was never successful for me. At least the link has visuals for you. Hope it helps.

After you do this, try out your tp again. Please post back if this works or not. If it does not work, you may need to file a ticket. Please let us know how goes either way. If you need a ticket, please post your fix back here to help others who may experience the same issue. Good luck!

Also, can you go to a relatively empty zone like timberline falls then close te game. Tart the client back up, log in to thy character and open the trading post. If it still isn’t working then let us know. I do know that sometimes the TP won’t load when you’ve been on a heavily populated area.
I would also suggest opening disk utility and repairing permissions in case that is preventing it from accessing what it need to connect and render the TP

Thanks for your replies, I managed to solve the problem. First I tried FlamingFoxx sugestions to no avail – going to an empty zone and repairing permissions – and then I deleted the gw2 data folder and the TP is working as good as new!

I’m a new MAC user and having a heck of a time finding this data file! I did manage to ‘unhide’ the hidden files, but how do you search for the gw2 data file. I miss my PC!

As stated in the post above, here is the location: navigate to it using finder, not searching spotlight

Edit: my bad..duh… Hold on…you mean the mass of contents that you downloaded when installing? If you’re looking for something else, you should start a new thread so as to not derail this one.

Actually, the Trading Post runs as another application, also called Guild Wars 2. Sometimes it “sticks”. I go into /Applications/Utilities/ Activity Monitor and find all occurrences of Guild Wars 2, cider and wineserver and force quit those. Wait a minute then restart, fixes lots of stuff for me.

You can also try this:

1. Open your trading post (leave this open until finished)
2. Open your options panel
3. Change the language to French
4. Wait for the trading post to reload in French
5. Change the language back to English (anglais)
6. Test trading post

This does, however, introduce a gamma bug on macs, just leave the options panel open and move the slider around a bit… That’ll fix it.

Hi thanks for all the tips, I have tried your suggestions but not with any success.

However, I tried going to a trading post NPC (the npc with the scales) in the starting zone for the Norns talked the NPC and It worked after a while. Then the trading post worked almost every time in that session even if I just pressed “O”. It seems to be a bit harder do get it to work in more populated areas, but I can always travel to the Norn starting zone to get it to work.

I wanted to note to you that I frequently have this issue of the golden spinny, but in the last couple days only I’ve found it does load eventually (most times), just waiting it out… Sometimes 30 seconds or so. If it doesn’t load there, move to a different zone and sometimes it will (as you have found).

The old fix for this used to be to restart the client sometimes got it working.

Glad you seem to have it mostly working, post back if any other issues with it.

Is there any further news on this issue? I started playing a few days ago and have been having this problem constantly. It crops up every session sooner or later. So far I’ve been able to “fix” it by restarting my client, but tonight I can’t get it back at all. I’ve tried everything in this thread this evening, and still no trading post.

An interesting data point: I essentially never restart my computer. I certainly hadn’t since I installed the game. So I figured I’d give it a shot tonight, and I played for several hours (5 hours according to the forum post timestamp) with no problems at all with the trading post. I believe that’s my longest stretch of time played at once without the trading post quitting on me. We’ll see what tomorrow holds.

TP has never worked properly consistently. I tried to use Disk Utility as someone suggested on another thread and cleared all cookied processes that happens when Guild Wars 2 runs it worked for a week but now that process doesn’t even show up anymore and the problem is there again.

I also followed the data trick, but there is no such Guild Wars 2 folder in my Application Support even with hidden folder command executed in Terminal and whatnot… Don’t know.

Anyway, Anet really needs to fix the TP. The TP browser design in general is poor even for PC players. I ran on PC before and it was still laggy and so forth.

I reckon a computer restart might help but that shouldn’t be the only way

It has to be the Library folder within your USER folder – not the one found right inside the Macintosh HD folder or inside the System folder.

I have had this problem over and over. I have tried everything I can find. I’ve patched, deleted temps, over and over again. Actually got it to work 2-3 times. Submitted a ticket. Nothing. It must be karma telling me GW2 isn’t for me. Everything else works, but not Black Lion Trading Company. Real buzz kill. Can’t even spend RL $ for gems, for gold, for goods. You’d think someone would make this a priority.

I didn’t have the location in my “Users” area, as well. Black Lion has always had the stupid “error” when selling too many items, but within the past two weeks, it’s been absolutely terrible for me. I’ve completely logged out and closed the client and it still doesn’t fix the issue.

The Trading Post is essentially a web page within the GW2 game.

For example:

I have begun experimenting with adding “*.ncplatform.net” to the “Bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains” field of System Preferences … Network … Proxies.

I don’t know if this will solve or improve the Mac Trading Post issues, but it would be helpful if others tried and reported their results.
